It's the end of the season, so there are a lot of final episodes this week. I'm especially sad to say goodbye to [**Scarlet**](https://imgchest.com/p/wl7lwwz564x) from [**May I Ask for One Final Thing?**](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/1pqpne2/comment/nuw5c7l/?context=3&utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) (who got a nice boost of karma and ended up in 4th place) and [**Iana/Konoha**](https://imgchest.com/p/na7kknw9b78) from [**The Dark History of the Reincarnated Villainess**](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/1puqrbg/comment/nvr3kfo/?context=3&utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) (21st place), who were my favorite characters this season.
[**Spy x Family S3**](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/1prfra0/comment/nv1jh43/?context=3&utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) tops the list this week, unsurprisingly, followed by [**Gachiakuta**](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/1ps8kft/comment/nv7oe3h/?context=3&utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) in 2nd place and **Uma Musume: Cinderella Gray** in 3rd place, with a pretty big gap between the two shows. I thought the race for 2nd place would be much tighter, considering last week's results.
Other series that ended and I watched were [**This Monster Wants to Eat Me**](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/1pvek7b/comment/nvvmrwc/?context=3&utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) (5th place), which was a great mix of yuri, drama, horror, and comedy; [**Campfire Cooking S2**](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/1ptww4y/comment/nvkhykq/?context=3&utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) (8th place) and [**Isekai Quartet S3**](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/1pt13bc/comment/nvdov3f/?context=3&utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) (11th place), which were both very enjoyable series.
By the way, the last episode of **Dad is a Hero, Mom is a Spirit, I'm a Reincarnator** (31st place, so it didn't enter the ranking) had 288 comments and only 89 karma, giving it a ratio of 3.23! This must be one of the highest comment/karma ratio ever on this site when it comes to episode discussions.

