I'm looking for an anime where the protagonist's father is killed because the protagonist has a power within him, and then he goes in search of revenge.

My brother says I recommended an anime to him where the protagonist loses his father because he was killed protecting him from a power or something like that, and then the protagonist runs away and two guys help him control his power.
And it's not Project Arm.

This sounds a lot like Blue Exorcist. The father figure dies protecting the protagonist from his hidden power and then he goes to train and learn to control it with help from other exorcist students.

I also considered it, but my brother says it's not him, since his father died protecting him from, let's say, the law of his country or something like that.

Maybe it’s The Legend of the Legendary Heroes? The protagonist, Ryner Lute, has a cursed ability called Alpha Stigma and the laws of the kingdom treat people like him as dangerous monsters who should be executed. His father figure and family end up being targeted by the authorities and he only survives because they protect him. After escaping that fate, he spends a lot of time on the run and later with people trying to control and manage his powers. Two important male characters guide him: Sion Astal, who becomes king and protects Ryner from being killed and Lucile Eris, a powerful fighter who forces him to keep his abilities in check. It also has that mix of trauma, revenge and being hunted because of the power he carries, which sounds pretty close to the story you described.
