Golden Kamuy not making that list is just pathetic
tripleaamin2025-12-30 21:50
Sadly I’m not surprised by that. What I am surprised is strange fake only at 7 considering the 3 above it.
Snake_ly2025-12-30 21:54
The whole Hate stuff has good action but the story is low to mid tier.
Edit: forgot to mention, Hell's paradise has better animation story and character development, but I didn't watch the other 2.
Ashteron2025-12-30 21:57
Have you read it or are you just generalising in spite of various Fate series having different writers?
Snake_ly2025-12-30 22:02
I watched a couple of them and they seem to have the same format. I typically don't read manga, just watch anime. However even if that's the case why would people put their money on fate when hells paradise has built up that reputation and momentum?
DragoSphere2025-12-30 22:05
They have the same general *setup*
Once they get going they tend to diverge quite significantly
Snake_ly2025-12-30 22:10
I personally think where it went wrong is the world building and the writing. Some of the children in it are written like middle aged people, and it feels super weird.
Ashteron2025-12-30 22:09
>I watched a couple of them and they seem to have the same format.
Since when have we moved from story quality to story format?
>However even if that's the case why would people put their money on fate when hells paradise has built up that reputation and momentum?
I'm pretty sure Fate has better reputation.
Snake_ly2025-12-30 22:15
I did this exercise where a couple of people are shown the same piece of art and different people saw different things. What seemed so obvious to me, wasn't seen by other people and vice versa. I think this is exactly what's happening here.
Ashteron2025-12-30 22:21
Okay? I'm just saying you shouldn't generalise, because not every Fate is the same. It's like saying all Gundam or Star Wars must be bad, because you didn't like some of the entries.
Snake_ly2025-12-30 22:37
I guess I worded it poorly, I think the world setting is boring. Correct me if I'm wrong, but with every fate there are massive fights, no people running, no after math, It's like the world is deserted. Both Gundam and Star wars have dope worlds, side characters, casualties, if someone kills a character in Star wars, you see the killer getting hunted down.
Ashteron2025-12-30 21:53
It's just a popularity contest. Being disappointed at it is pointless, because it's never going to be not disappointing.
nahobino_aogami2025-12-30 21:53
Issue might be long running anime will have less people following and I think this one is kinda niche (from what I always ser on MAL), but it's at 16th, so pretty good
Ashteron2025-12-30 21:55
On the contrary, if you take a look at the ranking the sequel bias is blatant.
nahobino_aogami2025-12-30 21:56
True, but this one is like on season 5 or 6 haha 😂
tripleaamin2025-12-30 22:17
JJK and Golden Kamuy have around the same number of episodes if one were to try to catch up.
garfe2025-12-30 22:35
JJK is also a significantly more popular manga
Komorebi_LJP2025-12-30 22:03
Never has had much popularity here, lucky it has had a decent audience in Japan giving us a full adaptation to boot!
chinnychinchinchin12025-12-30 22:17
Golden kamuy is coming????!!! I hadn’t seen anything about it. I’m so stoked. Time for another rewatch
garfe2025-12-30 22:34
It's 5 seasons in and wasn't a huge show internationally
Shinkopeshon2025-12-31 02:22
Not enough people are cultured enough to appreciate true art smh
FusaFox2025-12-30 21:46
Fire Force over Fate is crazy.
vpi62025-12-30 21:55
Main storyline continuation versus a spin-off with only a secondary original character and tertiary character of a different spin-off returning. Not unexpected.
FusaFox2025-12-30 21:56
Valid.
Cthulhar2025-12-30 21:58
Fate is just recycled action anime at this point and it’s getting fatiguing to watch
n080dy1232025-12-30 22:30
It's really not, Fate's still very distinct in its concept among modern anime, each mainline spinoff is doing something unique with its concept, and *Strange Fake especially* is one of the coolest spins on that concept from one of the best LN authors out there.
There also hasn't really been a new Fate anime in the last 6 years. Just continuations, and outside the Heavens Feel and Grand Order movies it was weird spinoff bullshit like Prisma Illya, Today's Menu with Emiya Family, and El-Melloi's Case Files which either aren't action anime or aren't about Servants and Grail Wars, or Extra Last Encore which was a stealth sequel to a game series whose prequel parts still haven't been brought to the West so it didn't make sense and nobody cared. Even the most recent TV anime was FGO Babylonia and that's picking up from almost the end of the story of a mobile game.
garfe2025-12-30 22:36
That's ridiculous to say considering the large gaps in adaptations
PhaseSixer2025-12-30 21:58
Huge Fate fan but im not surprise this is Fire Forces final Season
n080dy1232025-12-30 22:24
Fate hasn't really had a new TV entry in the series since 2019, which plops you in the near-conclusion of FGO's story. Since the big anime popularity explosion around the pandemic, I feel like Fate as an *anime* franchise has kinda fallen by the wayside. And yeah, being a spinoff with the only recognizable character to most being adult Waver as a side character, and mains in Flat who's from Case Files which most people don't even know is a Fate anime, Ayaka Sajyou being a sort of re-imagining(?) of the protagonist of Fate/Prototype, and Jack the Ripper as a re-imagining of possibly the least popular servant from Apocrypha, not a lot to latch onto there.