Even though it was mostly just because the shows that ended ahead of last week's chart opened up more space this time, I’m happy to see Ginpachi-sensei make the chart one last time! [](#seasonalapproval) Really hope it gets a season 2 at some point. Yeah, it's not quite the same as regular Gintama, but it still made me laugh my ass off every week.
I am also glad to see Undead Unluck Winter Arc just barely make the top 10 on this. As someone who watched the first season for the first time during the rewatch leading up to it, I had an absolutely *wicked* time with the show and couldn't be more excited for season 2 if I tried. [](#hypeoverload) It did make me laugh at the first *seven minutes* of the special just being season 1 recap though, lol. I'm sure that was helpful for the people who watched season 1 two years ago, but it certainly wasn't necessary for me.
Next week’s chart should be… interesting. [](#mugiwait)
JOOOQUUU2025-12-28 15:19
Save the karma ranking JJK!
Best_in_Za_Warudo2025-12-28 15:57
Save the karma ranking...Kurosaki Ichigo... (He literally will next summer)
tripleaamin2025-12-28 16:00
I mean, more than likely Frieren will do that more than JJK. Looking at their karma history.
RGBkano2025-12-28 15:19
Fiona approves of the Spy x Family banner image.
Pretty big jump for AssStats, and I thought most people gave up on this show.
Winter 2026 anime season starting from next week should be interesting to see.
cppn022025-12-28 15:20
Not even in this reduced week Tojima managed to get on the left side.
[](#sadholo)
Shimmering-Sky2025-12-28 15:23
Maybe next week when there's even less competition AFAIK?
I, for one, hope I can finally see both Symphogear 2.0 and Symphogear 3.0 (Princession Orchestra and SI-VIS: The Sound of Heroes, respectively) on the chart next week with how most Fall shows are already done and most Winter shows aren't starting yet. [](#mugiwait)
ceribaen2025-12-29 14:15
And yet Ass Stats still is.
tugtugtugtug42025-12-29 20:35
What I thought this show would be from the opening episode and the high quality art style and what it actually was has to be one of the biggest mismatches in expectations vs reality (in a bad way) I've ever experienced. What a pile of shit this show was.
thisisdropd2025-12-28 15:20
Fiona and her colourful imagination lmao. The only hint of comedy in an otherwise tense and serious episode.
Seeing as most shows had ended last week SxF seems poised to retain top spot next week, followed by GNOSIA. Both are among my top titles this season.
Yandirin2025-12-28 15:23
Shampoo is such a cutie, I miss her already.
notanfan2025-12-28 15:27
8k\~ holy thats gotta be lowest i have seen
Mitsuyan_2025-12-28 15:32
Earlier this year there was a gap week that had entries with 2/3 karma making the chart
Komarist2025-12-28 15:51
At least [2025's Winter Week 1](https://i.redd.it/fascn1krl6be1.png) had 30+ entries. IIRC, [2024's Winter Week 1](https://i.redd.it/lfyar9yhw0bc1.png) only had 15 discussion threads, so everything charted and right-side got replaced with #twitter followers.
qwertyqwerty45672025-12-28 16:15
Man winter 2024 was such a banging season.
Mitsuyan_2025-12-28 16:34
Yeah that was the one where I commented on Shinkalion deserving a place on the regular chart. Didn't realise it got a whole 13 karma though. Great anime
Korkez112025-12-28 18:16
Dog Signal bros remember how it ended up in the chart with 3 karma.
ykiigor12025-12-28 15:27
Chitose stole screenshot from mangaka (ep12 \~16:04)
gnome-cop2025-12-28 15:28
I’m still not over just how foul of a joke “Onigiri second” is. They did not need to do her like that.
wanakoworks2025-12-29 04:59
that was an absolutely diabolical joke. lol.
Bentilbeans2025-12-28 15:28
Finally, Hands Off getting the recognition it deserves
MonsterKiller1122025-12-28 15:30
Finally this anime season and 2025 as a whole has concluded. 2025 wasn't the best year for anime but we still got some bangers. 2026 looks much better. A peak season awaits us from January next year.
As for this season, I got time to watch some underground gems I missed from earlier this year. A dry season like this one is not bad every once in a while. Gives you free time to watch some older stuff.
Henry16992025-12-28 15:32
I enjoyed season 1 of To Your Eternity but I ended up never watching further seasons. Point being, to me that picture raises a lot of questions about what is going on in the plot.
LadySakuya2025-12-28 22:20
I'm still working through the Manga. Is the anime any good?
1_1304262025-12-29 04:54
Season 1 was a masterpiece
Season 2 is great and nicely adds to stuff from season 1
Season 3 however is completely different and some people dont really like it but it's not bad
The one refreshing thing about To you eternity is that the story actually progresses and the world changes.
New_Maximum_67622025-12-28 15:37
Umamusume Cinderella Gray💓💓💓
eightcheesepizza2025-12-28 17:23
