Gamute being able to use the main Glass Children's attacks was interesting, but they all did say something along the lines of that he carries everyone's burden or souls or something. I did like that his dream had them all in it living their lives that could have been, Ange no longer presenting as a girl was a big surprise, that marriage proposal was so funny.
This anime really surprised me. I honestly hope it gets a second season in the future because it has potential. It ended at the best part! If it does well in manga sales, merchandise, and the new mobile video game, we might get more Ninja vs. Gokudo.
Episode 12: 10/10

Season 2 when?
- [Perhaps I should have waited 2 days on watching this.](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/6a2d17b32139.jpg)
- [re: "time-to-go-home song".](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/99bd572ee4bc.jpg) Dialogue and German subs said Yuyake Koyake which is a children's song schools play at closing time ([myjapanguide](https://myjapanguide.com/culture/yuyake-koyake-song-children-finishing-school), [nippon.com](https://www.nippon.com/en/guide-to-japan/cs00024/) and I'm sure many others have more info).
I know ongoing source material tends to be read the manga ending and this one was as unsubtle as the rest of the show so it fits. I imagine the structure of that didn't allow for anything else to be done with 12 eps (especially as this last arc felt like most of the season and even if you could stop before then you're still left with odd loose ends).
While there were some elements about htis series that wer ejust really off putting,
being mainly that the gokudo were kind of cartoonishly evil even to the point were they were literally crying obnoxiously and being oblivious as to why the ninja are killing them, this turned out to be a VERY enjoyable watch.
THe main focus of course being on the main two: Kiwami and Shinoha.
IT was actually reallly cool to watch the reveal play out exactly like in other older shonen like series, knowing who the antagonist's real identity is and just awaiting the fated episode where it will also be revealed to the protagonist. So major nostalgic +points there.
Another thing that really carried this eries, was just how badass and amazing kiwamis scenes were. Just the badass antagonist that you want to see in action, especially if he is unknowingly helping our protagonist because they have a temporary common enemy. Especially because he was put into a position, where he coudln't draw out 100% of his powers, andhad to act on limited resources, not just simply overpowering his enemies, but using his wits.
Making the moment he did finally got his hands on the coupon all the more statisfying.
The Hype was real, especially in episode 10 where after he blocked the ball, it faded into the middle of the opening
Yeah. Shinoha is kinda mediocre, even sub average for main character but Kiwami is just walking charisma. I have Aizen vibes. Obviously both are different but a lot of their scenes are really cool. Gamute also outshined Shinoha to be honest.
As for shinoha, yep definitely he really does seem kind of bland, but is still important or well gets pulled along by how cool kiwami is. Goddamn that guy is cool, and good looking, just look at his tatoos, when he was fighting theballerina girl. But his efficient killing style is also just really clean
I really liked this show. Sure, its not masterpiece but its lightweight with a lot of surreal humor(Gakudo complaining ninjas hunt them for killing and raping or heads flying everywhere) and I kinda like that there is no moralizing. Gakudo are definitely as pure evil as you can get, including Kiwami.
i cant see we get s2 so i guess its time to start the manga who knows maybe is better from anime
I sorta expected that this was what was going to happen when episodes 10 and 11 felt like they weren't really building to a solid resolution, but it's unfortunate that the season ended right when it felt like things were going to get interesting. I guess we'll see if it gets picked up for a season 2, although I'm half worried that if it does they'll either not dub it or they'll make the dub not terrible which would reduce some of my enjoyment of the series.
Lastly, it's more relevant from last week, but I think the robot magical girl's design is supposed to be a weird amalgamation of Cure Black, White, Bloom, and Egret who were the 4 of the 5 first Cures that Precure ever had. At the very least, the shoulder pads are very evocative of their designs.
This is not a show for everyone. It is campy. It is gory. It is hyper-violent. But then, it goes beyond all that to become so absurdist that you see the social commentary in it. There's something to be thought about what led to all these violent characters and the principled ones who oppose them.
