I would call it a one night stand, but it's truly hard to tell.
They didn't do the deed but they basically slept next to each other, he got to see her with barely any clothes on, she helped herself to his bathroom, and really opened up to each other emotionally. And she left a "love note" on his neck instead of a love bite for other girls to see.
After hearing about Yua’s shampoo and Yuko’s hairdryer, Yuzuki apparently felt the need to leave a mark of her own.
Honestly this one kinda bothered me more, because the rest of this show is smart. Everyone here knows better! And they agree that he was wrong in the very next scene! So why was that scene even there?
Wonder how Nanase's confrontation will go
She talks about never being in love before but then she gets jealous over everything Saku owns that other girls gave him and wants him to see her as an attractive girl.
I guess both of them are the type who are too afraid of what going "all in" on their feelings might do to them to make a move.
It's pretty much confirmed that Yanashita's acts were limited to physical instead of sexual ones as well but Yuzuki's aversion to violence seemed irrational. Perhaps, it's a result of a past trauma. She claimed that's all there was to the secret but she didn't mention any reason behind her reaction to Yanashita.
We also still have no clue on the one who messed with Yuzuki's stuff. Nazuna's the most suspicious but she turned out to be innocent.
I guess on paper I understand that Saku was trying to instill some confidence in Yuzuki and make her act like "Yuzuki Nanase" again instead of this weak and depressed girl...but was faking physically assaulting her and undressing her while pushing her down on your coach REALLY the only way you knew how to do it? He kind of earned that full knee to the balls.
Yuzuki in middle school was just as street-smart and adept at managing social situations as she is now (just with longer hair) but that didn't help her at all against Yanashita after he assaulted her, even if she hated how weak she was in that moment. But she never let that trauma let her stop being "Yuzuki Nanase," which to Saku is the most important thing.
Well, Yuzuki is the first girl to use Saku's shower and bath, I assume. And it's especially nice seeing her ample Yuzuki's (also, she's wearing blue underwear again!). Though Yuzuki doesn't appreciate all the stuff Saku has in his bathroom from other girls. Maybe that's why she came out in just a shirt in glasses to give him a bit of a show. It's quite the sight.
Ah, the old bed vs couch debate...which is resolved by bringing the couch INTO the bedroom so they can sleep together without sharing a bed.
The way Yuzuki was asking Saku if he had someone he liked after calling him "Chitose," I guess that means she was framing it as a question from "Yuzuki Nanase" instead of Yuzuki his fake girlfriend. And yet she seemed to sincerely want to know. But Saku himself did have your usual puppy first love when he was a kid and fell for a girl he knew when he visited his grandparents for a Summer before he never saw her again...but now it seems like both he and Yuzuki have never been deeply in love before and are hesitant to capitalize on those feelings. Even if Yuzuki really does seem drawn to Saku.
Next morning Yuzuki's gone and all Saku has to show for it is her writing on his neck how much she enjoyed seeing his sleeping face. Yua is NOT amused.
Seems like Yuzuki is deciding to take responsibility for her life, patching things up with Nazuna (more or less) and deciding to handle things without Saku. I guess "Yuzuki Nanase" is really back.
I still can't make heads or tails of this Saku and Tomoya dynamic.
Saku catches up with Asuka, and it seems like Asuka is debating moving to Tokyo. Saku, with his retaining his childish naivety, basically wants her to not leave Fukui (and him) but Asuka seems intent on the idea of fully growing up...and maybe that would make her more attractive to Saku?
To me, it looked like he was trying to pinpoint her weakness.
The conversation between Saku and Asuka regarding white one piece dress and straw hats - is the story hinting / confirming Asuka is the childhood friend whom he met during some years of his summer vacations?
It's mighty convenient that Asuka immediately went with that imagery around Saku, though I also felt like it was symbolically trying to convey the idea of childhood vs adulthood and whether at this stage in their relationship/maturity level what Saku and Asuka are to each other.
Asuka might be conflicted between choosing her dream job or ideal partner (i.e. Saku). In other words: whether to stay in Fukui or move to the big city. Is that why she hates and loves it?