Umamusume: Ikura Neko-kun*
Mitsuyan_2025-12-28 15:38
So ends 2025. We end with no personal 10/10s for me but a number of excellent entries. This season particularly impressed with my AOTY Shuumatsu Touring, Solo Camping For Two, Ranma, Alma-chan, the eternal Pokémon entry and of course SxF, ImoUza and Watatabe having their moments. I also watched Reze this season which was an impressive entry to my new *I've Seen This In The Cinema* list. Speaking of 10s I did up Love Live Sunshine and 2.5D Seduction from 9.5 to 10 and Nijigasaki from a 6 to a 9.5 but I'm not counting them as I should have known better when I first watched them.
Here's to another great year of anime!
SouekiSennoSTM2025-12-28 15:40
Well, the series in my Top 5 for the season which continues to be the only one to make it onto the left-hand side of the chart is Gnosia, but it's good to see that it's even there, as high up as it is, and has remained consistently planted.
One of the other better series of this season, A Mangaka's Weirdly Wonderful Workplace, fighting desperately to reach it and almost there. I'm a little surprised it hasn't yet, but perhaps with the season/series finale episode (episode 13) airing this coming Monday and the vacuum left by other series of the season ending. Though then with half the series gone it feels like kind of a hollow victory.
Probably the most surprising development is to see a standard ecchi like Don't Touch Kotesashi shoot up so many places this time, but looks like it's happened to a lot of series previously below the chart now jumping up several places.
And it's sad that even in that environment, series like Shabake and Debu to Love to Ayamachi to! (even for the season/series finale, in case of the latter) couldn't make it in.
Also, now that we're pretty much at the end of it and a few days away from the end of the year, I can say both that autumn was probably the third best season of the year for new series (worse than winter and spring, but better than summer) and that 2025 as a whole in that respect was worse than 2024 and 2023, but better than 2022.
Out of my Top 10 compiled for the year, four series are from spring, three from winter, two from autumn, and one from summer. But I'll see if that changes when I get around to the handful of series I skipped and didn't get around to watching yet.
abandoned_idol2025-12-28 19:03
I unironically finished watching "Don't Touch".
And I stretched as I watched it. XD
Why did I watch an entire anime about a bland masseuse and naked breasts rendered on screen?! The brief episode duration helped a lot.
I fell 4 episodes short of Debu to Love, I probably forgot after the detective side quest. Better catch up.
SouekiSennoSTM2025-12-28 21:04
Yeah, I ended up finishing it (Kotesashi) as well (even almost exactly on time and remaining caught up week to week as opposed to lagging behind in episodes). Ended up giving it a 5/10.
I'm not exactly sure as to the whys on my part except for the fact that ecchi and harem are among my least favorite genres, consequently among my least-watched, and therefore occasionally I feel like introducing some variety and balancing things out by including a series representative of them. Preferably one with a more interesting gimmick added, whether in its premise, setting, characters, etc.
In this case it was the sports physiotherapy angle, which they at least went moderately into detail with.
Komarist2025-12-28 15:44
u/Abysswatcherbel - With next week's reduced entries for the holiday week, are Watanare's specials being restricted to 3 entries or are all 5 eligible? [Schedule is low on episodes I'd expect to get more than 50 karma.](https://www.livechart.me/schedule?date=2025-12-26)
Abysswatcherbel2025-12-28 15:45
I was thinking about doing a yearly overview + the week post
We can post more than one pic now according the r/anime law
Also how that is how i discover we have Watanare specials coming
Komarist2025-12-28 15:56
My bad on using specials instead of sequel. It's the JP-exclusive movie cut into episodes
Abysswatcherbel2025-12-28 15:57
Wait is the Kaho movie releasing this week?!?!?
Omg, that's great
norvium-2025-12-28 15:46
Is Gachiakuta worth watching? I watched it till 4-5 episodes and then dropped.
Longbow922025-12-28 16:29
You're missing out.
tripleaamin2025-12-28 16:42
If you like battle shounens you will like it. The power system is well done, and the cast plus world-building is interesting enough.
Alt22212025-12-28 16:45
if you are a shonen addict that has seen everything else its worth a shot. other than that, not really imo
abandoned_idol2025-12-28 19:00
Novel character costumes and formulaic battle anime judging from what fans share.
It is also written by an assistant of the Soul-Eater/Fire-Force mangaka. So I'd expect it to be a more polished version, but nothing beyond that.
Unique battle shounen are the exception, formulaic is the norm.

