Gachiakuta has a serious case for being the drippiest anime ever.

Can we get a spoiler warning on this one?
Thoraxe4742025-12-26 19:26
Here you go: spoiler warning
chemical_exe2025-12-26 20:08
Why would somebody worried about spoilers click on a clip of the show they don't want spoiled?
PaperHashashin2025-12-26 21:51
Maybe not knowing it possesses spoilers until it's clicked? I have unsubscribed to the internet so it doesn't ruin my viewing experience 😂
chemical_exe2025-12-26 22:15
If you are sensitive to spoilers and you click on clips from a show you haven't finished yet, then it's not the internet ruining the show; you ruined it for yourself.
The sub even has a rule about the episode the clips are from need to be at least a week old just to avoid having this conversation lol.
Castor_0il2025-12-26 23:23
> The sub even has a rule about the episode the clips are from need to be at least a week old just to avoid having this conversation lol.
That doesn't exclude actual spoilers from events that lead to a resolution of a plot point. If you read the sub [rules](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/wiki/rules#wiki_do_not_post_untagged_spoilers) it doesn't say anything in the clip section that ALL clips are excluded from the spoiler rule after a week of it's original broadcast. While it does state *"A spoiler is a piece of information from a show that knowledge of without having seen the show could negatively impact a viewer's experience."*
If you browse [all clips from the sub](https://old.reddit.com/r/anime/search?sort=new&restrict_sr=on&q=flair%3AClip), you'll find plenty of clips that are spoiler tagged, and a lot of the times the mods themselves do this to avoid people getting spoiled from crucial plotpoints. For instance, [yesterday clip of MHA](https://old.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/1pvjqle/deku_slingshots_bakugo_mha_s8/) had to be labeled as a spoiler by the main mod.
I'm pretty sure that if a mod is summoned here they will enforce the spoiler tag on this clip. pagging /u/N7CombatWombat
chemical_exe2025-12-26 23:53
"had to be labeled" Yeah, we've got real different definitions of "have" here. We're talking about a clip of a show, it inherently has spoilers because it's an excerpt from the show. People have the inability to use common sense here. The venn diagram of people that lose their minds about spoilers and the people that would open a "do not open - dead dove inside" bag is just a circle.
There's still no reason to even mark that MHA clip as a spoiler - it says it right there MHA Season 8. If you are in season 1 the fact that Deku is even wearing that outfit could be considered a spoiler. I promise there's an argument for any clip to be marked spoiler (except *maybe* something from early in episode 1 of a show?).
Imo, every clip should just automatically be marked spoiler because it seems tautologically true the way it's being enforced. But it seems to lack nuance of separating two facts like [Star Wars original trilogy] >!Luke has a green lightsaber and Vader is Luke's father, y'know?!<
Castor_0il2025-12-27 00:02

I'm going to stop you there and won't even bother reading the rest of your post because you just haven't got a clue of where you're standing.
You don't like a sub's rules? You can go create your own sub with your own rules ~~with blackjack and hookers~~ (this is the golden rule of reddit).
N7CombatWombat2025-12-26 23:35
Castor is correct, we're purposely strict on spoilers here because we know that there are always new anime fans who haven't seen a thing, and people who are already fans don't watch everything soon after it comes out. We don't have time limits on spoilers and if you were posting a story spoiler for the 1960's Astro Boy, we'd still expect it to be properly spoiler tagged.
And the week wait on clips isn't about spoilers, it's about karma farming and trying to keep the discussion relatively contained to the episode discussion post for as long as possible (which is why we don't allow posts about the latest episode of a show for the first 24 hours the episode discussion post is up).
chemical_exe2025-12-26 23:48
>it's about karma farming and trying to keep the discussion relatively *contained to the episode discussion post*
And it has a very obvious "you're at least 2 episodes behind if you haven't seen this clip before effect." Also, we'd call episode discussions spoilers if they didn't have the discussion flair. So if the argument is we're keeping the spoilers contained to the spoiler discussion then I really think we're talking about the same thing here.
>because we know that there are always new anime fans who haven't seen a thing, and people who are already fans don't watch everything soon after it comes out
And both of those types of people shouldn't click on clips of things if they are worried about spoilers? Does adding a spoiler flair really make these people less likely to click on it? Is there ever a clip worth sharing that *doesn't* contain a spoiler?
You can obviously be strict with it - it's your sub, but I wonder how draconian you'd have to be to actually meet your goal.
N7CombatWombat2025-12-26 23:59
Some clips don't have spoilers and some people like to check out a clip to check out the animation quality, voice acting, music, to see if they want to watch a show. And we're as "draconian" as we need to be and we do enforce the spoiler rules. Obviously, you don't have to agree with the rules, you just need to follow them, and if you would like to have a deeper discussion and/or suggest possible changes to our current rules, I encourage you to make a comment in our [Monthly Meta Thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/1pg3xx6/meta_thread_month_of_december_07_2025/), we have that post to help concentrate meta issues regarding the sub and how it's run so we can refer back to them more easily when we discuss things brought up in that post.
Castor_0il2025-12-27 00:00

