Is there a good alternate to Crunchyroll in the US?
I hate their UI so much, having to scroll midpage to find out what came out recently. I've been looking a Hulu and Netflix but they don't seem to have the same release schedules.

Legally, not really if Crunchyroll has the anime you want to watch as they have the most exclusives. Though if the Ui is the issue maybe some of them [are also available through Amazon Prime](https://help.crunchyroll.com/hc/en-us/articles/20287383632276-Crunchyroll-channel-available-on-Amazon-Prime), I'm not entirely sure how that works.
shirts212025-12-26 19:22
you still need a crunchy account. but you use the Amazon prime UI. it's odd.
dienomighte2025-12-26 19:28
Crunchyroll through prime has stories of having terrible machine learning subs for some shows
Durinthal2025-12-26 19:30
Are they different than what's on Crunchyroll? I'd be curious to see a comparison if anyone's done one.
dienomighte2025-12-26 19:53
Sometimes! It's weird

If you think they're bad, try Hidive!
There isn't really a better option than Crunchyroll. You might luck out with some stuff being on the bigger general streaming services though.

if they hate CR's UI im afraid they'll find Hidive's even worse.
centfox2025-12-27 16:40
That's what I was getting at.
nour1121212025-12-27 21:33
ah, I feel stupid now. It's hard to read someone's tone from text
centfox2025-12-27 21:44
Since you got as many up votes, you're probably not the only one! I wouldn't feel too bad.
Muzaks222025-12-26 19:25
The UI sucks complete ass but there’s lots of goodies on there. Only reason I tolerate the UI lmao

Hidive has some good hidden gems. They recently got rights to food wars and they have danmachi and girls und panzer. They just released girls und panzer das finale part 4 recently and more girl und panzer anime series releasing next year.

Unfortunately, CR has a near-monopoly on the sheer *volume* of weekly releases. Hulu probably comes out as Second. But Since your main issue is "scrolling to find what came out recently," the best fix isn't actually a different streaming service. It's using a calendar site as your dashboard.

Well, every streaming platform has their own list of anime. Some anime are on multiple platforms while some are exclusive. Netflix for example has a lot of great anime not on CrunchyRoll, like season 3 of Kimi ni Todoke unless something changed. With all that said, CrunchyRoll is still the largest anime streaming service, so there are a lot of exclusives you would miss out on with CR. As mentioned though, there are also a bunch of anime on multiple platforms too.
My biggest recommendation would actually be this somewhat obscure service called HiDive. Maybe some people will quibble with how well known it is, but HiDive has a lot of exclusives, and I think many of them are better than the ones CR has. So I would try it out.

Crunchyroll gets the most new anime each season by far, but there are plenty of great options for overall anime catalogues - Hulu/Disney+, Netflix and HiDive are the main ones. As someone who much prefers binge watching to weekly seasonals, it's rare that I ever subscribe to Crunchyroll.

Legal services are not quality services when it comes to anime streaming.
It's a real shame, wish I could tell you otherwise.
Also, this subreddit only allows the discussion of legal websites. Just keep paying money for a poor streaming service.
