Tbh its not generic for an anime these days, even though its your typical revenge + found family type show its a breath of fresh air in a smoggy mountain of slop haha.
My biggest issue with it is pacing, I think. Its jarring to see them stand and talk about nothing for episodes at a time. Rudo is also sometimes a bit infuriating to see interacting with people; he's such a lobotomite lol. When it slaps it slaps though.

And yes, Rudo is dumb. I might be dumb but it could have something to do with with how he basically only interacted with like 2 people his entire life on essentially a small culturally isolated island while also in poverty. But I could be wrong.
At least every time he does something wrong he learns from it.

I know Rudo is socially stunted. I don't mind him making less-than-ideal decisions. Doesn't make it more enjoyable to watch him be clueless and stunned for 2 episodes in a row, though.
Anyway, don't get too offended by my remark, I like the show overall?

The pacing is definitely not the best, multiple episodes I felt like "there should've something more in this episode".
It's not the worst but could be better a lot of the time.

Nah the pacing could be better. The "everyone separates into their own fights" trope kills pacing inevitably, like it did here.
You don't need the villain to monologue over the course of episodes. Episodes 15-20 could use some tightening.
