SnooSquirrels97312025-12-29 23:31

JJK Season 3

Shimmering-Sky2025-12-29 23:32

Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 and nothing else comes close.

[](#hypeoverload)

Cally832025-12-29 23:33

Frieren Season 2

Jujutsu Kaisen - Culling Game pt 1

Oshi no Ko Season 3

Hells paradise Season 2

WataNare - Next Shine

Wash it all away

Playing death games..

The holy grail of Eris

I could go on and on, another absolute banger of a season to start the year off.

ExaminationNo91862025-12-29 23:37

Frieren S2 is this season?

I just looked on MAL, and didn't see it?

LakerBlue2025-12-29 23:40

I don’t mean this abrasives but you didn’t look on the right season or something is wrong with your computer because it is literally the first show listed. Also see [its page](https://myanimelist.net/anime/59978)

Cally832025-12-29 23:54

Yes, January 16th.

ExaminationNo91862025-12-29 23:36

The one I am actually wanting to watch is "Journal with Witch".

There are one or two that I will give the 3 episode test with but don't have much expectation I will last even the 3 episodes:
"Tune In to the Midnight Heart"
"The Darwin Incident"
"Wash it All Away"

Everything else is season 2/3/4/59 of shows I never had interest in or generally stuff I have no interest in at all.

lazy_lombax2025-12-30 00:12

>Everything else is season 2/3/4/59 of shows I never had interest in or generally stuff I have no interest in at all.

Even Frieren season 2?

ExaminationNo91862025-12-30 00:23

I knew Frieren had a season 2 due, I didn't realise it was this coming season.

I didn't see it on the upcoming Winter Season list on MAL, so I thought we still had to wait.

Dolomite8082025-12-29 23:36

Ongoing series:

Frieren Season 2

New Series:

The Invisible Man and His Soon-To-Be Wife

LakerBlue2025-12-29 23:43

Frieren S2 is my most anticipated.

Hell’s Paradise S2 and Tune into the Midnight are tied for second. If you love a good harem, then I cannot recommend tune into the midnight enough.

If Fake Strange gets on a consistent schedule (as opposed to what’s been happening) it’ll be my definitive #2.

Fire Force would be if I didn’t plan to wait on the sub to finish airing.

JustARedditAccoumt2025-12-30 05:32

>If Fake Strange gets on a consistent schedule (as opposed to what’s been happening) it’ll be my definitive #2.

It's been confirmed for months that it will air weekly.

LakerBlue2025-12-30 18:57

Appreciate it, I don’t follow that kinda news much.

JustARedditAccoumt2025-12-31 15:52

You're welcome!

alconnow2025-12-29 23:44

- **Tamon’s B-Side**

- **Ikoku Nikki/Journal with Witch**

- **Champignon Witch**

- **Jujutsu Kaisen - Culling Game Part 1**

- **Medalist season 2**

- **Golden Kamuy Final Season**

BusyHoney97672025-12-29 23:44

Outside of the big series everyone knows I'm looking forward to Medalist Season 2. Medalist is a very underwatched series more people need to check out.

Also looking forward to Ikoku Nikki I've been told the manga is great. Champignon Witch also seems interesting.

Silent_Appearance5912025-12-29 23:45

Edit: didn’t realize it said winter 2026, thought it just said 2026 in general

Chainsaw man season 2 and nothing else comes close.

JJK season 3 also.

IXajll2025-12-29 23:53

New shows:

* Ikoku Nikki

* Sentenced to be a Hero

* Darwin Incident

Sequels:

* Frieren

* Medalist

SouekiSennoSTM2025-12-30 00:00

No series which I actively follow are returning (Gnosia will be continuing on as a two cour which started in autumn though), so it's all new series.

And for new series, it's far and away The Darwin Incident.

Since that is not only my most anticipated of the upcoming season but of the entire year as a whole. It's based on a premise I'm very interested in even outside the context of anime/fiction generally, and we need more Sci-Fi back in general and different kinds of Sci-Fi series.

