Fantasy or medieval anime recs?
i am a huge fan of fantasy/medieval stuff like Claymore, Berserk, Frieren, Dungeon Food... (also, not animes, but Tolkien, GoT, Monthy Pyton and the holy grail, Moomin...) and also a fan of chill vibes/exploration/slice of life and stuff. does anyone have some animes to recommend? i do not like isekai most of the time cuz they feel all the same to me, but i did appreciate Mushoku Tensei, The Rising of The Shield Hero, Konosuba (for the comic relief mostly).
Also PLEASE something with a good power system (if the anime has) and not just sum random spell casting. thanks a lot!

it's that good that it is just one Manga- that is the whole title.
Chi. Chikyuu no Undou ni Tsuite
Twelve Kingdoms (this is legit portal fantasy not regular isekai)
Vinland Saga
Seirei no Moribito
Kemono no Souja Erin
Honzuki no Gekokujou (this is another isekai to appreciate)
Ookami to Koushinryou
Somali to Mori no Kamisama
Made in Abyss
Majo no Tabitabi
Shoukoku no Altair
Magi + Sinbad no Bouken (prequel)
Rune Soldier Louie
Rangnarok The Animation
Record of Lodoss War
Sacred Blacksmith
Kingdom - set in China, warring states period. It is bit light one way, bit dark another, some comic relief with MC but in general great anime.
Samurai Champloo is kinda classic and self explanatory.
Ruroni Kenshin is set in meji restoration period in Japan. Not strictly historical, more martial arts/romance thought more or less true to the period.
Basilisk is beginig of Tokugawa period, about ninjas and sort of forbidden love/romance. It is typical martial arts with lots of action and not really historic, but set in the period.
Peacemaker Kurogane is also in meiji restoration period, but opposite viewpoint of Ruroni, you follow shinsengumi. I would say its kinda good in my opinion
Goblin Slayer - typical fantasy, pretty good
Lord Marksman and Vanadis - it is fantasy in medieval Europe kinda like setting, but beware that it is also harem+light ecchi so...
Gate if you have not seen it, sort of medieval other world invades Earth but this time tanks and guns work on them so imagine what happens next to that other world ;) comic fantasy for me, but pretty good
Record of Lodoss War - classic D&D fantasy, really, give it a try. It is old school animation and looks bit dated compared to all above but it really good classical fantasy
Yona of the Dawn is sort of historical drama
Spice and Wolf - I am not if you could call it medieval, fantasy for sure with wolfgirl being one of MCs. Pretty good slice of life?
The best player Erin - medieval setting, it is really on realistic side with portrayal of peoples emotion, very good one
If you want something more slice-of-life, and don't mind an anime about medieval economics then I can certainly recommend Spice & Wolf. There's a pretty good remake that started airing in 2024.
Twelve kingdoms
Wolf's Rain
Fantastic children
Shadow's House
Yuki no Joou (tv)
