It is good. The anime is good because of MAPPA, the fighting scenes are good. But the Writing is mid, it's based on creating hype moments and shocking moments. In the anime, season 2 is good, season 1 is mid.

It is a crazy good shonen battler. But still a shonen battler - so writing is adequate to shonen battler (thus slightly irrelevant).

No not really. It’s just not that good because it’s very predictable. With character arcs I’ve already seen before. Flashy moves that have been done a thousand times etc.

People don't just hate it because it's popular, Chainsaw Man for e.g. no one hate it because it's popular, everyone loves Chainsaw Man Manga, just some people who read manga got pissed off at season 1 because they used the CGI, and aside from people on YouTube shitting on it to get views, nobody hates it just because it's popular. There's always a reason. In JJK, I personally has been bored by it so many times, I dropped and picked it up again so many times, I somehow got through season 1, Season 2 I agree was good but, in season 2 too, when something wasn't going on, on the screen I would just get extremely bored by it. It's all about creating or setting up hype moments, before massive fights. And I would just be there for the fights.

Maybe they don’t like battle anime and the MC is a loser but other than that the animation, universe, and cast of characters is pretty much as good as it gets for shonen.

Its good, its just not written very well, its very character heavy similar to demon slayer, not saying either of these are bad i really like them. The story is compelling enough to be interesting and characters who are enough to keep you invested

The first two seasons are pretty well liked. There’s emotional impact to the story and the visuals help carry any slack. Up coming arc is not a lot of people’s favorite necessarily, so you might hear some grumbling about that.

Ask those people, instead of asking others to guess and assume why they think they might think it's bad.
Either way, its one of the most popular/loved series at the moment. So some people really like it some dont, that's it.

I think people say its bad because we're all generally a little upset about how the mangaka treats the most popular characters. But its still a very compelling story and it has a resonate message about the cyclical nature of life. The animation and voice acting are phenomenal (sub and dub). The nice thing about JJK is that the story isnt drawn out. Not a lot of filler. It moves at a good pace. It also does a good job of explaining the magic system without a ten minute dialogue before every fight. If you like kinda dark shows, you'll like this one. And even if you try it and you dont like it, so what? Thats how life goes sometimes.

Just because people say it's peak doesn't mean you'll like it. There are majority of people saying it's peak, and majority say it's bad. I stay in the middle.
Either way, I think you should watch it, the fight scenes are pretty good of season 2 if nothing else is.

As shonen as it gets so if you don't like the genre then you won't like the show. Personally, the story isn't all that great but the animated fights are worth the watch. Other than that, everything that becomes popular will get hate on just because.

For me :
1. Too many characters mean the main trio aren’t compelling enough. Nobara was fun though too bad the mangaka put in a freezer.
2. Putting a voice over explaining a sorcerer’s power is poor storytelling and a distraction to the action.
But if you enjoyed watching it then you shouldn’t care what I and others think.

The anime is fine.
The manga is not. It's like bleach and hunter x hunter had a baby, but something went wrong and the baby is misshapen.
The thing is Gege was monitored by an editor at the begining of his work, but since he got famous, he was let doing whatever he wanted, and the editor was changed because he didn't like him.
Gege (author) said in the past that he liked Megumi Fushiguro more and it *shows*. The dude has way more background, character development, and interesting powers than Itadori. Yuji is a failure as an MC, at the end of manga he doesn't look like a protagonist anymore. He just follows.
Author just went tripping and added more and more power creep to his story and created whatever he liked, but it's not good to read. He don't know how to build up so stuff happens out of nowhere. A lot of plots were left unfinished. A lot of things off screen. His power system (techniques, energy etc) is not well defined at all. It's just hax. Everywhere.
BUT. Anime and Manga isn't the same thing. If there is new seasons of JJK I think there could be some stuff fixed.
