new to anime and need recs

OKAY I need anime recommendations, I do not do well with gore whatsoever (learned that from aot) and so I wanted to try slice of life, particularly Yuri/wlw/sapphic ones!! any recommendations?? specifically Netflix but if not on Netflix allg!

If your new to anime, nana is a must. It's older, but it is a very cute/sad story.
Apothecary diaries is also a wonderful romanceish story, but that is a straight relationship, technically.

I don’t know about Netflix, but the most recent season of anime had a great show called This Monster Wants to Eat Me. Now, just so you know, the main character is depressed. Properly so. I feel like it’s a very real depiction of it and she doesn’t overcome it in this season. Not that the whole show is gloomy or anything. There are lighthearted moments and brightness from other characters, but it’s definitely not a feel good show, per se. If you’re not in the right mindset, don’t watch that now. Oh! And there is blood. I don’t think there was any gore, but there was definitely blood.

Another one that is full yuri through and through is Bloom Into You, which is my personal favourite yuri. It may be a simple answer, but it really is just so good. It’s probably my favourite romance series next to The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity. I read the manga and light novels for it and it’s just perfect.

A personal favourite show of mine is called Flip Flappers. It’s a very unique and fun show that isn’t a yuri, although the two main characters sort of have that close relationship in a way. They tease it a little. I don’t want to say too much because that show is special and does a lot of fun things all throughout. It’s a bit episodic with the little journeys they go on, so I highly recommend just jumping into that.

Rock is a Lady’s Modesty isn’t full blown yuri either, but wow is that tension palpable. Lol. It’s a bunch of prep school girls making a rock band which is seen as uncouth and improper for a lady, and they proceed to curse a lot at each other, shouting like crazy after a session. They also drop some wild innuendos. I wouldn’t say the show is proper yuri or anything, but it might go somewhere eventually. It also has a rough start, if you ask me, but it really picks up in the latter half.

These are ones I’d consider good or better off the top of my head. Of stuff I’ve watched, honestly, I feel like the yuri shows coming out within the last couple years have been kind of a disaster.

Lol. No problem! None of these series are long, so there’s definitely no rush or anything. If I remember anything off the top of my head, I’ll add another comment of stuff for you. There are definitely some slice of life, all girls cast anime I’ve watched and really enjoyed. A Place Further Than the Universe is absolutely fantastic and I highly recommend that too, but it’s not a yuri

Spy x Family is my go to for anime recommendations for a new viewer. It’s pretty good, it’s got a good balance between action and slice of life/comedy and feels pretty self contained as well. Defo give it a try

Unfortunately, i don't think these are on Netflix, at least in my country.
However, crunchyroll has a 7 days free trial,
Prime video has a 30 day free trial
Both internet archive and youtube have some anime

On Netflix, Kakegurui has some yuri vibes (some characters), however for someone new to anime and anime tropes, it may have some facial expressions that can be a bit weird.

Also, remember that Netflix catalogue has diferences between countries, so you may have anime that i don't have.
