What’s A Show That’ll Get Me Over Until JoJo Part 7 Comes Out

I love JoJo Ive rewatched the series a few times and it’s one of my favorite Anime’s but while waiting for Part 7 I was feeling like watching something with a similar vibe to JoJo

Specifically what I like about JoJo is the well crafted power systems the complex yet engaging concepts that’ll keep you thinking about even after the fight is done (basically most fights in Part 6) the fun casual character moments (the gayness) and it having the balance of engaging goofiness and WTF JUST HAPPENED?!?!?!

If you know anything that’ll make me feel engaged in the same way let me know

Also Note: Please don’t recommend ONE PIECE DanDaDan or Evangelion Ive already seen them and please don’t recommend anything for fans of those Anime as I’m specifically looking for Anime with that JoJo appeal

Hunter x Hunter is really the only thing that truly compares to JoJo in terms of systems and fight complexities and even outdoes it in the former. Yu Yu Hakusho its precursor is also superb (more simple powers-wise, but you can still see it get milked to the extreme) and really enjoyable dubbed. If you've seen HxH 2011 before, it's worth checking out the 1999 series still.

As far as tone goes Baki (starting with the two seasons of Grappler Baki) and Golden Kamuy (this one in particular gains some bara humor as it goes on) are both great options too. Both have good wtf moments, though GK skips past some of the craziest moments in the manga.

Seems like Baki and Yu Yu Hakusho at least from the outside seem like what I’m looking for (as soon as I saw the premise of each they seem insane in the best way)

However with Baki there’s like 3 different series on Netflix if you can could you please tell me what watch order I should go for

So, what I was trying to say in my post is that you should start with none of the Netflix ones. Netflix essentially continued from the two 2001 seasons with S3. Skipping those two seasons makes you miss the entire core of the series and many of the highlights.

So, you watch the two seasons of Grappler Baki, then on Netflix you can continue with Baki, and then Hanma Baki (both of these sub-serie have two seasons on Netflix) which resolves the main plot of the series to date, but the series is going to continue afterwards with Baki Dou which is coming soon.

I know at least in the US that Funimation used to distribute it, but it's fallen out of license. I'd just stream it on some random site if you can't find something official.

People who don't know about Grappler at first pretend it's alright to start at Baki, but it's REALLY not.

Takayuki Yamaguchi’s works feel very similar to Jojo for me (violence, homoeroticism, general weirdness). You can start with the Apocalypse Zero OVA which feels like a fever dream lol.
