Do you know any anime that feel like analog horror?

Well, it was recent when I started watching analog horror, and they were on YouTube. It kind of became an interest of mine and my college brother figure watch analog horror stuff with me. I found this kind of thing interesting, but I'm curious to know if there are official anime that kind of feel like this sort of thing.

The first one I watched was "The Boiled One Phenomenon", and then the second one I watched was "The Man in the Suit" (which was sadly canceled due to the creator receiving death threats; poor guy). I continued watching this stuff and I easily became a fan, and I am a geek with a lot of interests, ranging from Transformers, to Star Wars, Marvel, Godzilla, Mega Man, Super Sentai, etc.

Hi True-Temperature138, it seems like you might be looking for new anime to watch!

The users of this subreddit came up with [a chart of anime recommendations for newcomers and veterans](https://i.redd.it/0w1v880jtq661.png) and [an awesome longer flowchart](https://i.redd.it/vdzlkodz19c71.png). Maybe you can find something there that you'll like \^.\^

I wonder if Yamishibai would suit your needs. It's not quite analogue horror, but it has an anachronistic feel to it, based on paper theatre, so it might scratch the same itch.

I've heard of some analog horror on TikTok, but haven't watched any yet. I've heard of a vampire one that looked uncanny (in a good way).

One nice thing about Yamishibai is the episodes are really short, well under the half-hour mark, so you'll know pretty quickly if the show is worth your time.

I don't know if this counts as analog horror but, Serial Experiments Lain, perhaps. It has the aesthetics and themes of old analog technology.

Alright, then. Thanks. I'm currently watching Vita Carnis with my brother figure. It is interesting so far.

Oh great!

I've always wanted to explore analog horror but I don't know where to start. Do you have any recommendations for an absolute novice to analog horror?

True-Temperature1382025-12-25 05:40

1. The Boiled One Phenomenon (even other horror vids by Doctor Nowhere)
2. The Man in the Suit
3. Shelter 54
4. Morley Grove
5. Vita Carnis

*I actually have a YouTube channel, though I never realized I was good at making analog horror content, as all I did was come up with whatever creativity my imagination comes up with, even with limited equipment.

Not totally sure the vibe you need. Pretty sure it's not Another which is more like campy horror. Even though I'm not positive how close they come for you, I'll recommend Shinki, Boogiepop Phantom, Summer Time Rendering, and one that just aired this season Shabake

Alright then. I do appreciate the info though.

There was this short anime that aired back then around 2015 called "Kowabon". Only 3 mins per episode. But I think this one will fit the bill you're looking for of combining horror with modern technology.