I watched around 5 episodes\* of Gachiakuta so far. On indefinite pause while I go through all my other hobbies.
I'll continue watching it once I stop procrastinating, dunno if or when though.

abandoned_idol2025-12-28 22:48
I'm hoping to eventually watch it. Gachiakuta is way better than "Fire Force" at least.
I wish I would have liked Fire Force since I DID like Soul Eater.
And the Fire Force manga somehow ended being even duller than the anime adaptation with the static manga panels. Something felt really off.
The battle shounen I do evangelize is "World Trigger" and its upcoming reboot. I actively lick this anime's boots. It's not like I hate battle shounen, I just crave subversion and the omission of common tropes.
sexy_snake_229xXx2025-12-29 12:08
I’d say continue until episode 7, if you don’t like it then you can drop it
IceAnt5732025-12-28 15:47
Week 13 and final week of the Fall 2025 season is the awkward end of the year time between seasons where a bunch of finales for Fall 2025 shows have happened, but it's not the start of the Winter 2026 season yet. For reference, [Week 13 of Fall 2024](https://i.redd.it/hxzpxdv4ps9e1.png) was also under 10k at 9496 karma. So with that in mind and the fact that Fall 2025's biggest karma generator in *My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON* had its finale last week, it shouldn't be surprising that this week's 7823 karma is that low and -3413 karma from last week. Does mean more low karma shows get to show up in the Top 30 this week too (7 in fact).
**Note**: MAL scores this week in the Top 15 are for the most part the same as [last week's chart](https://i.redd.it/ht3ml943ek8g1.png) except for the 3 shows that entered the Top 15 this week in 10th, 13th, and 15th + the *One-Punch Man S3* exception that gets the "honor" of a weekly score update.
___
**SPY x FAMILY S3** moves up +1 spot to 1st with 1273 karma which is +111 karma from last week. 331 comments is +154 comments from last week, 2nd in most comments for an episode thread this week, and a comment to karma ratio of 0.26. An action heavy episode and it doesn't even involve Yor! That would certainly boost numbers and I'm glad I got to see [Nightfall enter her Rage Mode](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/ac7c31e7e59a.png).
**GACHIAKUTA** moves up +2 spots to 2nd for its season finale with 1010 karma which is +201 karma from last week and the final 1k+ karma show of the week. 232 comments is -31 comments from last week, tied for 7th most for the week, and a comment to karma ratio of 0.23. Wasn't sure if this week would have two 1k+ karma shows, but we just cleared it. Happy a S2 is already in the works.
**Umamusume: Cinderella Gray P2** stays at 3rd with 791 karma which is -220 karma from last week. 247 comments is -63 comments from last week, 6th most for the week, and a strong comment to karma ratio of 0.31. This season finale was honestly setup for a future season, but I like the focus on Inari One and the end of Tamamo Cross' story.
**May I Ask For One Final Thing?** rises +6 spots to 4th with 625 karma for its finale which is +259 karma from last week. 297 comments is +106 comments from last week, 3rd most for the week, and a very strong comment to karma ratio of 0.48. Fun show and Julius got two things that were long awaited either by the audience or by him: a relationship with Scarlet and [her fist in his face](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/ae5336850fdc.png) (no gloves though. Going easy on him).
**This Monster Wants to Eat Me** moves up +1 spot to 5th with 578 karma for its finale which is -52 karma from last week. 214 comments is -59 comments from last week, 9th most for the week, and a strong comment to karma ratio of 0.37. Wish the numbers weren't down for the finale, but the big climatic moments were the previous episodes. I can also use the "this episode released on Christmas" excuse. Thankful Hinako can enjoy life just a little bit more than she used to. Really want this to have a Season 2. I need more of [Hinako, Shiori, and Miko](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/1012e2ea5730.png).
**Ranma ½ (2024) S2** moves up +3 spots to 6th with 437 karma which is +38 karma from last week. 93 comments is +11 comments from last week, 20th most for the week, and a comment to karma ratio of 0.21. We end on a wonderful love story between a boy who can turn into a girl and back and a duck. But also it was nice getting [this line from Akane about Ranma](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/G853RrmaQAAqsuX?format=jpg&name=orig).
**GNOSIA** moves up +1 spot to 7th with 421 karma which is -40 karma from last week. 209 comments is -178 comments from last week, 10th most for the week, and an incredibly strong comment to karma ratio of 0.50. An SQ focused episode with big revelations and a loop that was really not Gnosia-favored really cratered discussion, but also the previous episode was bigger for that.
**Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill S2** rises +7 spots to 8th with 384 karma which is +81 karma from last week. 187 comments is +57 comments from last week, 11th most for the week, and a comment to karma ratio of 0.49. All the season, the vibes have remained pleasant and chill for this show. I feel a S3 coming.
**SANDA** rises +5 spots to 9th with 369 karma which is +61 karma from last week. 101 comments is +47 comments from last week, 18th most for the week, and a comment to karma ratio of 0.27. We end with the focus on Ono and I'm sad. It also is really leaving you wanting for more despite what happened in this season finale.
**UNDEAD UNLUCK Winter-hen** places 10th with 363 karma (9th was within reach...). 87 comments is 22nd most for the week and a comment to karma ratio of 0.24. This special has been teased for over a year now and it's finally out and really focuses on Billy. MAL score is 7.64. Great final fight and a S2 announcement happened the same day this released. Glad this wasn't a one-off return for *UNDEAD UNLUCK*.
**Isekai Quartet S3** moves up +1 spot to 11th for its finale with 357 karma which is +22 karma from last week. 147 comments is +99 comments from last week, 13th most for the week, and a very strong comment to karma ratio of 0.41. The button...presumably didn't do anything, but Aqua pressing it a bunch of times makes it easy to blame it on her if a bunch of weirdos from different series start showing up. Also like the musical performances from Class 2 and 1 + this power transfer to Kazuma to Subaru to Ainz is personally amusing to me.
