if you wanna branch out from shonen my rec list is otherwise pretty diverse, minus horror

To be honest while you didn't used to it try animes that aren't Japanese. Lord of the mysteries and scissor seven are peak but Chinese.

Violet Evergarden, Knights of Sidonia, Sword Art Online

JJK, Chainsaw Man, need some classics like Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood, Steinsgate, and if you want non shonen try Clannad and Clannad After Story, also Gurren Lagan, and for 90s anime Cowboy Bebop, Berserk, Rurouni Kenshin, and YYH

Solo leveling, black clover, and bleach are a couple of my favorites coming from starting my anime journey watching Naruto and Dragon ball.

If you want a break from fighting anime, try Death Note

Otherwise ill rec Attack on Titan or Seven Deadly Sins

Personal favorite of mine is Skeleton Knight in Another World. Some scenes that I wouldn't want a kid sitting at my side while I was watching, especially the very first one, but it's mostly good clean anime fun.

Fma brotherhood

Check out Afro Samurai. I cannot recommend this one enough. Main character is voiced by Sam L. Jackson

I'll recommend Dr. Stone - it's a fun sci-fi action/adventure series, and has a nice balance of serious moments and humor like DBZ.

Solo leveling, sword art online, berserk, JJK, and Baki

If you haven't already I would recommend going back and watching the original dragon Ball.

Believe it or not Tien used to be a badass

If you like DBZ, you have to watch BLEACH

OTHERS:
Tokyo Ghoul

That time I got reincarnated as a slime

Noblesse

Fairytail

Black Clover

Attack on Titan

Sword Art Online

Soul Eater

Assassination Classroom

Deathnote

Psycho Pass

Kill la Kill

Vampire Knight

CODE:Breaker

Wind Breaker

Kaiju no. 8

Gundam Wing

Servamp

Blue Exorcist

D Gray-man

Etc....

Gurren lagann

I will always say to go watch Yu Yu Hakusho. Relatively short for a shounen at 112 episodes. It's complete and is just one of my favorite anime. Great english dub on par or better than japanese one. Dude dies, not spoiler as it's like the second line of the first episode, and things escalate from there. Bunch of demon fighting and good old fashioned brawling mixed with some supernatural powers.

Another favorite of mine is Outlaw Star. Another short one at 26 episodes. This is more of a space opera/western show. Guns that can shoot spells, some weird taoist guys, and spaceships that have big freaking arms. It's just great fun.

People will just recommend their favorites, try watching some more popular ones and then slowly find a more specific preference or just watch 2-3 episodes of whatever catches your eye to see if you would like it

Demon slayer and jjk are naruto esque in that they both follow a main character fighting battles and gaining new power. My personal fav is hunter x hunter though

Code geass

Death note

Clannad

Steins;gate

U need to make myanimelist account to keep track of ur list

I really love Black Lagoon. Great classic. Gangster. is also really good. Hellsing Ultimate is my all time favorite but I feel like it’s kind of niche, but I still think you should check it out (there are 2, Hellsing and Hellsing Ultimate, you want ultimate only). There’s not much I can give for current titles since I mostly read manhwa now, but my little cousin really loves Windbreaker. ….I’ll just put them in list form without too much explanation:

Black Lagoon

Gangster.

Hellsing Ultimate

Windbreaker

Hell’s Paradise

Blue Exorcist

Is it wrong to pick up girls in a dungeon (I think you might like it)

There’s 2 other series I want to mention but I can’t remember their names. So maybe some others in here can help this auntie out. In 1 of them the protagonist is a headless woman in a cage and she has a maid and an ogre bodyguard type and they solve mysteries. Another is a wizard and a witch and they carry a big coffin and the witch transforms when the coffin opens to fight.

If you like Shonen like Dragon Ball Z and Naruto, then maybe you'll like Bleach and One Piece. Maybe even D.Grey-man, but I have been told that the anime for D.Grey-man is absolutely terrible.

I can never recommend Dungeon Meshi or Frieren hard enough.

Sure, Demon Slayer’s a good one, with you seeming to like action anime. I personally only gave a ghost of a shot, because I didn’t like the art style off the bat, but the action is really good with high stakes, and it makes you wonder how on earth the demon slayers even make it out of their battles alive. Ended up loving it.

Bleach. Final season is airing in 2026 so you can catch up and watch it.

Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood and Death Note are also a few solid options.

If you survive Code Geass, let's talk then

Demon slayer is fun and entertaining but not much else. U can watch mob psycho, its only 3 seasons and is completed, its also animated by bones who did my hero

I would recomend you to watch attack on titan its peak masterpiece with so many foreshadowing and its very hard to predict.
