Drama.

School days falls under the Seinen genre.
N7CombatWombat2025-12-27 22:42
To be pedantic for a moment, Seinen is a demographic, not a genre.
ComputerCerberus2025-12-27 22:50
It's both. At the same time.

I meant the music genre or something i can search to find more songs like that. but thx for the answer

School Days is a Visual Novel adaptation in the harem genre. In western terms it's a tragedy, but western terms don't map very well to anime.

Always funny when people give an answer before reading the question

Wrong sub for music genre questions. Also, originally that was a link only in the body of the question.

Sounds like some sort of electronic pop music.
Similar stuff could be part of video game background music, electronica music, synth music, etc.

thank you!

Weird how only one comment actually answered OP’s question
N7CombatWombat2025-12-28 00:28
Because the OP didn't have "(what music genre is that)" in the post when the first answers came in.

This is how it feels to me
Sounds like a mix of
* J-pop / synthpop / dance / instrumental / Happy, easy-listening/ chill electronic, with a slight touch of electro‑jazz fusion (but no electric guitar)
* Up-tempo but mellow (\~128 BPM)
* High-fi production (not the typical lo-fi stuff you hear these days)
* 90s–early 00s Japanese video game music. Mostly school-life eroge date sim types, but also Playstation galge, plus anime OSTs. Some Capcom games might have this, and maybe some Persona tracks, some car driving games too(?).
* Some nichijou-kei (CGDCT) anime soundtracks might have similar tracks tucked in the middle but no guarantees.
* It’s the classic “Track 03 – Good Morning” OST vibe: not a title theme or a emotional ending tune, just a BGM that gently supports a “walking to school” scene.
Basically: nostalgic Japanese synth-driven music that's upbeat but chill, instrumental, and polished.
It has that straight, happy "morning stroll" energy. Softly waking up, not too dreamy, just on the verge of fully opening your eyes. It's the kind of track an eroge studio would make in a small apartment with a tiny crew, so the production isn't massive or overpolished like a mainstream J-pop hit or a Hans Zimmer-style orchestral score. It's intimate, functional, and earnest.
Important note: I don't think you can just search "eroge OST" to find these, you have to look up individual game titles, then search for their specific OSTs or songs.
This could be kind of close to what you’re looking for…..not totally sure.
