Hype. I need to catch up. Have put it on hold since finishing Season 4.
AbleSeaworthiness3932025-12-27 22:56
This is the best anime I watched . Normally you want some stories, powers or some fantasy world but this anime is different. This is the anime where you can truly connect and just follow their I can do it and I will do it mindset!
ForbiddenSun12025-12-28 03:02
Oh you havent seen Kanki gift that's a shame
AbleSeaworthiness3932026-01-12 01:05
Is it manga thing? I am only caught up with anime
ForbiddenSun12026-01-12 06:41
its in season 5 tbf it's not that visible.
notanfan2025-12-27 16:48
my friend recommended this to me a while back haven't got time to read manga as first and second season are pretty bad

Ok better than it already being over for me before I knew it!!!!!!!!! Thanks!
jeff01062026-01-02 04:50
I guess if you want the 38 episode seasons (Season 1) we'd have to go back to bad CGI.
SoundWild2025-12-27 16:54
Season 6 was fire, can't wait for this sequel. The battles were insane this season
Shaquille012025-12-27 16:57
Where is the rest of the Dub??
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Knuckleheaded-beardo2025-12-27 16:58
I'm with you, pal. We need all of it dubbed.
MelvinSmiley832025-12-27 17:10
Maybe they should consider remastering the first seasons because I tried getting into this series and it looked so bad I found them literally unwatchable. And I don't even have high standards when it comes to animation.
BluePhantomHere2025-12-27 17:21
Skip the first season by reading the manga until chapter 173 and continue with the anime. Season 2 is more bearable and the show had an upgrade on the animation and music starting from season 3
MelvinSmiley832025-12-27 17:30
That sounds reasonable, thanks.
peter123yeah2025-12-27 17:35
You could also watch the 4 LA movies which cover all of S1 then go onto S2 of the anime
DetectiveFujiwara2025-12-27 20:25
Are you talking about the live action movies? I havent watched Kingdom yet and trying to find them
peter123yeah2025-12-27 23:17
I am. They should be on Netflix actually. At least they are where I live.
steven48692025-12-27 17:33
Read the manga, I started reading it last week and though I am still at the Coalition arc but it's already in my top-10 favorite manga.
kungpaochicken182026-01-04 12:50
Hi where are you able to find the manga at?
rishin_17652025-12-27 18:27
I recommend reading the manga
It's peak
Twigling2025-12-27 19:05
> And I don't even have high standards.
I **do** have high standards ......... primarily when it comes to storytelling. So as the story started off great and just got better and better I was able to endure the lousy early CGI and really get into the show. I have no regrets, although the studio really shot themselves in both feet with that early CGI.
Jevano2025-12-28 01:17
I guess it depends from person to person, for me as long as the voice acting, music and the story is there, I can keep watching no matter how it looks.
el_morris2025-12-27 17:19
I'm starting to getting interested in this series, why is it has 6 season but I barely heard a thing from it? I would give it a try but I'm still rewatching some of the upcoming winter previous seasons, and the annual mandatory rewatch of the best of the year starts on Monday.
MeeDurrr2025-12-27 17:29
It’s not very popular in western media for some reason but has a pretty good following in the east.
Christopho2025-12-27 17:39
> for some reason
I mean it’s pretty obvious lol. Very high barrier of entry as far as modern anime goes. First season is a cgi fest and second season is marginally better. Mind you, that’s a total of like 75 episodes. As far as animation goes, it really doesn’t even come close to modern shows until s3.
With that being said, the story, voice acting, characters, and music are great from s1 so if you can get past the animation, it’s a treat. It maintains the same quality and gets better throughout all 6 seasons as well. It also covers a period of time that is rarely touched upon in any anime.
It’s no secret why it’s not popular though.
Biobait2025-12-27 18:20
Not to mention most people interested in something like Kingdom are already reading the manga that's several seasons ahead.
steven48692025-12-27 17:35
It's extremely popular in Japan, it always ends up in the top-10 best selling manga of the year, probably due to poor S1 it didn't do well outside Japan.
guatemalianrhino2025-12-27 18:00
The first 2 seasons are unwatchable so you have to read 260 chapters of the manga first if you want to get into it, that's a pretty big barrier of entry imo
Twigling2025-12-27 18:56
>The first 2 seasons are unwatchable
Nonsense. Yeah, the CGI is terribly bad at first but it slowly improves. Most importantly it's the story that counts and that's great right from the start. People ignoring it due to bad CGI are missing out.
Classic-Box-39192025-12-28 11:11
Wym nonsense lol, an animes job is to show the story with animation, that shits terrible
Liesianthes2025-12-28 02:06
People hated season 1 animation, move-on and didn't give a chance. Anination improve, story get even better and peak after peak. Thus, become an underrated gem.
AKindleSoul2025-12-27 17:33
Oh HECK YESSS. Honestly we just need the Anime to keep being made as it already has a TON of source material to cover, and we will keep on eating soo good!!!
While very few in numbers Kingdom Season 6 ended on an average of 9.05 on MAL!!! and almost all the individuals episodes are rated above a 9 on IMDb!!! With only 2 episdoes being 8.8 and 8.9 which honestly speaking is basically 9. Freaking NUTS!!!
Soo damn happy that Kingdom is getting the treatment it deserves Season 3 and onwards, and I was there, and now I am here to experience it all, feels absolutely sublime!!!
Animesiac2025-12-27 17:57
lol. isn't a "Kingdom season 6" sequel just season 7? what a strange way to say that.
nezeta2025-12-27 18:10
It might be called Season 6 Part II, or the second cour of Season 6, rather than Season 7, because so far S6 has only covered about one-third or one-fourth of the arc.
Animesiac2025-12-27 18:49
true. I guess we play those games now too, like *Assult on Colossus Final Season, Part 9, Sixth Chapter, Cour 3, The Flashback Arc*. Got to keep the fans guessing, I guess.
Viktorv222025-12-28 14:06
I don't think second, third cours are ever annouced as new sequels. They are always known to come after 1. part.