How would anyone that hasn't reached this point of the story would know that without watching at the very least a few seconds of the clip?
Secondly, the mods don't keep spoilers contained to just discussion episodes my guy. As N7CombatWombat already stated the mod team from this sub are very strict regarding spoilers, no matter the date of the anime, manga movie or book, etc.
>And both of those types of people shouldn't click on clips of things if they are worried about spoilers? Does adding a spoiler flair really make these people less likely to click on it?
Uh. Duh, yes it makes people more wary about spoilers from media they haven't reached to that point. This isn't like some new rule, this is old school internet coding from almost 30 years ago.
If someone sees a discussion, clip, artwork or whatever type of content on this sub labeled as "spoiler" they are being warned about it by just looking at the label. You're forced to click twice (if you're on any kind of browser) to see the content, reddit apps have even less safety locks towards spoiler tagged content, specially if they are left as default to autoplay vids and other embedded media.
Spoiler tags are great security measures for everyone. You don't care for spoilers? That's okay, you can freely click the spoiler button and see the content. Let others who don't want to be spoiled decide by looking at a spoiler warning beforehand.
>You can obviously be strict with it - it's your sub, but I wonder how draconian you'd have to be to actually meet your goal.
My guy, they have created this rule since the birth of the sub 17 years ago. This isn't even some outlandish draconian rule, it's basic internet etiquette that has worked for literally years. Source? I'm old as f*ck and have been browsing discussion forums since the the late 90s.
chemical_exe2025-12-27 00:19
Calm down, you're thinking I'm 1. mad at the subs rules and 2. mad at people? not really sure
>How would anyone that hasn't reached this point of the story would know that without watching at the very least a few seconds of the clip?
They are at least 2 episodes behind in the show and the title may give clues without even watching if it has things they don't recognize. I'm not following why they would think it *couldn't* contain spoilers.
>Secondly, the mods don't keep spoilers contained to just discussion episodes my guy. As N7CombatWombat already stated the mod team from this sub are very strict regarding spoilers, no matter the date of the anime, manga movie or book, etc.
That's fine, all clips should be marked as spoilers by default and I'm not sure how a strict anti spoiler policy would prevent that from being true. The appeal should be the other way around (this is not a spoiler) if this is the goal - I do plan on bringing that up in the post the mod linked to next time they have that post.
>Uh. Duh, yes it makes people more wary about spoilers from media they haven't reached to that point. This isn't like some new rule, this is old school internet coding from almost 30 years ago.
Seems to be fine in, say, sports subreddits. But my main question is this level of self control vs the fact that people are already behind on the show.
>If someone sees a discussion, clip, artwork or whatever type of content on this sub labeled as "spoiler" they are been warned about it by just looking at the label. You're forced to click twice (if you're on any kind of browser) to see the content.
I don't have to click twice on either the reddit app or the version of reddit I use (old.reddit).
>My guy, they have created this rule since the birth of the sub 17 years ago. This isn't even some outlandish draconian rule, it's basic internet etiquette that has worked for literally years. Source? I'm old as f*ck and have been browsing discussion forums since the the late 90s.
Hello fellow internet senior citizen. I'm **not** saying the rule is draconian. I'm saying to truly reach their goal - avoiding spoilers for "new anime fans who haven't seen a thing, and people who are already fans don't watch everything soon after it comes out" I wonder how draconian you'd have to be.
Castor_0il2025-12-27 05:56
> Calm down, you're thinking I'm 1. mad at the subs rules and 2. mad at people? not really sure
You are calling the rules draconian while acting entitled about your own ignorance about the rules (that you obviously didn't bother to read in the first place) both me and the main mod had explained to you. Don't know if you're mad or not, but you certainly are contemptuous about it.
>They are at least 2 episodes behind in the show and the title may give clues without even watching if it has things they don't recognize. I'm not following why they would think it couldn't contain spoilers.
Why would people have to be "looking at fine details" before watching a clip, rather than just have a label that says "spoiler" to warn them? A simple label is far more useful than expecting people to jump thru hoops to avoid themselves getting spoilered, specially if they are using the app to browse reddit for quick and easy to digest content.
Again, N7CombatWombat already explained it to you in fine detail why not all clips contain spoilers, and some are safe to watch for newcomers that want to experience a new series. This clip on the other hand provides the resolution of a plot point that had already several episodes of story unfold. I seriously don't know why things have to be "your way" when again, simply having all kinds of posts being labeled as spoiler or not help both types of audiences that are already watching/finished watching or those that haven't watched it at all.
You can bring in your "complain" to the meta discussion post, but N7CombatWombat was just being educated, your complain is going to be shut down by all the mods and everyone will move on with the rules that have worked quite fine for probably way more time that you have spent on this sub so far. Again, if you don't like the subs rules you can openly go create your own sub.
>But my main question is this level of self control vs the fact that people are already behind on the show.
People who can't control themselves over spoilers get severely warned by mods to even being temporarily banned if they don't abide by the spoiler rules. Trust me, I've seen this happen in the past in the sub. They do this in order to protect people who are behind on the show because not everyone will be up to date.
>Hello fellow internet senior citizen. I'm not saying the rule is draconian.
You literally said that the mods are draconian about their rules that you don't seem to agree with. *"You can obviously be strict with it - it's your sub, but I wonder how draconian you'd have to be to actually meet your goal."* The rest of your argument is just semantics.
I'm not going to waste any more time explaining things like you're 5, so I'll just block you to stop this non sense from your behalf.
PaperHashashin2025-12-27 17:38
Whew, I see this sub is reasonable and thoughtful of others. I figured it'd be reasonable enough to think spoiler warnings would be on a show that's still releasing episodes. YEESH!

