Hardly a surprise but I wonder if Crunchyroll would also get their hands on it. There’s precedent; they had Kotesashi-kun uncensored just this season.

This is tagged Erotica on MAL rather than just being Ecchi with an R+ rating. Crunchyroll does have at least one thing on that level, but I don't think there's been any in the past few years.

That sounds promising.

The one that I'm aware of is Seven Mortal Sins, because I learned at one point that they actually dubbed it, which is crazy for Crunchyroll. They had Peter Grill sub-only at one point, but given that's primarily a Sentai license, they might have lost it since. And there are probably others, but I couldn't tell you offhand. I don't really actually watch that kind of thing, it's just information I've absorbed.

Crunchyroll [had at the start of the year](https://web.archive.org/web/20250116125218/https://www.crunchyroll.com/series/G60XNWQVR/peter-grill-and-the-philosophers-time) but seems to be a recent loss (Amazon Prime Channels and YouTube versions of CR still have it for now).

Just last week I compared the current title list with one from earlier this year (both obtained through the API from Latin America so no US-only titles), and the removed titles were basically this, Handa-kun and that one Oregairu season.

Pretty sure it Valkyrie drive mermaid

The manga has multiple explicit sex scenes, and Crunchyroll made it clear following their acquisition of RightStuf that erotica was a no-go. This isn’t even just a “you see bare titties and hear some moans” kinda thing - the very first page of the manga is (NSFW) [Does It Count If You Lose Your Virginity to an Android?] >!the main character being fingered by the android!<.
So, it wouldn’t surprise me if Crunchyroll just didn’t try to license this.

Isn't this a surprise? This is OceanVeil, after all, and they're still a pretty small operation in the scheme of things.
It feels like they're stepping up their game with not one but *two* simuldubs.
Emergency_Sound_57182025-12-26 19:50
It's mostly WWWave, OceanVeil is just their western branch.
Mysterious_Cup_60242025-12-26 14:02
Didn't Crunchyroll made very subtle alterations in their copy of Takamine san. I recall there was talk of a split second frame showing Takamine's "fold" down there which was removed in Crunchyroll but present in Mtx airing. 2 other episodes supposedly also had the same change
mr_beanoz2025-12-26 05:47
Not surprising if they took this show, looks like something up their alley alright.
CrimsonGear802025-12-26 06:13
The answer to that question is NO, BTW
GleamingGalacticGarm2025-12-26 07:07
[Of course not, it only counts after the Aquarium date.](https://www.reddit.com/r/yurimemes/comments/z09f5c/aquarium_dates_are_the_first_step_before_marriage/)
zairaner2025-12-26 10:47
Please don't spread fake news like this, this is specifically about wether it is officially a yuri. This doesn't answer the question of the title.
charistraz952025-12-26 06:53
was not expecting a dub for this one
Primary-Paint-17162025-12-26 13:11
the manga is damn raunchy.
burger4life2025-12-26 15:08
I've seen enough. Give OceanVeil an Asumi-chan adaptation in 2026!