A fair bit below that, but some other ones high up there would be:

- Kaya-chan Isn't Scary
- Wash It All Away
- Ikoku Nikki
- The Invisible Man and His Soon-to-Be Wife
- Shiboyugi: Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table

Mitsuyan_2025-12-30 00:06

Torture Princess S2 and Oshi no Ko S3.

I'm looking forward to the Pokémon v Frieren battles again just as much as I'm looking forward to them both coming back.

Henry16992025-12-30 00:07

Tune in to the Midnight Heart

Reefer4life2025-12-30 00:07

Madoka Magica Walpurgisnaut Rising

- after two separate year long delays, and 12, nearing 13 years after the release of Rebellion, we finally have a release month and date for Japan. I cannot wait to see the worldwide release, in theaters after having been a fan for 9 years now.

Oh and Frieren <3

Aska092025-12-30 00:17

Polish cinemas ran Demon Slayer and Chainsaw Man, so I'm *really* hoping they're gonna have Madoka as well

Derallerechtere2025-12-30 15:56

I thought it's a japanese only release

Aska092025-12-30 16:01

Anime movies usually get released in Japan first and then internationally after a month or two

Derallerechtere2025-12-30 16:14

Ok i hope it will come to germany too

Reefer4life2025-12-30 16:15

It’s a general consensus not only will it be in theaters but that they might re release all of the movies in theaters for a short time before the movie comes out.

minnieboss2025-12-30 00:11

- Tamon's B-Side

Derallerechtere2025-12-30 16:00

Do you mean with watanare season 2 these 5 episodes that released in japanese cinema?

minnieboss2025-12-30 16:11

Yes, they're getting a TV release tomorrow.

Derallerechtere2025-12-30 16:20

Crazy

Hobbyread942025-12-30 00:16

Winter 2026 Season i will watch:

Uruwashi no Yoi no Tsuki (In the Clear Moonlit Dusk),

Dark Moon: Tsuki no Saidan (Dark Moon: The Blood Altar Animation with ENHYPEN),

Douse, Koishite Shimaunda. 2nd Season (Anyway, I'm Falling in Love with You. Season 2)

Finally some good romance anime coming up so i'm pretty excited!

duncandun2025-12-30 00:20

Golden kamuy and it’s not close!! (Ok frieren is close)

Derallerechtere2025-12-30 15:56

Do you know how do we view the movie?

Mad-Scientist_7392025-12-30 00:31

Fate/Strange Fake

Playest_42472025-12-30 04:32

I haven't seen a new fate in ages.

This isn't one of the gotcha game ones is it?

Mad-Scientist_7392025-12-30 10:12

No, it's an anime

Playest_42472025-12-30 10:15

Yes but there have been fate anime that were adapted from gotcha games as opposed to visual novels haven't there?

Mad-Scientist_7392025-12-30 10:33

Yes, the whole Fate/grand order franchise is adapted from the mobile game of the same name. Fate/Strange Fake is a light novel. Two prologue episodes have already been released I guess, in the last 2 years. The main series is starting from January, 2026

Playest_42472025-12-30 10:35

Looking forward to it I don't think I've seen one of these since UBW

Mad-Scientist_7392025-12-30 10:50

Have you seen Zero and Heaven's Feel? I don't think it's necessary to understand fate/strange fake, but it will give you a better enjoyment if you watch those, and also because they are great.

Playest_42472025-12-30 16:59

Zero I saw.

Was Heaven's feel the movie series?

Mad-Scientist_7392025-12-30 17:36

Yes

Playest_42472025-12-30 18:58

I think I saw the first one

Ginsan-AK2025-12-30 00:38

* Trigun Stargaze
* Golden Kamuy final season
* Noble Reincarnation
* The Villainess is Adored by the Prince of the Neighbor Kingdom
* The Holy Grail of Eris
* In the Clear Moonlit Dusk
* Hikuidori
* Ao no Miburo
* The Case Book of Arne
* Wash It All Away
* Champignon Witch
* Dark Moon: The Blood Altar
* Easygoing Territory Defense by the Optimistic Lord
* HanaKimi
* Kaya-chan isn't Scary
* Hell Mode

Playest_42472025-12-30 04:33

I skipped the new Trigun, is Stargaze a sequel or what?

