Finished (almost) with the Big 3 — what should I watch next?
I’m sure this question gets asked a lot and is probably heavily debated, but I’ll do my part and ask it again.
I’m currently on the back stretch of finishing the Big 3 and would love to hear everyone’s recommendations on what to watch next.
For a little background: I started with Naruto and loved it, then moved on to Boruto (caught up on all the dubbed episodes), then One Piece (also caught up on the dubbed episodes), and now I’ve finished Bleach and am watching TYBW.
One thing I’ve learned through all of this is that I much prefer shows that are already finished. With Boruto and One Piece, I realized I’m terrible at keeping up with ongoing releases and tend to forget to check back in.
Bleach is quickly becoming my favorite, and I’m not entirely sure why, it just feels right. One Piece is incredible in terms of story and character development, but at times the pacing and filler make it feel dragged out. Naruto will always have a special place since it was my first of the Big 3, but comparing them now, it just doesn’t quite stack up to the other two for me and ends up in third.
Based on all that, what would you recommend I watch next? Finished series preferred, but I’m open to anything that feels similar in tone or quality.

Answering your question, Attack on Titan is usually what people go for when starting anime and since you like action shonen, you will most probably like it.
Similarly, Yu Yu Hakusho and Hunter x Hunter are fantastic and you can see a lot of influence on Naruto in particular. YYH is great dubbed, for HxH watch the 2011 series. These are also better than the big three.
Break into sports with the superb Hajime no Ippo which is a shounen boxing series and my personal favorite series.
Kimetsu no Yaiba, Jujutsu Kaisen, Magi, Rurouni Kenshin (1996, up to ep 62 then watch the OVA), Black Clover, Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibouken 2020, Full Metal Alchemist, and Undead Unluck are other great follow up options.
Then Gurren Lagann, Evangelion, Steins;Gate, Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, Death Note, DanDaDan, Solo Leveling, Konosuba, AoT, Frieren, MHA, ZOM 100, Golden Boy
This is a mix of old/new, maybe give sub a try
Also, have you seen the two Full Metal Alchemist shows? I would suggest watching the older one before Brotherhood as it makes the latter series better.
Other than that, the only other anime I have watched is death note which is why my post is so vague. I haven’t really acquired a “genre” I like which is why I am open to all suggestions!!
nana; kaguya sama, my little monster, violet evergarden (if you want to try romance)
Death Note, Vinland Saga, or Attack on Titan if you prefer something a bit more serious or dark, but I'd wait a little while and watch some other anime first.
The most frequent discussions around here are about either currently airing or upcoming seasonal anime. Battle shounen, and especially old battle shounen anime discussions are rarer.