- Please ask this question in the Source Material Corner, any answers to it would otherwise have to be removed.

With the kind of ruffian Yanashita is, I'm surprised he didn't choose to further torment and abuse Yuzuki after slapping and intimidating her once, which traumatized her to this day.
This begs the question, why did he suddenly reappear in Yuzuki's life once again after leaving her alone all this time? Could it be that he's being manipulated by the actual stalker...
Speaking of the stalker, Tomoya continues to be sus like hell, I'd be surprised if it wasn't him. Saku suspects it too, hence his thinly veiled ultimatum to tell him this is his final chance to back off and properly approach and befriend Yuzuki if he really loves and admires her.
When Saku mentioned to Yuzuki about his childhood friend who was his first love, I had a feeling it might be Asuka, seeing as how Saku is more respectful with Asuka in contrast to his playful, teasing self when he's with the other girls. Saku also thinks it might be her, though Asuka still remains coy about it.
PS LOL at Yua finding Yuzuki leaving lipstick writing on his neck.
PSA According to [LiveChart](https://www.livechart.me/fall-2025/tv), episode 10 will still air as normal next Tuesday, though how they'll arrange the broadcasts for episodes 11-13 is still anyone's guess, as the anime only booked for a one-cour (3-month) block with the TV network, which ends at the end of this month.
Honestly I have to think Tomoya is the stalker because why would we waste so much time on Saku with this kind of pathetic guy crushing on Yuzuki otherwise?
Will Check JP Twitter after it airs next Tuesday
I was about to praise the show for showing Yuzuki in her underwear naturally and without giving the impression of fanservice, then she appears only in her school shirt and a low-cut top, but it was a good subversion of expectations.
Love is difficult and even scary depending on the point of view; I mean, you don't know if you're going to hurt or be hurt, to the point of not wanting to imagine it.
Another deep conversation with Asuka, I live in one of the biggest cities in my country and I'm thinking of moving to an even bigger one; imagine them, who live in a city with just over 250,000 inhabitants (thanks Google). And I strongly suspect that the girl Saku liked in the past was Asuka, even because they mentioned the white dress.
And it's something she's consciously doing to flirt/seduce with him instead of by accident, so she's taking control of her sexuality back.
Yuzuki fanservice are great! Too bad most of the stuff that she used in Saku's home was either recommended or gave by another Girl.
It's nice to see Yuzuki finally get ahold of herself again thanks to Chitose's dramatic scare. It was concerning to see him push Yuzuki's buttons like that, but I didn't think he would actually go through with it knowing his character.
Yuzuki now openly being playful was nice, I really like this dynamic they have when they're being their characters. She might be the first person he's seen wearing a boyfriend shirt and then topped it off with glasses, jealousy brings out the charms lol. I'm looking forward to seeing how she'll finally handle that scumbag, I hope Chitose's around to rub salt in the wound.
I still do not trust the guy Chitose gives advice to, I hope he proves me wrong but the eyes and how shaken he was about what Chitose told him was a little alarming. But maybe I'm just being biased.
Why does Saku care that she is pretending to be some grandiose image of herself?
Maybe it's just because high school kids don't talk like this, but I get it's an anime, so the characters are presented with adult intelligence/feelings/motivations.
Because he's doing the same thing and he needs her to keep doing it to validate his own identity and the thing they share together.
I believe that is because Chitose can only pretend to be non committal to the feelings of the 5 female protagonists as long as Saku can continue with his "Saku Chitose" persona. And as long as Yuzuki remains in her "Yuzuki Nanase" persona that gives Chitose the justification that he doesn't need to move forward in life.
Yuzuki is my fave girl, because she appears to be maturing & moving past her demons faster than Chitose. I have a very strong feeling that there will be a story arch in the distant future where Yuzuki Nanase ends up playing the role of hero and saving Saku Chitose, so to speak.
But man, the amount of trust Saku had in Yuzuki for that message to get through in the way he delivered it though.