Ginsan-AK2025-12-30 07:10

From what I know, yeah it is a sequel to Stampede.

Armdel2025-12-30 00:41

Frieren S2

Jujutsu Kaisen S3

Hell's Paradise S2

MHA Vigilantes S2

Frieren being the most anticipated one followed by Jujutsu Kaisen

Warm-Enthusiasm-95342025-12-30 00:50

Frieren and Holy Grail of Eris

Pristine_Cod51892025-12-30 01:09

Other than the returns, Sentenced to Be a Hero looks the most interesting to me. Frieren 2, Vigilantes 2 and JJK 3 are my main ones, and I'm starting on Fire Force to get caught up for the final cour.

Novus_Spiritus172025-12-30 01:16

Frieren, Hell's Paradise, Jujutsu Kaisen, Golden Kamuy, Fate Strange/Fake, Trigun Stargaze. Its a packed season for me!

SmallJon2025-12-30 01:40

*Frieren s2* for the sequels, and i'd say *You and I Are Polar Opposites* for the first-times. *MHA: Vigilantes s2* and *There was a Cute Girl in the Hero's Party so I tried Confessing* as their runner-ups, as I think they have a higher chance to miss the target.

Theleux2025-12-30 02:15

Cosmic Princess Kaguya, You and I Are Polar Opposites, and Ikoku Nikki

Ninja_Lazer2025-12-30 02:20

Not a knock, but I’m expecting JJK and Frieren to just continue being excellent, so I’m not on the edge of my seat.

The end of Golden Kamuy does have me really excited though, as it is one of those shows that is also always excellent but additionally defies my expectations habitually.

If I hadn’t read part 7 than JoJo’s would also be right alongside it.

Playest_42472025-12-30 04:35

Can I start JoJo with steel Ball run?

Ninja_Lazer2025-12-30 06:20

Technically yes.

Each part is meant as a stand alone with SBR being a soft reset of sorts.

That said, you will be missing a lot of references and more importantly parts 7, 8 and 9 “remix” ideas and characters. A large part of the appeal is seeing how certain characters adhere to or cast aside their previous iterations. Araki writes them in such a way that familiarity with the previous material inherently sets specific expectations that Araki is free to use to create narrative tension or surprise.

So if you wished to, you could start at Part 7, but I would recommend reading/watching the other parts first.

Throwaway7853202025-12-30 02:35

You and I are polar opposites since it's gonna be a complete adaptation even if it's not consecutive cours

TheBusStop122025-12-30 02:46

Frieren, Oshi no Ko, Golden Kamuy and Jujitsu Kaisen.

All sequels. No new shows airing the winter season have caught my eye yet (I'm looking forward to Witch Hat Atelier and a Witch in Mongolia, but those air later next year) but hopefully that will change once they're coming out. I'll keep an eye out

saga9992025-12-30 02:46

Tis Time for "Torture," Princess

Playest_42472025-12-30 04:31

There's no way jjk s3 lives up to season 2... Right?

JustARedditAccoumt2025-12-30 05:32

Fate/strange Fake

Dull_Spot_82132025-12-30 05:39

Steel Ball Run is my most anticipated anime of the entire year.

blueteamk0872025-12-30 05:58

New Show: Roll Over and Die
Sequel: Medalist

Derallerechtere2025-12-30 16:01

So many yuri this is a record

hikoboshi_sama2025-12-30 09:59

- Steel Ball Run
- You and I are Polar Opposites
- I Want to End this Love Game
- Ikoku Nikki

If Fate/Strange fake is airing on a consistent schedule, i'm gonna watch it.

Princemichaelll2025-12-30 11:53

Not really “winter” but Bleach Blood War is what I’m looking forward to for 2026

Derallerechtere2025-12-30 15:57

Roll over and die and is it ok to lose your virginity to an android

Time_Fracture2026-01-02 06:09

I really wanted to say **Tune In to the Midnight Heart** since the manga readers hyping it like it's the second incarnation of Quintessential Quintuplets, but I'm really cautious of the animation quality.

Beside it are **Wash It All Away**, **Darwin Incident**, **Sentenced to be a Hero** and **You and I Are Polar Opposites**.
