How to start Bleach

Are there any Bleach compilation movies that I can watch before I start TYBW? I’ve been wanting to hop into that anime for awhile but don’t have the time to dedicate to watch the entire thing. Or what do people recommend for someone in my situation? Is it better to just watch something on YouTube? Open to whatever because TYBW looks peak and I have ZERO knowledge of anything Bleach. Which is crazy to say lmao.

At least most of the Bleach filler was self contained stories. I enjoyed some of the arcs although it was probably a lot less enjoyable while it was airing and interrupting the main story, I just watched them afterwards as like bonus episodes.

You start from episode 1. Just skip filler aside from the beach episode. The only issue with the previous adaptation was pacing from around the late 30s onward. You can perhaps look into a fan edit as well.

TYBW might have a better production, but SS is still the better arc.

As other people have mentioned, you should start at episode 1 and just skip the filler. There arent any compilation or recap movies as far as im aware. I will say however that I personally liked the zanpakuto rebellion arc and the designs from that arc become canon. Not necessary to watch it story wise as it is filler tho.

Like others said, start at ep 1. Builds up the story. Soul Society arc is also one of the best imo.

Unlike others, id recommend u to read the manga ,it will not only be quicker compared to anime but the art is pretty amazing. For tybw i will strongly recommend anime.

I just started last week and am already on volume 10. Its so good.

I did the same with One Piece bc reading is so much faster. I will rewatch the cool arcs when I have time.

There are no compilations, just the original anime and or the manga depending on what you find easier. Other people has already included the filler lists. There are some decent filler but a lot are on the weaker side. The only filler arc you should at least skim or read up on is the bount arc. It's not well regarded but it's the only filler arc they integrated into the main story so it could be confusing just skipping it.

The other filler that worth watching (can be done after TYBW) if only for characters design is the zanpakuto rebellion arc. It has a lot of interesting humanoid zanpakuto designs some of which were eventually used in the anime like Kyoraku and to a degree Rukia's or was influenced like from manga gags like they did with the design change for Renji's zanpakuto.

It’s a fairly short anime, not only do you skip all the filler some episodes are actually about 15 mins long given they have extensive recaps at the beginning sometimes lasting up to 4 mins each so you get through episodes very fast.

Either way you’d feel little enjoy ment if you just watched the modern seasons so you either watch from the start or don’t watch it at all.

The best and fastest way to experience Bleach is to read the manga (normal or colored) up to the end of the Fullbringer arc (chapter 479) and then watch the Bleach TYBW anime.