**One-Punch Man S3** moves down -1 spot to 12th with 354 karma which is -3 karma from last week. 232 comments is -91 comments from last week, tied for 7th most for the week with *GACHIAKUTA*, and an incredibly strong comment to karma ratio of 0.66. MAL score is **4.37** which is -0.07 from last week. Just one more week on this chart. Hang in there whether it be the show itself or the reactions and discussion about it. Still want to know what the reason is for this being the one show that was Top 15 every week to get a MAL score update every week on the graphics.
**My Gift Lvl 9999 Unlimited Gacha: Backstabbed in a Backwater Dungeon, I’m Out for Revenge!** rises +5 spots to 13th with 306 karma which is +58 karma from last week. 251 comments is -3 comments from last week, 5th most for the week, and a ridiculously strong comment to karma ratio of 0.82. MAL score check-in is 6.68. The season finale ended with the revenge on Sasha and the elves. And from the looks of it, it was a satisfying revenge.
**To Your Eternity S3** moves down -1 spot to 14th with 296 karma which is -35 karma from last week. 162 comments is +14 comments from last week, 12th most for the week, and an incredibly strong comment to karma ratio of 0.55. Down week for karma, but Fushi's way of getting rid of files in a computer is hilarious. And I don't think he actually got rid of them either.
**My Status as an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero’s** rises +9 spots to 15th for its finale with 259 karma which is +60 karma from last week. 334 comments is +147 comments from last week, 1st in most comments for the week, and an absurd comment to karma ratio of 1.29. MAL score check-in is 6.87. Akira's moral dilemma over the last arc and the resolution to that in this last episode is getting cooked in the thread. But it's still boosting engagement. Look at that comment jump.
**Tojima Wants to Be a Kamen Rider** moves up +3 spots to 16th with 226 karma which is -19 karma from last week. 135 comments is -4 comments from last week, 15th most for the week, and an incredibly strong comment to karma ratio of 0.60. Slightly down week, but we get a confession rejection (with potential to change) and Civilian Futaba who is really fed off with the nonsense.
**A Mangaka’s Weirdly Wonderful Workplace** rises +6 spots to 17th with 220 karma which is +14 karma from last week. 94 comments is +7 comments from last week, 19th most for the week, and a really strong comment to karma ratio of 0.43. Slight boost for this week that's about the importance of networking, but also making the most of chances you do get. Like Futami's book signing event featuring a cameo from the mangaka's other work.
**Chitose Is in the Ramune Bottle** moves down -1 spot to 18th with 207 karma which is -44 karma from last week. 92 comments is -12 comments from last week, 21st most for the week, and a really strong comment to karma ratio of 0.44. Slightly down week for numbers as the Yuzuki stalker plot is still progressing (and there were some...interesting Yuzuki scenes this episode too) and also seeing the different dynamic Chitose has with Asuka is nice.
**Wandance** rises +12 spots to 19th with 162 karma which is +31 karma from last week. 76 comments is -13 comments from last week, 23rd most for the week, and a really strong comment to karma ratio of 0.47. This is definitely a show that really heated up in its reception the further it went along and I'm happy the karma boost for the finale gave it a Top 20 finish in the rankings even if it is in the weakest karma week of the year.
**Touring After the Apocalypse** rises +7 spots to 20th with 156 karma which is the same as last week. 136 comments is +76 comments from last week, 14th most for the week, and a ridiculously strong comment to karma ratio of 0.87. Look at this discussion boost with no gain in karma. Yeah, there are no hard confirmations on the mysteries of this show and was more about CGDCT. How much that bothers you may vary.
IceAnt5732025-12-28 15:47
Part 2 of the Recap:
___
**The Dark History of the Reincarnated Villainess** rises +9 spots to 21st for its finale with 146 karma which is +2 karma from last week. 114 comments is +31 comments from last week, 16th most for the week, and a ridiculously strong comment to karma ratio of 0.78. Using your sister's blood as a vampire antidote is inspired thinking as part of the bait to pretty easily beat that Vampire King. This show is in the Top 3 from this season that I want to see a sequel announcement for along with *This Monster Wants to Eat Me* and *A Mangaka’s Weirdly Wonderful Workplace*. Top 20 was within reach...
**My Friend's Little Sister Has It In for Me!** rises +4 spots to 22nd with 146 karma which is -30 karma from last week and ties it with *The Dark History of the Reincarnated Villainess*, but loses out on the comment tiebreaker. 110 comments is +66 comments from last week, 17th most for the week, and a ridiculously strong comment to karma ratio of 0.75. 4 comments off from having a karma and comment tie. Wanted it to happen. Theater club wins by doing nothing, feels bad that Mashiro really got to sit in the audience and watch what happened play out, and Iroha did the jk but at least this show didn't infuriate as much as a certain other show from earlier in the year with a similar dynamic that Iroha and Aki have.
**DIGIMON BEATBREAK** rises +8 spots into the Top 30 at 24th with 129 karma which is +1 karma from last week. 37 comments is -1 comment from last week, does not make Top 30 in comments for the week, and a comment to karma ratio of 0.29. First Top 30 and the vibes are very positive in the thread compared to more recent *Digimon* series + Gekkomon's evolution into Armalizamon is a strong approval from me.
**Hands off: Sawaranaide Kotesashi-kun** rises +15 spots into the Top 30 at 28th with 98 karma which is +8 karma from last week. 34 comments is +18 comments from last week, does not make Top 30 in comments for the week, and a strong comment to karma ratio of 0.35. Honestly, just wanted to shout out this sub-100 karma show for rising the most spots to get into the Top 30 this week. Also, a pretty mean place to end the season at. Beach episode cliffhanger (I suppose that is especially effective for a series like this...)
___
**Favorite banner of the week**: *This Monster Wants to Eat Me* banner is so funny. Miko and Shiori, but it cuts off Hinako. 2nd would be *UNDEAD UNLUCK Winter-hen* since I missed Juiz. 3rd would be *The Dark History of the Reincarnated Villainess* and this Iana aura farming banner.
BosuW2025-12-28 20:37
Even if the karma went down a bit in _Watatabe_ at least I'm happy reading the comments that the direction the ending went (for the season) was well received because it's a bit if a risky move.
Really awesome adaptation all around

