New to Anime. Give me some great picks for the new year!

I have watched two series: Death Note, and most recently, the Summer Hikaru Died. (I watched like 10 episodes of Delicious in Dungeon and loved that show too, but it has been so long, I would need to start over)

I loved both of these shows. I typically enjoy dark/depressing themes, but I was shocked to find myself deeply engrossed in the relationship between the two main characters in the summer Hikaru died.

I have been recommended Monster before, and I plan on watching that. Do you have any more suggestions? It can be really anything. I am open to all.

EDIT: I found the chart but would still love to hear from you. Will read that though!

Chainsaw Man. You mentioned Monster, that is a good recommendation too. You could try Ergo Proxy for something unique and different but don't expect to be hooked.

If you liked Dungeon Meshi, "Frieren" is a must watch despite the slow 4 episode prologue. Ideally you'd watch the prologue, but skipping is an option for an inpatient viewer. "Frieren" is for everyone, don't let anyone gatekeep you from it. Episodes 5 and 13 are worth reaching for the comedy alone, so make those your goals.

If you want something edgy/melodramatic, "Made in Abyss" has an awesome soundtrack and a edgy fantasy adventure.

For something with pacing, comedy, and catharsis, "Medalist".

If you like dark/depressing themes, and like TSHD, definitely This Monster Wants To Eat Me. Strongly focused on the MC's suicidal depression (and it's a really well done depiction of it), and then you have a girl who's a monster in disguise and wants to eat the MC/have romantic tension with her