She and Atomu are made for each other.
Aside from that, did I understand that correctly? Did he try to confess/make her stay and she rejected him?
I think they're both dancing around their feelings/attraction to each other because they're too hesitant to pursue a real relationship.
Like, clearly Yuzuki is genuinely into Saku at this point and not for a fake girlfriend reason but I think she's genuinely afraid of what might happen if she really pursued him romantically. She already freaked out last episode over Yuko finding out about her and Saku together at the festival.
Like, don't take advantage of her affections when she's emotionally vulnerable but also don't act like you're going to take advantage of her physically as a way of...somehow motivating her.
[Feigning sexual assault](https://i.imgur.com/YRcLDfQ.jpeg) to try to motivate Yuzuki is such a weird choice. [Saku definitely deserved that kick to the nuts.](https://i.imgur.com/RcFXiZY.jpeg) Hilariously, it seems to work, and I'm curious to see how this will work out for Yuzuki.
My only real problem with this episode [is Yuzuki apologizing to Ayase.](https://i.imgur.com/ZId6p6x.jpeg) It should be the other way around, considering how much of a bitch Ayase has been towards Yuzuki.
It would've been better if Ayase had also apologized, but I guess it's to show Yuzuki is the bigger woman between the two of them.
I'm really curious how Yuzuki is going to act around Saku once this arc is over and they stop fake dating because it really feels like she's been genuinely falling for him episode-by-episode even if she'd never openly admit it.
That said, I hope that conflict with Yan High actually ends with the proper authorities getting involved
Guess we won't be getting any arc about Yua or Haru?
This move did help get Yuzuki’s mind out of a dark place, considering that she went back to teasing Saku not long after. If she’d gotten to comfort her sadness with a kiss from him, things would’ve probably looked much worse.
I did get the sense he would probably be the only boy she'd be willing to kiss and she does desire him on a physical level, just probably not in a state where she's willing or can pursue that.
I do believe that Yuzuki might’ve become wholly dependent on Saku if he hadn’t gotten through to her like this.
None of the decisions the characters make are in anyway rational or ones real people would make. Which is fine for fantasy and isekai shows where you’re suspending your disbelief but for slice of life you gotta keep it rational.
The MC has the personality of a potato and everything he does feels so forced. Honestly everything about this show is bad.
The opposite is happening with Yuzuki and Saku, even tho I expected them to talk still in riddles. Instead, they're being more honest with each other and more ...at ease ? He's sharing again personal stuff about him which had never happened before.
His way of handling Yuzuki's trauma was messed up (adding trauma to a traumatic experience was not a good idea) but I don't mind it, I like when characters have flaws.
Ultimately Saku really cared about Yuzuki's well being and the guy he's still talking to has to be the stalker, yet he acted like he was letting Yuzuki handling all on her own.
Also, it looks like the main romance won't be with Yuzuki (😭) but Asuka since she really looks like she's the childhood friend and Saku looked quite upset when she told him she was going to leave.
Meanwhile he and Yuzuki are being more honest with each other and as a result are dropping the facade and don't have a need for the over the top dialogue
So the girl that we see in Saku's flashback was his crush in his elementary school days. Is what Saku said the whole story or is there more to it ?
Still worried for Nanase about how she's gonna solve this problem on her own. Not a fan of Naruse yet and he's still in my suspicious guy radar.
No! Asu-nee is planning on moving out of town.
Trying to sexually assault the one you one or even faking that is truly low. Honestly, I think Saku should have had at least 2 knees to his balls then a knee to the face to where he got a busted nose and/or black eyes.
I was expecting the arc to end this episode since it's already gone on so long but surely they aren't going to just not tell us the resolution. At least we apparently still still have an episode next week and I can't imagine it not ending for real then.
Kind of feels like Asuka is being implied to be the childhood friend given that conversation with her, the haircolor doesn't match the sundress and hat girl in the OP/ED but that's not a deal breaker.
And we all know girls don’t fart until they turn 50.
