Looking For Recommendations

I just finished My Hero Academia after avoiding watching it for a long time (sincerely just didn’t know if it was worth the hype that it got lol) and actually **really** enjoyed it. I loved that even the “villains” were extremely fleshed out - it didn’t really fall into the trope of a bad guy just being bad and needing to be defeated; I absolutely loved that they delved into the psychology of why the main members of the League ended up how they were, and that Deku and Ochaka wanted to make a difference even in their lives for the better of the world - the writing was great and it never seemed one sided in a way that only the protagonists got a fleshed out back story which is one of my favourite things, even the antagonists had redeeming qualities and moments where you felt bad for them.

That being said, now that I am done with the series (I am going to watch Vigilantes but that won’t take me long) I am looking for some solid recommendations as to what I should watch next - I haven’t been super into anime since I was younger watching Bleach/Death Note/Sailor Moon/Rurouni Kenshin/Berserk/Cowboy/Dragonball Bebop etc. so until now Death Note was the newest anime I had seen (exception being Dragonball Super) so I would love some recommendations for newer stuff that I have missed that I will enjoy as much as MHA/Death Note/Rurouni Kenshin. I will add that my current watchlist included Gachiakuta, Attack on Titan, and Black Clover.

Finished Demon Slayer and Solo Leveling since this and they were both superb. It did take me a bit to get into Demon Slayer but Solo Leveling was absolutely superb - it’s a real shame the studio is so busy that they can’t work on season three yet 😩 but at least they didn’t end it on a crazy cliff hanger like Demon Slayer lol

We are not traumatizing new anime fans. And if you are going to, go with something less weird. Cause them emotional damage by recommending Clannad Afterstory and Kanon back to back

Rurouni Kenshin is currently being redone btw. 2 seasons out, with a 3rd in production.
Yaiba: Legend of Samurai is also an older anime being remade, with 1 season out, and another in production.

Black Clover, Fire Force, FATE (series - multiple stories), Black Lagoon, Solo Leveling, Fairy Tail, Fullmetal Alchemist, AoT, Sword Art Online, Great Pretender

I did start watching the remake, but idk it doesn’t have the same charm to me as the original lol I may try again once it’s finished so that I can just binge watch it all. And Black Lagoon is good, I forgot to add that to my list - I didn’t start watching that until like 2021 I believe when it was recommended to me

The Apothecary's Diary - Mystery period piece set in an imperial China analog. Very good characters, consistent art quality, interesting plots.

Odd Taxi - One season mystery/thriller with some great characters and dialog.

Shangri-La Frontier - Action series where the characters are playing an MMO with no death game stakes. Great action, good humor, solid art.

Dandadan - Fantastic urban fantasy series with blend of comedy, romance, drama, and great action. Get to episode 7 at least to get a feel for the show.

Frieren - Fantasy series that's all about the journey. Strong emotional arcs, solid characters, great art. One of the new must watches.

Apocalypse Hotel - Genre mashup dealing with the last hotel on Earth after humanity leaves. Fantastic all around and complete with one season.

Black Clover to get ready fir s2 and did you know bourbon with lemon lime juice, ground cinnamon, cloves, and ginger with a cup of tea i used green and black for it and mixed. Plus im halfway through an 8th of weed and my next drink is a 100mg weed soda.

Akame ga kill is a short but really good one. Dandadan has been good. Made in abyss season 1 was really good (haven’t seen season 2). Demon slayer ofc, solo levelling, jujutsu kaisen, chainsaw man. There’s actually so many your going to have a lot of content go through, there’s so many good ones 😂

So far out of this list since then I have finished Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen and Solo Leveling and they were all amazing, I’m glad I finished JJK right in time for the new season, and Demon Slayer in time for The Infinity Castle (hopefully streaming soon, otherwise I’ll have to download it). I’m really disappointed that the studio behind Solo Leveling is so busy that they can’t start working on a season 3 yet, because that may have been the best anime I have ever seen in my life 😩 I’m glad that they didn’t leave it on a crazy cliff hanger though
