Is there any modern sci fi or slice of life anime that take place in the late 80s or early 90s

I like to watch a lot of live action shows that takes place in the late 20th century and I am curious if there are any modern day sci fi or even slice of the life anime that take place in the late 80s or early 90s, please let me know if you know any shows that take place during that time period.

>takes place in the late 20th century

Let's not do something as cruel to the old folk like me as referring to the last century like a history textbook talking about the middle ages please.

These kids don't realize how tough we had it way back when we had to fight off the dinosaurs on our way to school.

Up hill both ways too.

I can't do that anymore. Knee won't let me.

Tell me about it, my left knee has been shot for years and just got diagnosed with Degenerative Disc Disease this year. My L5 lumber vertebrae has decided to stop doing the whole being a bone thing. Think it pinched a nerve too when it shifted, I bump something with my hips and get the fun shooting nerve pain deal. Even had to start using a cane recently for the support. Getting old sucks big time.

Better "late 20th century" than a vague "in the 1900s" for anything from WWI to Y2K.

Mason Ikkoku?

Slice of life wasn't really a thing back then.

For scifi

* Macross/Robotech
* Tenchi Muyo
* Patlabor

Or are you after something that is both scifi and slice of life at the same time?

Tenchi muyo

I'm guessing you mean anime that depicts the 80s but was produced much later?

Monster. The story starts in pre-unification West Germany in the late 80s

The Ranma 1/2 and Urusei Yatsura remakes are still set in the 80s.

Generic Kowloon Romance has a 80s/90s vibe and is SciFi. It came out this year so it's also modern. Very good show. Dont skip the OP.

Fate Zero is set in 1994.