Ownsin2025-12-28 09:25
it probably has a similar budget as one Punch man season three.
ImpossibleDistance672025-12-30 16:10
Dunno, the animation quality is probably about the same, but at least it doesnt have any offensive episodes on the whole like one punch.
ARES_GOD2025-12-27 18:17
WHATEVER YOU DO JUST GET INTO KINGDOM
More people need to watch/read Kingdom.
Trust me its worth it, I know the animation is bad in S1 but it improves in S2 and it massively improves from S3 and beyond.
Twigling2025-12-27 19:09
> Trust me its worth it, I know the animation is bad in S1 but it improves in S2 and it massively improves from S3 and beyond.
Exactly. It's fantastic. I think it's a real shame that the show's early CGI animation was so atrociously bad, I feel that a lot more people in the west would be watching if it had, for example, started off with season 3's animation style. Or, just imagine how many people would have been hooked right from the start if a studio like ufotable, KyoAni or Shaft had animated it.
It's a pity that so many put visuals above storytelling, because I think that it's the story which should count for most, not what the animation looks like. Visuals are important of course, but the story should come first.
ARES_GOD2025-12-27 19:14
Yeah if things were different it would've been very different for its reception and reach.
But here we are now and its so good and I am so excited for more.
I started with the anime loved it despite its bad animation I much prefer something with great story/chars/etc than something with insane animation that is lackluster or makes me annoyed/disappointed like what happened with JJK started with the anime there also and I was left very disappointed with how it went but Kingdom has become one of my all time favorites.
Twigling2025-12-27 20:21

Good ones seem to be rather hard to find as theres basically no realistic way for me to discover them in west if someone isnt talking about them, got any recommendations? im up for basically any genre
PenguinsAteMyToast2025-12-28 04:05
for 3d donghua, renegade immortal and tale of herding gods
Slow_Elderberry_38072025-12-28 19:40
A Mortals journey to immortality is one of the best shows I've ever watched in both donghua and anime genres. The story is really good and the pacing matches it perfectly enough to give a cultivation/action donghua slice of live moments that only makes it better.
To know just how good it gets you'll just have to watch it.
ImpossibleDistance672025-12-29 13:23
A Mortals journey to immortality, Renegade Immortal, Demon Hunter, Shrouding the Heavens, Swallowed Star, Tales of Herding Gods
These are my favorites and good ones to start with.
burger4life2025-12-27 22:13
>put visuals above storytelling
It's not that absurd to want good ANIMATION in ANIME. If I just want good storytelling, I could always just go read the manga
underhunter2025-12-28 00:44
Only in anime is it normalized to say some shit like “oh yea the first 3 seasons suck ass but after that its great! All you need to do is waste 20 hours before you can begin to enjoy it!”
Rabidschnautzu2026-01-02 06:20

Massively compared to S1 in context I am not comparing Kinigdom animation to JJK/Frieren/Solo Leveling/etc.
And yeah animation is not the draw for a show like this but like i said in another reply I much more prefer lower quality animation with great story/chars over insane animation and subpar story/chars or something that makes me annoyed.

