Is it disgusting to watch yuri anime as a boy?
This is a 100% serious question, and it's mostly directed at girls. Sometimes I watch yuri anime/manga, and I genuinely like them, but the image of a guy watching this kind of anime makes me feel kind of disgusted.
To whoever reads this (thank you so much for reading), I'd like to hear your opinion on this topic and whether you find it pathetic or something else entirely.

I love Yuri and have been watching it for 15 years now.
But there are different trends based on where yuri are published. For example, the moe-ish and playful types (see Sakura Trick or Tonari no Kyuuketsuki-san) are predominantly found in seinen magazines like Comic Cune or many of the Kiraras. Bringing this back to Yuri Hime, it's no coincidence the most noteworthy Yuri Hime S holdover is Yuru Yuri.
This is a comment thread. Of course people are going to comment on things. And also you said something ridiculous.
It is completely plausible to think something that someone said was stupid, comment about why what they said is stupid without secretly agreeing to their stupidity. You do you player.
It is literally hundreds of times more likely that a dude would watch Yuri because they enjoy watching two women flirt with each other in addition to the main plot of the show than it is because they're coming to a realization that they're trans. Not everything is about your specific sexuality.

Do I want to talk to someone about Yuri or listen to someone (boy or girl or whatever) trying to get me to watch yuri? No, because I have no interest in Yuri. I'm a straight married man, and I don't read yaoi manga either.
Which is fine, if you're not interested in media that has that in it. But otherwise, just watch whatever you're interested in watching.
Most yuri (maybe GL is the better word) shows are intended for the heterosexual male audience. Similarly, most BL shows are intended for the heterosexual female audience.
It's extremely clear when you go to Japan and can physically see the audience.
Nah, yuri audiences in both Japan and abroad have a relatively even gender split.

Idk, there were a number of women at events like [GLfes](https://www.lovefes.info/) when I went...
Your interest in the topic is normal and your perspective is mainstream.
I just don't understand the appeal of the genre, and that's fine.
But, I do know that Yuri fans get defensive about defending shows of that genre (that's fine too, it just shows that Yuri anime are relatively rare compared to non-Yuri.
Like that one time I said that I didn't know that Gushing over Magical Girls was Yuri (I just thought it was a funny comedy anime), then I got mass downvoted by Yuri fans XD. I never understood what was so offensive about showing enthusiasm over the comedy.
I thought yuri's definitive target audience was boys... until my sister recently started reading **She Wasn't a Guy**
Serious question, do girls like this? Is it mostly women who write this?
