Just started watching Kingdom

The show is absolutely amazing!! The CGI was jarring at first but I pushed through and I ended up binging like 20+ eps of the first season.The world building, characters and story are all so incredible, it's been a long time since an anime has had such a hold on me and I've wanted to keep watching.

Xins first proper campaign was absolute peak I had to keep watching to see what was going to happen next.

I wish I started watching this show sooner, despite the animation gripes I'm loving everything about this show.

Yep it’s the classic case of “just bear with the 1st season, it gets better later”. Would have had a much bigger following if not for the 1st season because it’s just that peak

The studio really shot themselves in the foot with the early lousy CGI - at least they had the good sense to improve on it, but imagine what a following the show would have if they had started off with season 3's animation.

Still, as I've said many times before, it's the story that's most important, but a great story can be hampered by lousy visuals.

Kingdom is phenomenal and underrated. Anyone who likes political, historical fantasy will enjoy it. Third season onward the animation really picks up too!

I watched Kingdom this year and the CGI in season 1 literally gave me headaches. But I stuck with it because the story was so good. I'm glad I did because it's really incredibly.

The CGI improved in season 2, but still wasn't great. By season 3, there are no longer any animation issues and the show is stunning. Keep watching and enjoy!

With regard to character development, world building, and plot lines (you know, everything that makes strong storytelling); Kingdom is really unmatched with any other anime. The only thing I could compare it to is legitimately Game of Thrones.

S3 of Kingdom is prob my fav anime arc of all time. Right up there with Pain Invasion (Naruto). You’re not gonna be disappointed.

Strongly recommend reading the manga. It’s a genuine masterpiece.

Nothing fills the Kingdom void. Mainly because it’s not just a great anime, but it’s a great historical fiction. It doesn’t need any sci-fi or special powers, it’s just an incredibly well written story.

Do read the manga as well, I started reading the manga like a week ago and currently at the Coalition Arc, I have seen few clips on YouTube and there's some weird ass censorship in the anime, in manga the war arcs are full of bloodshed and extreme panelling showcasing the brutality of the war which I didn't see in the anime at the same level. That being said Kingdom is pretty damn great and it's already in my top-10 favorite manga.

S1 adapted till ch 173 with one arc entirely missing and the other arc shifted to S2, my recommendation would definitely be to read the manga as a whole. The manga art at the beginning is definitely average but after like 50-60 chapters it got way better and over time art and panelling became excellent. In my opinion the anime is fine with what it does but manga is league of its own, it's ranked 13th on MAL for the top-rated manga of all time and it rightfully deserves it.

Binged the entire series recently. Despite the wonky animation in Seasons 1 & 2, I enjoyed all of it. It’s peak storywise imo and the animation in Seasons 3 and beyond only add to it.

Started reading the manga where the anime left off in Season 6. Enjoy your watch through!

I know here is r/anime but the cinema adaptations are also amazing. I recommend them for anybody who minds the trash CGI of the earlier seasons.

Yes but only from Season 3 onwards, and even then the majority of season 3+ OSTs are actually by Yamamoto Kohta (the composer from Attack on Titan Final Season)

I also got into Kingdom really recently! IMO the first 15 episodes were pretty fun albeit not spectacular. But the first campaign just has this absolutely massive spike in quality it was like a whole new show. And then the Wang Yi arc to end S1 out is actually just peak, one of my favorite anime arcs I've ever seen. And that's in spite of the fact that the entirety of S1 has some of the worst animation I've ever seen in my life.

I binged S2 and loved it, and I'm so excited to start S3 based on how people talk it up here.
