It wasn't a split cour, but No Game No Life had an [ED corruption](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=50Yw4m6K0Cg) that I really enjoyed too.
As someone who usually doesn't skip the OP or ED, it's cool to be rewarded for not skipping and not missing out on things like this they try and sneak in (though AoT's being a different length is pretty noticeable).

Oh yeah, that one was really good and did a great job conveying meaning. JoJo likes to do things like that with its OPs as well.

What's an ed corruption?
baseballlover7232025-12-25 09:47
I don't think it's a standard term. But I use it to mean an ED that's still somewhat the same, but in a degraded state. Like if someone corrupted the data for the ED.

I didn't know about this ending back when I watched it and I sometimes check the ending for post episode scenes
so I was pretty shocked back when I first saw this
Brave-Camp-9332025-12-23 16:17
Man, AOT was made so perfect. This is why it is my best anime regardless of how many animes I continue to watch.
Shinkopeshon2025-12-23 22:04
I've rewatched and re-read it so many times and I'll probably still enjoy it if I did another marathon now
HarshTheDev2025-12-24 09:44
As much as I love wit's AoT for it's art direction and it's music, I have to say though, as someone who absolutely loved everything about the manga pre basement, I really did not appreciate the numerous changes wit made to the characters, especially in S1 and S3 Part 1. And that really bugs whenever I rewatch the earlier seasons.

aot was just so peak man
Inori922025-12-24 00:24
No matter what happened towards the ending, season 3 is literally the peak of all media all time for me
Untouchable masterpiece, I thought Reiner's reveal couldn't be topped in the franchise and cemented as one of the moments in anime history but then retake Wall Maria arc in its entirety, man the emotions I felt living through watching that week by week as an anime-only viewer at the time, will never be paralleled.
Frieren is my current goat but if I had to choose 1 viewing experience to re-live in my lifetime it's for sure AOT s3
Largofarburn2025-12-24 02:25
Man I’ll never forget the whiplash with season 4. I thought I had somehow missed some episodes or something when I was binging it to catch up.
Xenosys832025-12-24 12:32
The ending was honestly fine, it just wasn't at the level of everything that had come before it. The bar the series set for itself was ridiculously high.
HarshTheDev2025-12-24 09:47
It *is* so peak man. Call me crazy but there was nothing *so* offensive about the ending that would retroactively ruin the series.
-Zamasu2026-01-20 21:03
no no mean i was getting nostalgic over the show. its still is the best thing ive ever seen
BosuW2025-12-23 18:08
The signature look of superiority I had after this for never skipping endings 😌
CerealBowlHead2025-12-23 20:15
Unrelated to the post but imo, Requiem along with Akuma no ko are the best EDs of the show
Retsam192025-12-23 20:31
I dunno, AoT endings are pretty stacked - Beautiful Cruel World is pretty iconic, Great Escape might be my favorite musically, and I really liked Shock from the final season as well.
AgedCircle2025-12-23 21:14
Damn, I remember when this aired. I liked the outro so much that I always just let it run when then ep ended, but that teaser was so hype.
zairaner2025-12-23 21:32
The greatest use of a changed ending/opening in history. Absolute perfection.
kirasead2025-12-24 00:07
Fell off after season 3 sadly
aimglitchz2025-12-24 02:20
This should just be season finale. Split cour concept needs to be abolished
jimmycalris2025-12-24 02:43
Man I love AOT. I think I need to go back and rewatch it honestly
HarshTheDev2025-12-24 09:46
If you have only watched the anime, then I would recommend reading the manga now. They are actually quite different and reading the manga was way more enjoyable than I thought.
Bonvantius2025-12-24 05:04
GNOSIA literally did it in this current season.
lalindu1232025-12-24 06:23
Aot is so peak
Xenosys832025-12-24 12:31
I still vividly remember seeing this as it aired. Cool AF.
WIT and MAPPA (for the most part) adapted this superbly. Isayama is a god damn genius. I wonder if he's a one and done author or if he'll come back and write another story.
T4Thunderbolt2025-12-26 19:26
I still can't believe that Armin was alive (barely!) after getting burnt and falling down like that.
