GhostInABucketJar2025-12-27 11:51
Nice to see this is continuing, tho I wonder how anime only fans will take it?
noctaviann2025-12-27 11:58
I'm pretty sure that most of the people who would have an issue with the plot of the movie stopped watching this series after the first season.
tapeforpacking2025-12-27 11:58
Damn does something crazy happen? It seems to involve his family so id assume so
noctaviann2025-12-27 12:08
\[Mahouka, but especially the Yotsuba Succession movie spoilers\] >!He gets engaged to his sister. This is where the incestuous teasing from seasons past turns into official, family sanctioned incest.!<
Lodju2025-12-27 12:20
Well as an anime only i don't have a problem with that.
And i kinda knew something along those lines was coming even before i checked the spoiler.
onichan-daisuki2025-12-27 13:01
Oshi no ko if it was peak
silvertwo7772025-12-27 15:39
Damn right. Oshi no ko fumbled hard.
IM_REFUELING2025-12-27 15:15
It was inevitable really
Tonebriz2025-12-27 17:13
At least one of these authors is actually committing to it
Arighetto2025-12-27 17:26
Damn maybe I should catch up on this series.
ChiggaOG2025-12-27 22:32
I don't know if this needed a spoiler tag. It was clear to me it was incest from season 1. What the author does is another story.
The incest genre is older than most people know. The first incest drama I saw as a kid was the 2002 K-Drama series Winter Sonata that became widely popular in Japan which resulted in an anime adaptation.

Tbh, I'm only here for Hayamin and Saito Chiwa. As long as I feel entertained, I don't care about the rest
electrictuna2025-12-27 19:17
That’s where I’m at.
PrinceZero19942025-12-27 12:16
The last season was meh, the last movie was bad, but I still want to watch more. Might be my last season of the show if it's not good.
noctaviann2025-12-27 12:20
Yotsuba Succession is a movie, not a TV series. It's being released in theaters. I don't know when it's going to be released on streaming websites.
dark_sylinc2025-12-27 15:40
Anime only here. I use wikis and reddit posts to pretty much orient myself on what's going on. It's a huge shame because there's a lot of unadapted content.
But it's hard to follow. But I suspect we're all in a similar bandwagon when a series has been running for +10 years. There are characters or plot points I completely forgot from earlier seasons.
The reason I stick to the series is because I like the magic explanation. The author seems to have an engineering DSP background. Magic is basically "Psion Particles" instead of electricity, tons of wave function theory, + The Matrix. Author even covers how the principle of conservation of energy is preserved in a world with magic. That is extremely rare (except for shows where it's a core concept like FMA with the law of equivalent exchange).
I also like how the series treats walking nukes in a realistic way with military setting.

Releases in cinemas (Japan): May 8th 2026
Really getting that mob family vibe here, lighting in the visual is gorgeous
Very glad to finally have a release date, not surprised it slipped out of the original "Winter" timeframe given they just said "2026" in the last update

In all seriousness this ([Volume 16](https://yenpress.com/titles/9781975332518-the-irregular-at-magic-high-school-vol-16-light-novel)) is where I think the series reached it's peak.
MishouMai2025-12-27 19:51
Sounds like the series goes downhill from here. I dropped off early into the first season. Does this volume work as an ending (and is the anime worth catching up on to watch this?) if one did want to drop out here?
AutMcD2025-12-27 20:14
No. It’s only getting better from here imo. While succession arc is absolute peak, there are better arcs further down.
PotatEXTomatEX2025-12-27 13:42
Say Byeonara to the school part of the title lmao
Next-Discipline76902025-12-27 13:50
Theres a group of mangakas that simply go around creating Whatever-High School stuff they feel like.
MightyActionGaim2025-12-27 16:51
This is actually a novel but okay
alotmorealots2025-12-27 23:03
> that simply go around creating
That is what authors tend to do, yes.

I love this show and always wanted to thanked that person that wrote essays on the missing novel parts on each episode.
Other_Total55362025-12-27 18:55
This series is quintessential "Anime"
So many tried and true tropes, weird incest plotline, and a ridiculously OP protagonist.
Just so absurd and I feel that's what makes it so great
potato_tempest2025-12-27 19:28
I think I head s2 came but haven't watched it yet
battler6242025-12-27 21:21