The greatest character in a show full of great characters. I was waiting since they introduced her for a little kaiju action and it did not disappoint when we finally got some. Though we do need some more kaiju action from her, hopefully we'll get some of that in S2.
MinnWild92025-12-26 21:10
She's definitely my favorite of the cleaners, but the villains in the show take the cake, IMO. Jabber and Bundus are both awesome for completely different reasons.

I feel ripped off that we didn't get to see her throw down with any of the raiders. Probably did it because she would have stolen the show.
WiqidBritt2025-12-26 23:08
It felt like a tease for a future fight. Seems like the manga is more than willing to take its time with things. Like, there's another world where Zanka beats Jabber in their second fight and showing off the potential of his hard work, but they're willing to let him lose again so that when he (hopefully) does get stronger the build up to it is better.
Nero_PR2025-12-27 04:49
In before people come saying how Zanka is the potential man of Gachiakuta.
Meiolore2025-12-27 11:38
I mean, Zanka is the opposite of potential man. He himself acknowledge that he has no potential.
NecroCannon2025-12-26 22:25
Anyone that hasn’t watched it but is thinking “I should watch this”
DO IT
If you love Soul Eater, I couldn’t picture a better spiritual successor that’ll be a 2020s time capsule. Same studio too(Bones). I kept seeing this shit around everywhere, loved the art, but never checked it out. It’s at a point now where a binge would make you fall in love, especially the dub. The dub is going to make this shit pop off quick in the west like Soul Eater and FMA
And with MHA wrapping up, they’re definitely about to kick this up a bunch to have another massive hit.
MrHara2025-12-26 23:32
Don't mention FMA when talking about this show please. One is a solid 9 and one is an okay 6.
NecroCannon2025-12-26 23:39
Well it’s a good thing hardly anyone talks about FMA *because* it’s a classic. It’s actually best to mention FMA because the amount of people that haven’t seen it in these spaces is starting to grow, and the best advertisement, is saying something raved about currently has the same care
Not being a chud that got “I make sure to low rate any anime that surpasses FMAB on MAL” energy. Acting like that is just going to push people away more than gravitate to it, it’s called, staying humble.
MrHara2025-12-26 23:46
I couldn't care less about that, there's plenty of stuff I've rated above it. Also, edit, 8.5, forgot that I changed it .5 when I moved to anilist.
Just don't compare it something that actually cares about writing a decent story instead of being all style. It would be like putting FMA next to Fire Force. They are not in the same running. Though, I did rate FF over Gachi.
NecroCannon2025-12-26 23:52
If someone wants to put FF next to FMA then they can, FF’s world is pretty unique. Who are *you* though to decide that? Am I talking to the ambassador of everyone’s opinions?
What someone feels is how they feel, that’s what art is. To decide it for yourself, isn’t even appreciating the thing you rally for in its name. The thing that’s what it is, because the creator explores and appreciates wider perspectives and cultures. I can’t even call people like that true fans, that’s my opinion though.
MrHara2025-12-26 23:53
I think you need to chill a bit. That was also my opinion lol.
NecroCannon2025-12-26 23:58
Dude, I want you to look at yourself from the outside for a second because maybe you’ll learn something. You came to me, told me to not compare FMA to a show you don’t like as much, I tell you that it’s not even appreciating the creator to act like that, and now you’re like “chill bro”
You could just admit, maybe I have a point. You don’t gotta try to flip the table of something you came in with no chill, that wasn’t cool at all. Your point is to not respect an opinion just to turn around and try to act like doing what you did that’s the same as what I just said. Deciding what someone else feels, isn’t an opinion.
MrHara2025-12-27 00:09
What are you even on about? I didn't address that point about appreciating the creator because it wasn't anything I was talking about. I couldn't even tell you who made FMA. People here are too online to talk to. I think I need to stop visting these subreddits, I'm gonna watch more anime instead.
NecroCannon2025-12-27 02:14
Dude, you literally did the most online shit being like “nah, stop comparing things to FMA” stop acting like you’re not saying the most neckbeard shit then getting weird when someone ain’t entertaining it
MrHara2025-12-27 08:38
You're the one who brought it up haha.
Look, maybe my tone might have been towards gatekeepery, but I did just want to say "It's not as good, like, to me." and I've been in a few too many discussions about this show where nobody has given me any good reasons they enjoyed the show so I'm a bit tired of it.