Edit: ...not sure how I forgot Gilgamesh. Also Enkidu, who's recognizable from Babylonia even if the FGO one wasn't *actually* Enkidu.
Ashteron2025-12-30 22:30
>And yeah, being a spinoff with the only recognizable character to most being adult Waver
Uhh, Gilgamesh?
n080dy1232025-12-30 22:37
Fuck, how did I forget the only character that's literally just the ~~best~~ same fuckin MF from he original story. And of course his not-gay clay.
Slowlii2025-12-30 21:49
Polar Opposites is gonna be peak
tripleaamin2025-12-30 21:59
Must watch for romcom fans. I adore the manga. Lapin track given their track record with Shoushmin and undead girl murder farce are gonna deliver
somacula2025-12-30 22:01
That's what they all say
Rap2rerise2025-12-30 21:50
Didn't expect Chained Soldier to be so high, though I suppose the general expectation is that it'll be miles better than the first season
09jtherrien2025-12-30 22:11
I wonder if the blue ray versions are up online
I stopped watching because it was so bad. I heard the Blu-ray were better.
KorekaBii2025-12-30 22:43
The short preview teasers they've been recently releasing show very promising ecchi scenes, which was what everyone was hoping for (since Season 1's fell short, especially when compared to Gushing over Magical Girls which came out at the same time), when it was reported that Studio Passione would be taking over in Season 2.
Also the character artwork seems on point with the manga too. And a lot of fan-favorite characters (Yamashiro Ren with VA Kana Hanazawa) are coming
actionfirst12025-12-30 23:24
The female Gojo will soon be here
Darwin3432025-12-31 02:54
More like puppy Gojo lol
DanielAlves19042025-12-30 23:02
It changed studios, let's see if it will be enough.
Ordinal43NotFound2025-12-30 23:19
Also the new studio is Passione, who usually puts effort for their ecchi animes
Lower_Fan2025-12-31 04:06
Passione is my gonner ass ufotable now I'm excited.
Hectorc342025-12-30 23:27
Really hoping the new studio pulls it off, it’s one of those mangas that has amazing quality, Shonen, and ecchi all in one. The manga has the perfect balance, the adaption needs to be close with it. And the old studio couldn’t pull it off, so here’s to hoping the new studio does because this next part of the story is phenomenal. Though the peak should in the 3rd season of it gets one
VancityGaming2025-12-31 01:11
If you loved the anime, read the manga. I'm usually anime primary consumer but the manga for this is miles better
Local_Pickle_47172025-12-30 21:50
No Golden Kamuy is wild at least among known quantities.
VancityGaming2025-12-31 01:06
It's the best adventure story in anime. I don't get why it isn't huge but I'm glad it's getting an ending and just wasn't dropped.
Rivitur2025-12-30 21:50
How is sentenced to Be a Hero not top 5. These weebs

[deleted]
tripleaamin2025-12-30 21:55
Considering reliable leaker said 10 it’s probably true. More then likely so that it doesn’t catchup to manga too soon since it goes on hiatus quite often.
whiteoutonce2025-12-30 21:51
Theres alot from this list I'm looking forward to. Frieren, jjk, fire force, mha, and hells paradise
LostCanadianGoose2025-12-30 21:51
Everyone is sleeping on Darwin Incident
somacula2025-12-30 22:01
First time I've heard of it
KingMagni2025-12-30 23:33
It doesn't follow the aesthetics or settings of popular anime series, hence the lack of hype, but I hope it will be successful anyway (or at least the manga version would deserve it)
Vikkio922025-12-30 21:52
Anime-onlys are going to be so disappointed with Culling Game.
DayMysterious47172025-12-30 21:54
I hope mappa will expand on the underdeveloped parts. There were a lot on interesting concepts that never got developed in jjk
Vikkio922025-12-30 21:55
At least 80% of that series could be summed up as underdeveloped tbh
FitEar19242025-12-30 21:58
Culling games is not as bad as ppl claim it to be. I believe the reception for it will be even better than s2.
Vikkio922025-12-30 22:00
> Culling games is not as bad as ppl claim it to be. I believe the reception for it will be even better than s2.
S2 has arguably the two best arcs in the whole series so I doubt that.
