Zootopia 2 is about to surpass CSM’s [total in Japan](https://www.reddit.com/r/boxoffice/s/HFW3IxwnQN)

I mean its a good family movie based on an already successful film. Chainsaw man is NOT fun for the whole family lol
Turbulent_Meaning_232025-12-28 15:00
To be honest, I wasn't very surprised.
F33372025-12-28 15:06
Ah yes, horse racing, snow man and Demon slayer... the real big three.
Castor_0il2025-12-28 18:29

Horseracing is making a real comeback. With UmaMusume then the TV drama Royal Family, Arima Kinen race yesterday had 70billions yen betted in the race, which is a big bounce for decades.
MonsterKiller1122025-12-28 15:07
What is Snow Man? Why is YouTube there? Are there fans of Youtube as a company?
Ok_Carob_32782025-12-28 15:13
Japanese idol group.
MonsterKiller1122025-12-28 15:15
That makes sense. Thanks.
Kadmos12025-12-28 16:06
When it comes to musical groups/band having weird names, Japan has its share.
Powerful-Walk40632025-12-28 15:17
Are there YouTube fan companies?
Of course! They have merchandise!
Time_Fracture2026-01-01 16:25
As with the other commenter, Snow Man is an idol group. But in anime context, they recently performed the ending song for [Blue Lock Season 2](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=czus8cVT0ZQ).
SupperTime2025-12-28 15:13
I liked Demon slayer, but I thought the story was pretty generic. And his two side characters were really annoying. Maybe it’s just me.
oops_i_made_a_typi2025-12-28 16:07
this is the most room temp take ever, 90% of r/anime thinks this (myself included)
SupperTime2025-12-28 16:52
Oh damn I didn’t know that
Ehero882025-12-28 17:14
People watch for the animated fight scene.....ufotable animate it hard.
Castor_0il2025-12-28 18:33
I'm probably the weirdo minority, but I liked Season 1 a lot for it's story more than the breathtaking animation, even if it was written by the numbers.
enesup2025-12-28 22:14
Never really got the generic calls.
>Story takes place in 1910s
>Demons are basically Vampires with Stand like abilities. Very few of them are just "The fire one" or the "Lightning one".
> MC's sister is a demon companion.
> The very "first" fight against a credible threat was rigged because the MC's master had unknowingly sent all his disciples to die because the demon grew to
recognize that they were his disciples because of the mask he gave them.
>MC is kind, but is incredibly vindictive and viscous to his enemies. Izuku cries over his bully who made his life hell for years or Naruto hyperventilating over the guy who treats his friends like trash.
> Demons are a problem but in the grand scheme of things nobody actually cares since they kill so relatively few people (I mean in a few decades a single week would have killed more people than Muzan and all his demons would have combined) and only people whose lives were ruined by them and their wealthy benefactor are devoted to do something about it .
Lots of aspects of it are pretty unique.
NeoAnkara2025-12-28 15:29
Classic Conan always stays in top form
Ehero882025-12-28 17:10
Their movie there's always perform too. Like kids there's never tired of conan schticks
Kadmos12025-12-28 16:05
I never got into "Demon Slayer" outside of seeing clips on YT or similar. The series doesn't appeal to me. However, as is the case with any and all IP, just because it is popular doesn't mean it is well-written. Well-written is very subjective.
Ehero882025-12-28 17:11
Something popular is more than just well written lol, this is battle shonen, and the animation of it peak af.
bbqboiAF2025-12-28 17:55
Ok.
theseventhyonko2025-12-28 16:51
Its good but I didn't expect this
BBLKing2025-12-28 16:54
Pretty surprised that Snow Man is that popular, as far as I know it's like japanese answer to BTS, but more popular than YOASOBI or Ado? Damn.
Ehero882025-12-28 17:13
Prolly js for this year, yoasobi might be more popular outside japan
TandemTuba2025-12-28 17:56
I realized that was officially sort of out of touch with the "youths" when I went to see Infinity Castle. I was expecting a moderately full theater for this random afternoon showing and it was packed to capacity with probably 25% of the people in cosplay. I'm not complaining, it's honestly cool as fuck that younger anime fans have such a Titanic property to fan over. I just sorely underestimated how popular is is.
Jauretche2025-12-28 17:56
Man Pokémon's been going on for so long
opelui232025-12-28 22:33
The crazy thing is that the manga has been for 5 years and they still can stretch this out as long as they need.
