The time has come for me to watch MAGI.
I think everyone understands the plight we go through while choosing an anime to watch sometimes!
There are anime that work for you right from episode 1 and there are anime where you need to sit through atleast some episodes till the premise is established.
I am not trying to compare any anime here. It’s just our mood sometimes. No matter how many anime we choose and start, nothing seems to sit well with us.
After watching the water magician, i put a post asking for recommendations here and i received alot of great recommendations and am planning to watch all of them but right now what i really wanted was an anime that would stimulate my imagination with its scale and setting.
After putting down 7 different anime after watching the first episodes, not because they were bad but because they didn’t vibe w me at that point.
Finally i chose Magi after keeping it in my bucket list for years.
All i can say is, Man! I am hooked!!!
There were so few anime that managed to get me excited right from episode 1. (I dropped AOT 4 times before finally starting it back in 2017)
Magi is one of them.
Other anime that had me hooked right from the first episode were:
Naruto
Pokemon
SAO
Black clover
Erased
Jobless Reincarnation
Water magician (ended up not liking it)
And now Magi!
(There are some i forgot - list isn’t complete)
Just wanted to say thank you to all the kind members of this sub.
And do you have days where you cant sit through an anime or are searching for the perfect anime to watch endlessly? If yes, which anime saved you and had you hooked right from episode 1?

I never completely drop a show, but for most I usually don’t watch more than a new episode . But for that, I couldn’t stop until I finished it.
Thanks!
I never truly drop any anime, they just wait for me until their time comes.😅
Even for the shorter one cour 11 - 13 episode ones (or even shorter than that), I find that I need to spread it out to at least three to four days to provide sufficient breathing room to be able to ruminate and commit to memory enough of what happened in each few episodes, otherwise I feel like it'd all become one big blur.
Few hundreddd!!
Woahh. Thats alot.
My bad
Magi is great. You should check out the prequel Sinbad no Bouken as well and continue the anime into the manga because it never got the S3 it should have.
Thanks for the advice!
And i will surely check out the prequel too. Thank you.
Since we're on the topic of Magi, Orient isn't as good but it has the same creator and you can find a few similar writing flourishes. It got two one cour seasons a few years back.
To be fair, the last couple arcs of the manga and the ending were..... weird. I thought they were good, but they were *very* weird.
I love anime with strong male friendships/brotherly bonds.
It brings out the whole vikings fanboy in me.
Magi has great BGM!
You should watch Magi's second season if you haven't already. Its shockingly better than the first.
