The users of this subreddit came up with [a chart of anime recommendations for newcomers and veterans](https://i.redd.it/0w1v880jtq661.png) and [an awesome longer flowchart](https://i.redd.it/vdzlkodz19c71.png). Maybe you can find something there that you'll like \^.\^

Also for my general recs I’ve seen quite a bit of anime in the 2020s and my top 2 are Frieren and Bocchi the Rock. You might like them
Attack on titan
Gachiakuta
Chainsaw man
Tomodachi game
Deadman wonderland
Kabaneri of the iron fotress
Summertime rendering
Psycho pass
The promised neverland
Beyond the boundary
•**fantasy/isekai** (modern fantasy worlds)- then I recommend:
- **Sword art online** - virtual worlds, adventure, romance; very mainstream.
- **Re:Zero** - Darker, psychological fantasy; if you want something more emotional and intense.
- **The Rising of the Shield hero** - Classic “reluctant hero in another world” story with action and character growth.
•**comedy/slice of life** (if you liked Fairy Tail's humor)
- **Konosuba** -Over the top fantasy parody, hilarious if you liked the comedic guild moments in Fairy Tail.
- **That time I got reincarnated as a slime** -Lighthearted adventure, fun world-building, with a likable protagonist.
•**Shōnen / Action / Adventure**
-**Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood** - Perfect mix of action, story, humor, and emotional depth
-**Hunter x Hunter** -If you liked Fairy Tail for adventure and friendship, this one is a must-watch.
-**Bleach** - Soul Reapers, epic battles, and stylish action sequences.Especially good for someone who liked Fairy Tail’s fight-heavy episodes.
-**Blue Exorcist** -Magic, demons, and a fun, heartwarming brotherly bond.Very shōnen-friendly, but with modern animation.
Hope this helped!
