This one has always haunted me. I had it on a VHS tape when I was a kid, but have since moved to another country. Yet it remains burned in my core memories.

The title was a single Japanese word. Perhaps a name or place, with at least three syllables.

It was VERY similar in tone and style to Ninja Scroll... almost to the point where it might have been a rip-off or spinoff of that.

Plot involves a wandering swordsman who arrives in town and finds it being oppressed by a mad inventor (your typical shrieky squinting old goblinoid dude). He has various robotic vehicles and the like), but also seems to take orders from a powerful "witch" - one who frequently takes off all her clothes and lounges around on her throne.

They are served by an army of dark-clad ninjas who wear oni-like masks. But these masks sometimes sprout metal spider legs and crawl away, leaving the body of the ninja to dissolve into smoke. These same robo-spiders also frequently crawl over the witch, acting like her pets.

Everything comes to a head with the swordsman saving the love interest, just as the inventor's steampunk chariots are exploding. But then the witch strikes from the shadows, tossing her kimono over the two leads. The garment traps them in a pocket dimension where they are tortured by their own fears or something. The witch remains standing over them and gloating, while naked.

Finally, the swordsman digs deep and thrusts his sword out of the nightmare world. It pierces the kimono and skewers the witch, right between the bewbs. She dies, and is revealed to be a robot... one of the mad inventor's most prized prototypes. The inventor later finds her body, just as it explodes and takes them both out.

Swordsman leaves town, yadda yadda, and my sexual awakening is complete.

I have searched far and wide, but to no avail. Perhaps this one is lost to history. But it was remarkably good...
