I didn't even watch 10 different Anime from 2025. (I watched a lot, but not all too many that released in 2025)

I'll rank what I did watch and I'll have to include a movie because, well, I loved it.

1 - Chainsaw Man - The Movie: Reze Arc (Phenomenal, fan of CSM before S1 even released, maybe biased?)

2 - To Be Hero X (Never expected this, my anime of the year if we don't count movies)

3 - Call of the Night S2 (I watched S1 a month before S2 released and fell in love with this series)

4 - Dandadan S2 (I expected this to be my anime of the year, but others surprised me this year, still amazing)

5 - Re:ZERO S3 (It started airing in 2024 but finished airing in 2025. Currently watching it, 11/16 eps)

6 - The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity (This is not typically my show but I enjoyed it and excited for S2)

Runners-up/honorable mentions: See You Tomorrow at the Food Court, Leviathan, Uchuujin Muumuu, Shabake, Shirohiyo - Reincarnated as a Neglected Noble: Raising My Baby Brother with Memories from My Past Life, and Fermat no Ryouri

*Note that a few series from this year, including some on the list or honorable mentions, I'm still watching and am yet to finish and/or are still airing

*Still have yet to get to and mean to watch a number of other series like Takopii no Genzai, Necronomico no Cosmic Horror Show, Wandance, Sanda, Witch Watch, Lord of Mysteries, Wei Miao Rensheng, Cengjing You Yongshi, and I'm probably leaving off some.

So as I said, tentative, but I'm confident that at least the majority will likely stand when all's said and done. All and all not as good as 2024 and 2023 for my favorite individual new series (as in, I'd prefer and rank my favorites from those years higher than this), but better than the very lacking 2022.

2. Apothecary Diaries Season 2
3. Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle

6. Trillion Game
7. A Wild Last Boss Appeared
8. Clevatess

11. Sword of the Demon Hunter

Including only shows that started in 2025:

1. Tatsuki Fujimmoto 17-26*

2. Milky Subway

3. Anne Shirley

4. Apocalypse Hotel

5. Fragrant Flower

6. Takopi's Original Sin

7. Catch me at the Ballpark

8. Food Court

9. Zenshuu

10. Gnosia

6. Watanare

10. Rock is a Lady’s Modesty

11. Silent Witch

When I think about the year as a whole I don’t feel super positive but when I just focus on what I liked most suddenly the year seems awesome.

11 okay, I like it that’s spicy. I get to include 1 more

1. My Dress-Up Darling S2
2. Ruri Rock
3. This Monster Wants to Eat Me
4. MHA the Final Season

6. Spy x Family S3
7. Ave Mujica
8. Watanare
9. Secrets of the Slient Witch
10. Windbreaker S2
11. A Mangaka’s Weirdly Wonderful Workplace

Curious if you liked Ave Mujica or MyGo more. I prefer MyGo as I feel the emotional catharsis hit more, but that wouldn’t have felt right for the story they were telling in Ave Mujica. Hoping for a 3rd joint season to wrap everything up

In no particular order:

Dandadan
Apothecary Diaries
Tojima Wants to be a Kamen Rider
100 Girlfriends
Ranma 1/2
Chainsaw Man Reze
Rock is a Lady's Modesty
Umamusume Cinderella Gray
Zenshu

Welcome to Gnosia, where the rules are made up and the results don't matter

I wanted to make a top 10 but this 3 is definitely way above than everything else in my opinion

1: To be hero X
2: Takopis original sin
3: Mha final season