And second, this is the first time the slow pace of adaptation has bugged me. The quality is good sure, but this story isn't... moving.
As always there are two or three lines this episode that are super sharp and make me go "Oh shit, yeah that's exactly how teenagers work this author has *got it*" but I need a little bit more cause and effect happening in the actual events of the story please.
Also. Why is yuzuki apologizing to the red head girl when the red head girl is the one who started it and was actually saying even worse things? That’s just stupid. It’s also stupid how apparently yuzuki is the bad one in this situation? The red head bitch was bullying her for getting stalked by the delinquents but the moment she argued back she’s the bad one?
Then the whole story with the delinquents being involved is shit as well. They’re adding absolutely nothing to the show and just being all around annoying.
It’s obvious the creepy kid is likely the stalker but that just begs the question. Why would saku help some random guy like that to get rid any of the girls? That’s weird in and of itself. Some guy he doesn’t really knows comes up to him for advice and he goes along with it for a while? Why. That whole part is illogical too. Especially since he seems saku suspects him. Why would he still be friendly with the kid?
On top of that you’ve got a whole cast of character and they only hyper focus on one single one and the mc who’s ridiculously boring as a mc.
Watching this show feels like I started a show 3 seasons in where all the relationships have been formed already and they’ve gone through multiple arcs.
As a seasonal watcher, there’s been some trash come across my watch list but this show is definitely up there. Sometimes you gotta watch the bad ones like this one to really respect the good ones. This show really makes me respect some of the shows like horimiya and bottom tier tomozaki.
The bully won't leave her alone if Chitose beats him up - he'll simply view her as a passing prize, which the strongest gets. Any "heroic beating" on Chitose's part would be seen not as protection, but as a redistribution of property: might is right. He was right to refuse to play into this circus. Jumping in and beating up the bully would confirm that Yuzuki's agency is irrelevant and that only someone else's power can resolve the issue. This isn't a solution to the problem, but rather its preservation until the next conflict. Yuzuki herself must make up her mind and clearly state her position, making it clear to the bully once and for all that he will not get her through violence and intimidation.
I especially liked the conversation between Saku and Asuka about leaving childhood behind and growing up. Asuka believes Saku would never fall in love with someone immature, but ironically, the only time he’s ever truly been in love was when he was a child.
Anyways, I guess it’s nice and all everything’s seemingly worked out for now. It always does for Chitose doesn’t it?
The way they never show how Tomoya spilled his drink & the way how he weakly reacted to it along w/ his reaction to Saku intending to stop pretending to be Yuzuki's boyfriend were definitely red flags.
At least Saku gave Yuzuki some advice along w/ some defense techniques.
It's nice that Kaito watched over Yuzuki to make sure she's safe.
I'm surprised that Yanashita was popular back then w/ girls crushing over him. It's either he's bad this whole time or his ego got too big that he became bad.
At least Yuzuki apologized to Nazuna & maybe along the way they can be friends.
I love the panty shot from Yuzuki.
I'm surprised Yuzuki's writing on Saku's neck didn't wash off in the bath.
I think he only bathes at night. He probably just does a quick wash up in the morning.
Ok... This feels very rapey.
And now he's stripping her.
Ouch... In the plums.
So, that's why he did that.
And here's her backstory.
So, that's what happened to her previously.
And so she's come out of the bath in just a shirt.
And so they're sleeping together.
So, a bit from his past too.
So, not anymore?
So, who's next?
So, it's her.
Why wouldn't he like her in a dress?
nonstop until my eyes start glowing. some volumes have a hefty number of pages.
i'ts been ages since i read books with written words other than manga.
but i absolutely needed to know what happens next and holy moly everything so far apparently only covered 2 volumes im in for a ride i guess. and at the same time i hope they animate all volumes.
my lips will be sealed and i see you guys on the other side.
Is that Naruse guy not it??? I can't tell.
Nanase problem isn't resolved but she's gotten the courage to proceed.
Wait...is Asu-nee the girl from his summer?? They put it in the same episode which probably means it's all connected.