I tried to like this show but I just cant get over how ugly it is.
thelastgooberofGolb2025-12-27 01:41
Not ugly, stylized. If it's not to your tastes that's fine but calling it ugly just because it doesn't conforms to typical animation styles is unfair.
PartRight64062025-12-27 02:36
Did i say objectively or was i stating an opinion? Talking about unfair while getting offended at an opinion is pretty wild. My opinion still stands. This show is ugly. It is also stylized. It can be both things.
thelastgooberofGolb2025-12-27 02:50
The only one getting offended here is you because someone dared to disagree with you lol. Also, funny as hell to see you claim you were only "giving an opinion" meanwhile you just said "this show is ugly" like a fact. Like cmon bro, who are you trying to fool here? You see your opinion as a fact.
Elegant-Anywhere-7862025-12-27 04:10
Why are you getting so upset at that guy for having an opinion?
thelastgooberofGolb2025-12-27 05:21
I'm not, he's the one upset someone disagreed with him.
Elegant-Anywhere-7862025-12-27 09:10
I don't know. Looks like they shared an opinion, even if it is unpopular, and you went in. You then became emotional when they stated that they had an opinion. Looks to me like you saw some low-hanging fruit and just decided to go in.

"He should get his dick torn off!", if my memory serves me correctly, was wild. Almost felt bad for the kidnapper for a moment.
MaloraKeikaku2025-12-27 10:56
All the people in here saying "so cool/stylish I should watch this": YES DO IT! Gachiakuta is easily the surprise of the year for me. It has so much style, the characters are really interesting, the world is so weird and makes me curious what is out there, and the animation and music go absolutely crazy!
Also guita is awesome lmao, lil kaiju loving girl using her onesie to become a kaiju herself, sick af concept
I can't wait for season 2, easily the best shounen that came out this year and the most interesting new shounen in a few years for me!

>That's fine, all clips should be marked as spoilers by default and I'm not sure how a strict anti spoiler policy would prevent that from being true.
DO IT
If you love Soul Eater, I couldn’t picture a better spiritual successor that’ll be a 2020s time capsule.
Not being a chud that got “I make sure to low rate any anime that surpasses FMAB on MAL” energy. Acting like that is just going to push people away more than gravitate to it, it’s called, staying humble.
Just don't compare it something that actually cares about writing a decent story instead of being all style. It would be like putting FMA next to Fire Force. They are not in the same running. Though, I did rate FF over Gachi.
Look, maybe my tone might have been towards gatekeepery, but I did just want to say "It's not as good, like, to me." and I've been in a few too many discussions about this show where nobody has given me any good reasons they enjoyed the show so I'm a bit tired of it.
I love her voice so much and her transformation is epic!
Yes it is.
"He should get his dick torn off!", if my memory serves me correctly, was wild. Almost felt bad for the kidnapper for a moment.
Also guita is awesome lmao, lil kaiju loving girl using her onesie to become a kaiju herself, sick af concept
I can't wait for season 2, easily the best shounen that came out this year and the most interesting new shounen in a few years for me!