Dont be sad that its over be happy u got to enjoy the season. Its gonna repeat again next season always has for me
zenithfury2025-12-28 16:07
These Assstats... it's over 9000!
It makes me happy to see May I Ask For One Final Thing? ending strong at 4th place. I really hope for another season of it.

Man, as an **Undead Unluck** fan, the Winter Special absolutely delivered. E&H Production was mostly behind it, but I do hope that David Prod gets back on it, though. A joint production between David Prod and E&H Collaboration would be pretty cool to see. As Seong-Hu Park is a very talented director. I am more concerned with E&H Production handling a cour of content because their consistency has been their biggest issue. Pleasantly surprised S2 got announced.
Talking about shows, I finished.
* For my AOTS I have **Cinderella Gray**. If not talking about visuals and animation, it catches the special feeling that S2 gave me. Beginning of a New Era does get great points with its insane production and great story to add on top. It's been fun diving into the UMA anime like I did with BanG Dream last year.
* **Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill Season 2** \- This is such a pure comfort show. Good vibes all around. For me, it's Dungeon Meshi without the high-level storytelling. Sometimes watching feel-good anime hits the right spot.
* **Shabake** \- This is one strange show. It's an incredibly slow burn, but honestly, it had some superb payoff towards the end. A well-done, character-driven story.
* **Spy x Family S3** \- Probably the best season of SxF as the story arcs were great. A big focus on Twilight, but also the themes of war were done very well. I can't wait until S4, but I wonder if they'll put out an anime original movie again.

