He has girls throwing themselves on him but is scared to engage them (at least that was the case in S1). That was so off putting that I dropped it after a while. From the very beginning, we are shown "intimacy = power." This gets repeated again and again throughout the season.
All the girls are DTF. They know their duty, to save the world through marriage to the Ring King, and genuinely seem to like the bloke.
And, again, *the fate of the world is at stake.*
Nothing keeps happening. The MC just keeps making excuses until late in S2, and even then, it's just the 'main girl.'
Did I mention that the *world is in danger* and that *boning his willing wives will help?*
I swear to GOD it was infuriating. I quickly soured on the MC and the main girl because they just came across as selfish.
Like, yeah, I get that he's just some teenager in over his head and wasn't mentally prepared from the first episode... but by the end of the first season he *really* needed to have made some 'progress.'
It was all just so infuriating. Just a parade of excuses and shifting goalposts even as the obvious answer to the plot's main problem was *right there.*
