Looking For Anime That feels like Medieval Time Romance.

My Fellow Anime Viewers, I'm looking for some Medieval era Romances. I've watched The Apothecary Diaries and I absolutely loved it.

I don't care if magic or supernatural abilities are involved or the world is completely different as long as the anime catches the feel of Medieval time. Here are all the anime that I've watched and loved:

The Apothecary Diaries

Secrets of The Silent Witch

Doctor Elise: The Royal Lady With The Lamp (underrated, liked it)

7th Time Loop

The Do over damsel conquers the dragon emperor (kinda mid because of the age gap)

The World Is Still Beautiful (again, what's with all the age gaps? But I still liked it)

My Happy Marrige

Zenshu (is an Isekai, but captures the feel of Medieval time Romance)

Note: I prefer Female main character over male, as you might have noticed all the anime I've listed has Female lead, you can still recommend me the males too.

Thank You!
:D

How about the recently-completed May I Ask For One Final Thing? for your consideration...

gud_fellow2025-12-23 22:13

I've already watched that, The reason I didn't include it in the list is because I think it was boring.

CuriousBroccolli2025-12-23 22:13

"Banished from the Heroes' Party"

"Chillin' in Another World with Level 2 Super Cheat Powers"

gud_fellow2025-12-23 22:18

Seems interesting, I'll add it to the watch list.

CuriousBroccolli2025-12-23 22:20

I edited the comment so I don't know if you saw both recommendations.

gud_fellow2025-12-23 22:25

I added the first one to my watch list , second was already in my watch list tho I haven't seen it yet.

Perfect-Asparagus3002025-12-23 22:14

Spice and wolf?

Perfect-Asparagus3002025-12-23 22:16

Also reading through your list, maybe Fushigi Yuugi, Akagami no Shirayuki-hime

gud_fellow2025-12-23 22:29

I kinda pass on anime which are older, since I'm a little new to watching anime, and I want good artstyle, so I'll pass on fushigi yuugi, but the second one caught my attention. I added it to my watch list,
Thank You!

Perfect-Asparagus3002025-12-23 23:37

You're welcome! Akagami no Shirayuki-hime is really good and prolly closest to what you'd like, Spice and Wolf is a personal fav cuz the two MCs have really good dialogue/banter, but the persp is male MC rather than female like in your curr list as an fyi

gud_fellow2025-12-23 22:20

Seems interesting, I've heard it's good, I'll add it to the watch list
Thank you!

Madome

Welcome to Japan, Elf-san happens partially in modern Japan and partially in a medieval fantasy world.

gud_fellow2025-12-23 22:35

I've seen the first one, I'll add the second one to my watch list, Thank You!

SouekiSennoSTM2025-12-23 22:31

- Arte
- Madougushi Dahliya wa Utsumukanai

gud_fellow2025-12-23 22:33

Both seem interesting. I'll add them. Thank You!

mihizawi2025-12-23 22:31

Fushigi Yuugi could be an option, it's an isekai reverse harem that transports the main character girl from present day (90's) to a fantasy version of ancient china, where she becomes the priestess of one of the 4 main gods and basically has to team up with a group of guys with special powers (her guardians) to save the kingdom they are part of. There's a main romance, but all of his guardians have at least a bit of feelings towards her. However, a warning, the amount of teenage girl romance drama BS is extreme, so you have to get into a very specific mindset to be able to enjoy it.

Rose of Versailles (the 1979 anime, not the new movie) is a bit outside of what would be medieval, as it's second half of the 18th century in France, but basically it's a historical drama with quite a few important romance subplots, so if you want courtly romance, even if it's way past medeival, it's a good option. Bonus points because it is actually quite historically accurate.

The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent

Snow White with the Red Hair

Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi

Any_Statement_55072025-12-23 22:41

Not really medieval but "Emma: A Victorian Romance" might be up your alley.

gud_fellow2025-12-24 07:41

That actually seems good, thanks for the recommendation!

Dodo_Galaxy2025-12-23 23:05

gud_fellow2025-12-24 06:56