Futami puddle for chiramune is hilarious
oops_i_made_a_typi2025-12-28 16:19
Was a quiet season, and was personally busy IRL so haven't been able to watch much. I was curious about a few smaller shows that were promising early, wanted to see if anyone has feedback on how they've ended/how they're doing so far:
- Tojima Kamen Rider
- Gnosia
- Sanda
- Mangaka workplace
- Star Wars Visions 3
- Monster wants to eat me
I did catch up on a bunch of shows this week and here were my ratings/thoughts:
- AssStats - 4, I could get over the initial shitty writing dip with the elf girl because that's the sort of trash I was ready for with this show, but it just got to be too much by the end, especially how the final episode concluded the final, way too drawn out arc.
- Isekai Quartet 3 - 8. Solid, not too spectacular, didn't find it quite as funny as prev years
- Friend's Little Sister - 7. Another solid entry in its type of haremish romance/comedy/sol/drama show, mostly watched as I had started the manga years ago. Feels like a not as good blend of Nagatoro and Saekano or Pet Girl of Sakurasou.
- May I Ask for One Final Thing? - 7. Another solid but unspectacular entry in Villainess type show. Was fun for a few eps but a little one-note in it's comedy, like Mashle. Not terrible politics/worldbuilding but prefer something like 7th Time Loop.
Frostbitten_Moose2025-12-28 18:51
Tojima's good fun if you can rock with something that is utterly goofy that they mostly take seriously with a bit of poking fun at it every now and then to let you know the creators are in on the joke. Do note that the drama of the setup is mostly less important than just letting the cast be idiots and bounce off of each other, which is what I love most about it.
oops_i_made_a_typi2025-12-29 07:36
how much would you say you need to be familiar with kamen rider/power ranger type shows to enjoy it? cuz i barely know anything tbh
Frostbitten_Moose2025-12-29 14:18
I haven't really touched those shows except for original Power Rangers back in the 90s, and Red Ranger Isekai.
abandoned_idol2025-12-28 18:57
Tojima Kamen Rider and Sanda are good if you're looking for characters and character development.
AssStats ended up being exactly what I expected, I never bothered watching even the first episode. Reading random discussion threads full of lamentations was really fun.
Quantum_Croissant2025-12-28 19:48
This monster wants to eat me was really good, as a fan of the manga I couldn't have hoped for a better adaptation. It's a really strong and realistic portrayal of depression, the story handles it really well, the atmosphere is great, the voice actors and soundtrack are top notch, the character writing is amazing (and the main focus of the show), etc. The only negative you could have is a low animation budget, which shows through in a few overly still background shots but is otherwise not really noticeable. Plus, you can really feel how much the production team cared about the series, with things like adding in bonus chapters of the manga for fun, and giving one of the characters a whole new ED sung by her VA for her arc.
oops_i_made_a_typi2025-12-29 07:26
thanks for the feedback! praise from source readers makes for a strong rec, and i don't mind lower animation budgets for good stories
duo99dusk2025-12-28 19:53
Gnosia is a masterpiece.
Next cour is guaranteed to surprise in terms of plot and have great animation with lots of character moments. 21 episodes total are expected.
oops_i_made_a_typi2025-12-29 07:26
oh i didn't even realize it's a 2cour, guess its a good time to catch up
SouekiSennoSTM2025-12-28 21:55
Sanda is still on my to-watch list, but Gnosia and A Mangaka's Weirdly Wonderful Workplace are both in my Top 5 for this season. I've actually found that they've risen in their standing in my rankings and only become more enjoyable as time has gone on and there's been time to get more familiar with the characters and the whole dynamic at play.
I'm very glad that the former is a two cour series to get even more sucked into it by the end and I wish that the latter was as well (or at least goes on to have additional seasons at some point in the future).
One thing I really love about Gnosia is how it can oscillate between extremes of genre to in some episodes or even individual scenes be more like a Thriller and others more like a Slice of Life, and everything in-between. Reminds me a bit of if there were a Higurashi in space (and in CGI animation...).
The mangaka one I honestly thought that I'd drop before even reaching the end of the first episode as I don't watch much comedy or find most appealing and figured that it'd be a show of only obnoxious characters always screaming. Futami (main character) does scream a lot, but I'm shocked to not find myself irritated or put off by either her or any other character and to find their co-worker and found family (in some cases) dynamic endearing.
I also enjoy the look (albeit through a fictional, dramatized lens) into what the life of mangaka behind the scenes could resemble and their industry. Never really even seen a similar series about writers in general dealing with editors, book signings, etc., so kind of feels refreshing in that respect even as an unassuming workplace SoL not doing anything crazy inventive or radical.
oops_i_made_a_typi2025-12-29 07:38
i'm feeling in a little more SoL mood so I think I'll pick up Mangaka first off of all the recs I've been getting, good to know it grows on you too. Definitely excited for Gnosia too after hearing from a couple ppl here
oops_i_made_a_typi2026-01-01 19:50
I ended up finishing Mangaka today, and it was great! Top 5 as well for me, strong 8/10 - I see what you mean by nothing crazy inventive or radical, but a well put together story and exploration of the industry with a yuri/cgdct packaging. Super nice and wholesome!
eightcheesepizza2025-12-28 17:21
I enjoy this post every week - in fact, it's the only ranking post I care about. But sometimes my favorites on the right just have part of the promotional art for the banner. Is it because no one has submitted a screenshot from that week's episode? Is there a way I can help submit ones for my favorites?
Komarist2025-12-28 18:10
OP uses episode discussion threads for any top-15 entries that weren't submitted (e.g. 90% of My Hero Academia episodes). Right-side is only submitted images. Can message OP whatever images you like and get an idea of what will be top-15 or top-30 by [checking his site](https://abysswatcherbel.github.io/) on Saturday/Friday.
cppn022025-12-28 18:15
> Is it because no one has submitted a screenshot from that week's episode? Is there a way I can help submit ones for my favorites?
Yes the screenshots for banners are almost exclusively provided by people who watch those shows and if nothing is send in the key visual gets used.
The only requirement for screenshows is that they are from the latest episode and not too spoilery.
I think most people submitting them just ping u/Abysswatcherbel here on r/anime either in the respective episode thread or in the Casual Discussion Friday thread (no idea if anyone uses reddit chat) while some with a more direct line of contact might submit them via discord.
Castor_0il2025-12-28 18:35
Damn, no more horse racing girls and gachigasm on my sundays.
Next season has pretty big shoes to fill on sundays.

Surprising that Hands Off beat little Miss vampire.
Little Miss vampire is kind of a fun and floofly SoL.

Any particular reason Cingray's MAL score is linked to the cour 1 score and not cour 2?
Komarist2025-12-28 23:54
Think he scrapes the MAL link from episode discussion threads and [Cinderella Gray's has been mistakenly linking the first cour's all season.](https://old.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/1ps1d5y/umamusume_cinderella_gray_episode_23_discussion/)
Now to wait on his "code is open source on github" reply ;)

I did message the mods about this at the beginning of the season but I guess nobody wanted to fix it

**Umamusume: Cinderella Gray P2** stays at 1st for three weeks in a row and has now won LWA which as the Twitter post indicates is equivalent to winning 2 voting weeks. That puts it at the equivalent of 6 voting weeks won.
**My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON** and **SPY x FAMILY S3** stay at 2nd and 3rd for three and four weeks in a row respectively to end the season.
**SANDA** moves up +3 spots to the Top 5 at 4th.
Finally, reentering the Top 10 at 10th for its fifth Top 10 appearance of the season is **Chitose Is in the Ramune Bottle**. The last time it was in the Top 10 was [Week #4](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/G4veV-AaMAA6sgg?format=jpg&name=medium) where it was 9th. On [Week #10](https://www.anitrendz.com/charts/top-anime/2025-12-14), it was 12th so this is a +2 increase from last week.
A shoutout to the shows that went 11/11 in the Fall 2025 Anime of the Week Top 10: *My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON*, *SPY x FAMILY S3*, *SANDA*, *This Monster Wants to Eat Me*, and *Ranma ½ (2024) S2*.

