That's quite the departure from the LN/Manga art, wonder how that happened

Looks like they aged everyone a few years older.

Marry Christmas to you all

It's different from the roundness of the LN/manga art, but still looks good! I think what stands out more to me is how the lips are sometimes drawn. Kinda sharp, like a wide "v", "w", or a sideways "{". Not a negative per say, but it strangely stands out.

While there’s a chance we won’t get the great chibi face moments from the manga, they still went hard with the animation so that’s a huge plus.
These_Pear_56442025-12-24 18:29
This is one of the best romance manga/LN ever. It deserves the best anime adaption possible.
Throwaway7853202025-12-24 18:31
I wish they used manga designs
Will still watch and get diabetes
Ashamed-Dentist80822025-12-24 18:55
The animation looks insane compared to other romance animes, imo umi looks very adorable in this artstyle even though it's not accurate to the LN, Glad they went with this.
Viktorv222025-12-24 19:37
Manaka Iwami, I'm in
Waylornic2025-12-24 19:46
It’s funny in that I wonder if the art and story stick more towards the LN than the Manga, then will people complain that they “changed” it too much?
AnimusFoster7482025-12-24 20:13
I won't lie, that is quite the departure from both LN/manga art style. Also, the VA for Maki is not how I envisioned him to sound.
Xatu442025-12-24 20:39
I thought this was Doga Kobo at first from how Umi's mouth looks like Ai's. Especially since she has Akane's VA, lol.
SOxCRISPY2025-12-24 21:45
Man i want to watch this so badly but the characters dont even look the same. They look generic now.
Redderrit2025-12-24 23:17
That title still gets me
Something_3192025-12-25 03:15
I really enjoyed the LN and manga so I’m looking forward to this, but I kinda thought that Umi would have a somewhat deeper voice, she’s a bit too high-pitched for my liking
Mysterious_Cup_60242025-12-25 07:31
The face of FMC looks so strange vs the the first aníme announcement or pv images. I only flipped few pages in the manga and those had matched. This one looks weird, especially with the simpler faces yet with overdrawn oshinoko eyes
freakmechpilot2025-12-25 15:34
Im really looking forward to this. Im really hoping that they adapt the Christmas party and new years. I won't spoil it but it will really sweet.

This is reGretGirl's anime theme song debut.
Animation is decent, though Gals Can't Be Kind to Otaku is better, but I like the character design more here.
In my local anime community, Asanagi are immediately taken as one of the best girl of 2025, so I'm curious to see it more.
