How do I learn the video quality of old anime movies, when they came out?

I just got a portable projector to watch old anime movies like "Spirited Away" or "Pokemon: The First Movie, Mew Two Strikes Back", in my teepee when I camp in blizzards. I just stick a USB drive in it and start the movie. No wood stove yet but it's the goal.

**I'd love to watch these movies in the quality that I remembered when I was a kid, which I know was most likely terrible compared to now. I'm curious if anyone here has a good way of finding that stuff out?** My Autism often doesn't see obvious things, that I fear is about to be painfully obvious to everyone else.

So both Spirited Away and Pokemon the Movie were big wide release theatrical films that had prints struck to 35mm and as such have very high resolution copies avaliable i.e. as good if not better than now (that's the beauty of 35mm). The easiest way to figure out the quality that something is availiable in is to look up how it was released, vhs is about 240p, dvd is 480p, blu-ray allows for actual 1080p or 1080i, or know the source that your file comes from. Resolution has a number of different factors that affect perceived quality and the biggest limiting factor will likely be your projector.