Is it me or did the animation get better as the show went on? Not like a huge quality boost, but I feel like certain effects and movements during fights gradually kept improving. Anyone else?
The story def wasn't mind-blowing/revolutionary, but I was definitely entertained the whole way through and certain scenes def had some heart to it.
Hopefully more people will watch it so we get a season 2 🤞🏽
This was a fun watch. I love how intentionally wooden the dub was. It's fun to think how this could have been on Toonami or Adult Swim when I was a kid. Hopefully there will be another season. This is a personal favorite, definitely going to go watch it again.
While this show certainly loves its decapitated heads and over the top fights, I appreciate how every character (at least those that get name dropped) manage to have backstories amidst the comical battles. I was honestly surprised by how consistent the animation was and even though it was not jaw dropping quality, it serviced the show well enough to bring on the hype through out the episodes.
The main plot element of this season was the inevitable revelation that Shinoha and Kiwami are in fact sworn enemies on opposing sides, and the finale accomplished just that and left off at a satisfactory point without dumping a massive cliffhanger on us.
Kiwami is my favorite character by far, which is further solidified in this episode. Even by the finale, he remains a complex and mysterious character. Just like Shinoha, Kiwami is incapable of feeling true joy. In fact, he has it worse as he mentioned at one point that all of his emotions are emulated to suit the situation that he is in. When his close subordinates die, he claims that he is void of sadness, but yet he remembers and mourns each and every one of them. When he perceived that Shinoha was in danger, he expresses genuine concern and even risks his own life to save him, evident from him giving Shinoha the undigested Hells Coupon instead of keeping it to ensure his victory.
Now we find out that Gamute is not even Kiwami's biological child. Yes, Gamute was an asset to his cause, but at the same time, keeping a loose cannon that is actively trying to outright murder you is not exactly worth the risk. In my opinion, Kiwami is trying to save Gamute in his own twisted way by giving Gamute the motivation to continue living on. Kiwami knows that he is the last potential "father" on Gamute's list, which implies that Gamute would have no reason to live after he kills his "father" since he literally has nothing and nobody else in his life at that point. By incorporating Gamute into the Glass Children and even allowing him to rise to the leader, Kiwami gave Gamute a family that he knew he could never provide Gamute with. It's definitely aberrant and immoral, but this was Kiwami's best solution for a boy he never had any familial relations with. Kiwami could have simply killed Gamute the moment he was attacked, but yet, he displays a side of mercy and compassion.
I have a suspicion that the unrevealed character that was shown to be orchestrating events behind the scenes is conducting some kind of an experiment on Kiwami. Kiwami is likely suffering from amnesia as he mistook Shinoha for another person (Shintaro) in episode 10. Come to think of it, Kiwami's backstory has not been revealed yet, which I think would only be answered in his own decapitated head (death) scene.
I hope season 2 comes out and settles it. Ninjas and Gokudo. Which will triumph and which will perish?
Anyway, one critique of the art style is the feminine eyes. The shape and the eyelashes, the faces. In the end it didn’t bother me as much as in the beginning.
I kind of really liked the look of the characters, say, in Under Ninja. IMHO anyway.
It’s funny that I feel this way now, considering how close I came to dropping it after almost every episode, especially early on. And yet, for some reason, I kept coming back and ended up finishing the whole thing. I’ll admit it—Kiwami's irresistible charisma was definitely one of the things that kept me around.
Now that Shinoha and Kiwami have finally learned each other's true identities—after building trust and deepening their bond through those intense and hard moments (and Flash Princess fan talks)—it feels like the story is hitting its peak, and it still has so much more to offer. The show can’t end here. A second season, pleeeease!
BTW, Hells Coupon (which instantly regenerates lost or damaged tissues and organs) and Sako's hair suture are definitely material for a Nobel Prize.
Otherwise this was a fun ride, I hope we get another season.
