Question about School Days

Hello, I would like to apologize in advance because this question has probably already been asked, but I couldn't find a specific answer. More specifically, I am referring to the last scene of episode 9 and the beginning of episode 10, where we see Sawanage saying “I love you” to Kotonoha, and in the next episode we see her practically naked. So, finally, the question is: did Sawanage have sex with Kotonoha? Has anyone read the manga and can tell me what happened in it?

I had to check the episodes after seeing your comment and it looks like you're right, I never realised this in my first watch 😭. And even still, its subtly shown but very much implied that, that dude r ped Katsura who was numb that moment.

That is a somewhat complex question, mainly due to the Japanese perception of rape. In the VN, Sawanaga can wind up dating the 'losing' (at the time) heroine, and the dude clearly has an issue with consent. The problem is that Japanese doesnt really consider actions like that to be rape.

In the VN, if you go a more 'pure' Sekai route (as in you dump Kotohoha ASAP, and make it a clean break), Makoto and Sekai come across Sawanaga and Kotonoha alone in a classroom, he wants to fuck, she seems reluctant. At no point do any of the characters, voyeurs or otherwise, act like they are witnessing a rape, it just seems to be (at least at the time) an accepted idea that men will pressure women into having sex with them.

So, as far as I can see, the scene in the anime is referencing that scene in the VN, he found her in an emotionally vulnerable state, then pressured her into having sex with him, though I do not think the Japanese considered that rape.
