The year is coming to an end, my friends. Another half of a decade has already passed. I hope the next half is as healthy as possible for everyone and that I am not living an 'old normal.' Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you and your families. [Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou]

Didnt it end where...it well ended?
not going to DM you spoilers, just read it bruh.
It just set such lofty heights for this niche post-apocalyptic Slice of Life subgenre and can be inducted as an all-time classic.
I believe it's an unrivalled masterpiece in philosophical story telling. If one digs just below the surface (with the necessary philosophical training) one notice so many profound messages and insights that could only be communicated without them being hinted at or disclosed by TKMZ.
In my mind Girls Last Tour is almost a though experiment... "If you strip down existence and life to it's absolutely most basic, how and where can you discover meaning?"
Happy Holidays op and a Happy new year to everyone and their families! Lets keep being nice to each other in "our comunity" sharing our hobby.
While all the historical footage is playing around them, the thing they pay attention to is the video of the schoolgirls eating fries.
They've seen war, they ran from it, but never experienced a normal life...
In the manga the scene is used as a final statement on the relation between Chi and Yuu's lived present and the world's past (and future). The story in GLT is about them finding ways to appreciate existence and life at its very most stripped down and bare, and TKMZ reflects in certain chapters that this includes stripping them from a direct relation with history and connections to people in the past.
And in this scene it's *critical* that the past is displayed through *a camera*. TKMZ is obviously well read about the theory of photography (citing [Roland Barthes](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camera_Lucida_\(book\)) in the sequel) and portray their camera as something dangerous in GLT. It's not only given to them by a person unable to appreciate the world's bared existence (Kanazawa) but the first way that Chi and Yuu use it they get [distracted from reality and struck on the head by a religious artefact](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xFFl79tIbzo), with said artefact being a key to their way of appreciating existence (them seeing God as a form of intersubjectivity). [It's all Heidegger](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gaVmEN-vGWk).
So in this scene they are given access to the past through the camera, but they know by now that the past it portrays isn't a past that allows the human-to-human communiction that gives existence value and meaning. Yuu is more stressed in the following scene than about seeing how the world ended.
So by showing us so much of the history of the world White Fox accidentally prevents us from learning the most profound message in Girls Last Tour, namely that existence is good even if we're stripped down to Chi and Yuu's existence. We didn't need the history for that, but now that we have it TKMZ message is less clear.