Dunno who downvoted you but its funny. Also its great that you are into kingdom this much and being old and still into anime in general is great.
Madular2025-12-27 21:19
Tried the anime, dropped it after first episode, ended up just reading the whole manga. Honestly manga its the best way to go, even watching some scenes from later seasons it does not do the source material justice.
ARES_GOD2025-12-27 21:35
I have read the entire manga also but I still like the anime.
Madular2025-12-29 09:36
Liking the anime is fine, I'm just saying that the way manga is drawn/presented gave me a much better experience and sense of joy. The way backgrounds and crowds are depicted is so impressive, the level of detail always brought a sense of awe.
ARES_GOD2025-12-29 10:38
I get it lol thats why I like both since they are different mediums the art in Kingdom is fantastic and the scale for it and impact it gives you its so good.
But I also like the anime thanks to the voice acting especially in some of the greatest moments it hit so hard for me and sound design and movement while yes it has its issues in Kingdom like it has been talked and already acknowledged.
leeo2682025-12-28 02:45
Read the manga. That's peak. The anime is a good only after you know the plot from the manga. The anime quality tbh is at OPM season 3 level.
QueasyIsland2025-12-28 02:35
I am on season 3 episode 14, watching the series version that has the Japanese names of characters. Shin is a great MC and i still can’t forget the epic death of you know around the end of season 1. What a man. Can’t wait until i catch up to season 6 and join you guys for s7 threads
ARES_GOD2025-12-28 10:14
Yeah same with JP names for both anime and manga but especially for anime because they pronounce it in JP and if you get the CN subs there is a disconect.
And yeah one of the most epic deaths and keep enjoying the show you are in for great things have fun.
rosoe2025-12-28 03:10
They really need to relate the first couple of seasons. I watched the series this year and loved it. But the animation was so bad in s1 I was literally getting a headache.
Ponczo1232025-12-28 15:08
Kingdom just like One Piece is better in Manga format. And people said that first season is not just bad because of animation I asked the Kingdom subreddit and they said that first season skipped important arc first 2 seasons have bad CGI and every season have huge censorship downgrading it from seinen to shounen. I'm currently at chapter 90 and art alone could be the reason why I should stick with Manga
ARES_GOD2025-12-28 20:43
As long as you are getting into Kingdom thats great either manga or anime, just enjoy.
EuropaWeGo2025-12-28 18:52
I think I'm going to finally do it. The animation quality threw me off initially, but it seems like time to give it another go.
ARES_GOD2025-12-28 20:43
Have fun you are in for something great.
Doggoraccoon2025-12-28 23:09
I gave it like 20 episodes a couple of years ago and it just didnt hook me, and i really wanted to like it.
ARES_GOD2025-12-29 00:03
I get the old clichee of give it more but yeah you kind of stopped right when it was about to fully go into the grand battles and the focus of the series.
The first like 25 eps are the build up and after that you get the first major battle.
But hey at least you gave it 20 episodes which is more than a lot of people dont feel forced to get into a series no matter what.
ClozetSkeleton2025-12-27 19:52
I already know this will be a long haul anime so I'll wait till its more....completed so I have to wait less between seasons.

swiftnissity922025-12-27 21:13
Neat. So I take it next season will finish off the Western Zhao Invasion Arc. Today's episode should cover to roughly chapter 537 leaving just over 100 chapters remaining in this arc. After this arc, all the others so far remaining are much shorter.
semajdraehs2025-12-27 22:58
I remember 2020, watching Kingdom Season 1 and Season 2, looking for a third season and there wasn't one, and being like "oh it's been six years, they're not going to do a third season".
So glad I was wrong, they announced season 3 not long after that and we'd had a pretty clear run since.
Asgerond2025-12-27 22:59
Its Kingdom time
Venlirion2025-12-27 23:41
For those who have read the manga and watched the anime. Is the anime a good adaptation? Did it skip any content from the manga?
ArCr562025-12-28 00:45
Anime skips a few lines here and there, and I think some of the lines and scenes fall flat in comparison to the manga. The pacing in the anime feels a little bit off at times too. I've seen different people argue that it's both too fast and others that say it's too slow, so it's probably a personal preference thing.
Seasons 1+2 are pretty ugly and not great to look at. Season 3 picks it up though, and it has continued to get better. The characters are looking pretty good in S6. Most of the characters look almost or as good as they do in the manga, and one character looks better.
Is it a good adaptation? Yeah it's good enough. I enjoy watching it still, even if I think the manga is better. I still think reading it is the best choice, but if it's a decision between watching the anime or skipping on it entirely, I'd wholeheartedly recommend the watch.
Oh and there is one arc that's skipped pretty early on. I didn't like the arc much in the manga tbh, but without it, the timeline and some character motivations get a little fucky. In the long run the impact isn't that huge though.

I once heard that this anime is kinda similar to Game of Thrones, is that true? would someone who enjoyed the intrigues and smart plays in Game of Thrones also enjoy this?
ghosttnappa2025-12-28 07:05
Yes, but don’t expect GoT level writing sophistication. I made it through the first season and then binged the rest.
PaNcEtTa2025-12-28 19:43
Last season was great. But for me, I want to see more Xin growing, fewer competitors growing.
lan600002025-12-28 19:50
kingdom is the only long running anime/manga that doesn't have a boring arc so far. if the characters aren't fighting it out, the political intrigue will be interesting enough to keep people hooked. this series is part of why i miss 100 episode seasons.
Gambol_Celica2026-01-03 23:10
Haven't started kingdom but i want a bit worried I wouldn't like the animation style
FlameFrost__2026-01-18 23:37
I just binge watched entire Kingdom anime during the last week and it's so GOAT'd. I wonder why I never got into it sooner but love that I had six seasons worth of content to lap up.
I'm thinking about whether I should read the manga next or wait for the subsequent seasons. I ask because I never like repeating (rewatching) stuff. For example, with One Piece, once I read the Wano arc (and that was so epic too), I lost all motivation to watch the One Piece Wano arc anime. So now I'm actively avoiding reading the One Piece manga because I like watching its anime more, especially for the action/fights (which I couldn't fully grasp in the One Piece manga). But with Kingdom, it seems different. As others have pointed out, the battles and impact are very well illustrated, even better in the manga.
