Any way to watch/stream Tokyo Godfathers English dub?

Years ago I watched and loved Tokyo Godfathers with English subtitles. However, I currently have some older relatives who aren't really able to read along subtitles at a pace to follow a movie anymore, so was hoping to find an English dubbed version to show them.

However, while I've heard the Apple TV version supposedly has an English dubbed audio track option, when I just started a free trial for Apple TV and tried to play the movie, I just get a blank page saying "This movie is no longer available". (I'm currently in the US, if the region matters)

I've been searching for the past hour or so to try to find any method to buy/rent/stream an English dub of this movie, but haven't been able to find any (I've heard there is an English dub Blue-ray, but we don't have a Blue-ray player).

Is Blue-ray currently the only available English dub version of this film, or is there some source I've missed?

I've noticed there are ways you could legitimately salvage the English dub on the high seas

Let's just say that if you put the capital letters (and period) in a search bar, it'll lead you to a special place that can help you find the movie.

Go to the beginners guide on that site, look for the anime section and look for a link there that also begins with the word tokyo

Were you able to find it?

SleeplessInSomething2025-12-25 17:16

Unfortunately the only method to legally stream/watch the English dub version I've been able to find so far is supposedly the Blu-ray version, and we don't have a Blu-ray player.

Its free on Tubi. Dont even have to make an account. Ads tho

Other option is to purchase it on Blu-Ray for under $20 on Amazon (DVD is also under $20).

Also according to JustWatch.com it should be on Crunchyroll in both English & Japanese.

SleeplessInSomething2025-12-25 17:09

Sadly we do not have a Blu-Ray player.

I saw a listing like that for crunchyroll, set up a free trial, and then discovered crunchyroll does not have Tokyo Godfathers at all. When I went back to check the listing on JustWatch, I noticed it just said "Watch similar movies on crunchyroll" but not that it actually had Tokyo Godfathers, unfortunately.

Gaming console like PS4/XBox have built in Blu-Ray players. The stand alone players are really cheap now (you could probably find one at Goodwill).

I watched it on Tubi just the other day, it was the subbed version. Hope that helps!

found the torr! search satoshi kon via threeteenthree7. it is within a dual audio movie pack and you can just select the one you want. honestly quite difficult to locate, i had tried others which looked hopeful but those had all stalled out. Merry Christmas!!!

I just watched it on Apple TV but I paid to rent it.