And Sanda is going to be the most underrated of the season :(

Kingdom needs more love, it is one of my favorite shows and I would hate for it to not continue to get adapted.
julius7112025-12-29 05:54
God this is just such a weak looking season of anime. With the exception or spy x family, everything either looks like fetish nonsense, knockoffs or just outright boring.
barktwiggs2025-12-29 07:35
I've only just realized that My Status as an Assassin has been abbreviated as ASSSTATS this whole time.
Queue_Jumping_Quack2025-12-29 08:23
We are in the twilight weeks between the ending of the current season and beginning of the new one. For me, just one final episode of "Mangaka" remains and then Fall 2025 is done. It wasn't a great season by any means, but there were a few good series as well as Gachiakuta continuing from summer.
Next season OTOH looks awesome. Hell, I've probably picked too many anime for winter and would be wiser to postpone some of them...
detarameReddit2025-12-29 10:44
I'm glad to see Gachiakuta end off above 1k, at least.
Dear-Baho20082025-12-30 09:43
I hope next anime season we get something good 🥀
Time_Fracture2026-01-02 04:30
You know it's the end of the season when you see less than 100 karma threads making it to the chart. Hey at least Kingdom, Digimon, Kashiwada-Oota, Kotesashi and Lil Miss Vampire made the chart at least.
VordovKolnir2026-01-05 00:16
*looks at karma rankings*
So uhhh...
What? I have not been looking in on these threads because I dropped every single anime except gacha this season and am waiting on the dubs.
But... this is literally the lowest I have ever seen. Double digit karma ratings in the top 30?

Pretty big jump for AssStats, and I thought most people gave up on this show.
Winter 2026 anime season starting from next week should be interesting to see.
[](#sadholo)
I, for one, hope I can finally see both Symphogear 2.0 and Symphogear 3.0 (Princession Orchestra and SI-VIS: The Sound of Heroes, respectively) on the chart next week with how most Fall shows are already done and most Winter shows aren't starting yet. [](#mugiwait)
Seeing as most shows had ended last week SxF seems poised to retain top spot next week, followed by GNOSIA. Both are among my top titles this season.
As for this season, I got time to watch some underground gems I missed from earlier this year. A dry season like this one is not bad every once in a while. Gives you free time to watch some older stuff.
Season 2 is great and nicely adds to stuff from season 1
Season 3 however is completely different and some people dont really like it but it's not bad
The one refreshing thing about To you eternity is that the story actually progresses and the world changes.
Here's to another great year of anime!
And I stretched as I watched it. XD
Why did I watch an entire anime about a bland masseuse and naked breasts rendered on screen?! The brief episode duration helped a lot.
I fell 4 episodes short of Debu to Love, I probably forgot after the detective side quest. Better catch up.
We can post more than one pic now according the r/anime law
Also how that is how i discover we have Watanare specials coming
Omg, that's great
It is also written by an assistant of the Soul-Eater/Fire-Force mangaka. So I'd expect it to be a more polished version, but nothing beyond that.
Unique battle shounen are the exception, formulaic is the norm.
I'll continue watching it once I stop procrastinating, dunno if or when though.

Really awesome adaptation all around
It makes me happy to see May I Ask For One Final Thing? ending strong at 4th place. I really hope for another season of it.
AssStats ended up being exactly what I expected, I never bothered watching even the first episode. Reading random discussion threads full of lamentations was really fun.
Next cour is guaranteed to surprise in terms of plot and have great animation with lots of character moments. 21 episodes total are expected.
Next season has pretty big shoes to fill on sundays.
Little Miss vampire is kind of a fun and floofly SoL.
Any particular reason Cingray's MAL score is linked to the cour 1 score and not cour 2?
Now to wait on his "code is open source on github" reply ;)

[Gnosia]>!Don't forget about her...!<
And Sanda is going to be the most underrated of the season :(
Next season OTOH looks awesome. Hell, I've probably picked too many anime for winter and would be wiser to postpone some of them...
So uhhh...
What? I have not been looking in on these threads because I dropped every single anime except gacha this season and am waiting on the dubs.
But... this is literally the lowest I have ever seen. Double digit karma ratings in the top 30?
Dafuq? I know this season was bad but... WOW.
