Looking for suggestions in the Supernatural/Bio-Horror genre

I know it isn't very defined but popular examples would be Tokyo Ghoul, Parasyte the Maxim, The summer Hikaru died, Kaiju 8. They all have the element of their body being taken over or changing because if a paranormal or supernatural event that borders on sci-fi.
I also like general paranormal horror based around mediums and occult. Like Natsume's book of friends, Mieruko, Dark Gathering, Hell Girl, Mushi-shi, Mononoke and the like.
I feel like I've watched everything good ATP so I'd love some new suggestions.

As an important heads up, **for OP** and anyone else who might be interested in watching Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni (Higurashi When They Cry), make sure you start with either: the [2006 anime](https://myanimelist.net/anime/934/Higurashi_no_Naku_Koro_ni) (and it's [second half Kai](https://myanimelist.net/anime/1889/Higurashi_no_Naku_Koro_ni_Kai)), the original visual novel, or the manga adaptation.

The 2020 anime Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni: Gou (Higurashi When They Cry: New), is a sequel to the original story, not a remake. **Don't accidentally start with Gou**, as it's full of spoilers.

(_Note: in most (if not all) regions, the only Higurashi anime on Crunchyroll, is Gou. Also, the original Visual Novel is currently available on Steam, under the title"Higurashi When They Cry: Hou", with the first arc being free to download._).