GuideBusy31022025-12-30 22:45
Yuji vs Yuta
Zenin clan Massacre
Sendai colony
Hakari vs kazhimo
Fights are better when animated so Culling games will surpass Shibuya as anime adaptation easily.
littlejd962025-12-30 22:04
At least the fights are good. What most anime-onlys care about the most
new_interest_here2025-12-30 22:10
It's really not that bad. Sure I don't like it as much as the earlier parts of the story, but it's still fun. I'm certainly hyped for it and I know what happens
nahobino_aogami2025-12-30 21:52
Considering the top has 8%, this list is probably very wide haha I'm anticipating the most for To Your Eternity part 2 (or just rest of the season of you will 😅)
kingEdward222025-12-30 21:53
I am really glad medalist S2 was able to make the list
This shaping up to be one of the best sports animes ever made , also hikaru is one of the best written antagonists of all times , can't wait
UMP45isnotflat2025-12-30 23:27
I had this on my list since S1 aired, I definitely need to catch up in time for S2!
(I also said the same about the previous "best sports anime ever made" - the lesbian underground golf one but alas..)
Shantotto112025-12-31 02:31
Birdie Wing?
T1tanT3m2025-12-31 00:07
Not to mention the manga is utterly beautiful, some of the panels are otherworldly in terms of how ethereal and breathtaking some of the drawn sequences are
pober2025-12-31 08:15
The manga makes me cry because of how beautiful the art is.
melindypants2025-12-31 11:04
I was pleasantly surprised because with how ENGI fucked up Unnamed Memory, I wasn't sure how it would be. Sports anime are some of my favorite and they really did an excellent job on it - I even picked up the manga after
FrierenKingSimp2025-12-30 21:53
Both my most anticipated ones are in the top three, I’m happy
I’m gonna be honest, the news about the Frieren episode count really deflated my hype for this season
ClemFire2025-12-30 21:53
I am so ready to see pouting Fern again
Extension-Video-11592025-12-30 22:35
And I'm ready to see "-w-" frieren again
Quichdelvyn52025-12-30 21:53
It's hard to believe Strange/Fake is finally coming.
TheMechanic042025-12-30 22:23
So it's the full season?
runescapeanime2025-12-30 22:34
Fate is such a weird convoluted mess to me. It has visual novels, games, anime, manga, a 10 year long gacha with hundreds of characters and updates. It is the one media collective which has been the hardest for me to get into. I know that pretty much everything starts with the original visual novel, but what exactly is the context I need before starting Strange/Fake? I remember watching the Ufotable adaptations back in the day and really enjoying them, but honestly don’t remember all that much about it anymore. I think I also watched the Grand Order pilot episode which felt so rushed. Does it all pretty much boil down to servants fighting each other in a holy war?
Olicsmems2025-12-30 22:41
I feel like the worst mistake for trying to get into the Fate Franchise is trying to follow some sort of timeline or fixed watching order. As long as you know how it works and realizing where each series differs from that original format (Fate Stay Night) then you're fine imo. Just start anywhere after Fate Stay Night. But the last sentence you had is mostly correct.
heartsongaming2025-12-31 08:39
I think it would be jarring to start The Case Files of Lord El Melloi II without knowing what the Fake Holy Grail War is. Even more confusing is watching Babylonia without knowing what the Grand Order is.
UltraYZU2025-12-30 22:44
You don't need any context. As long as you've played the original visual novel Fate Stay Night, or watched Unlimited Blade Works/Heavens Feel then you have more than enough prior knowledge. In fact, you don't even need to know anything about Fate to understand Strange Fake. However, it's obviously extremely helpful if you have played/watched the VN or anime adaptation.
This misconception that Fate is a difficult series to get into really annoys me. Literally all you need is to watch UBW then Heavens Feel. And if you want the whole experience, as well as the route which didn't get an adaptation (Studio Deen's adaptation doesn't count) then you play the Visual Novel - many anime-onlies don't know the Fate route, Saber's route, which is absolutely incredible and it's a tragedy Ufotable didn't adapt it.
Trust me, all the extra stuff is just expanding the original three routes. That's it.
DrZeroH2025-12-30 22:58
Bruh not to ruin your flow but you literally write
\> In fact, you don't even need to know anything about Fate to understand Strange Fake.
and
\> However, it's obviously extremely helpful if you have played/watched the VN or anime adaptation.
right next to each other. While I get what you are trying to say and it makes sense, I just find it kinda funny in an unintentionally oxymoronic way.
UltraYZU2025-12-30 23:16
I'm just tryna emphasize how little context you need to enjoy Strange Fake. It's completely fine to watch it without having seen the originals, but it's also very helpful to be familiar with Fate's before you start.
But, I can see how juxtaposed those statements are, you're right. Quite confusing but hope the sentiment was conveyed despite that lol.
DrZeroH2025-12-30 23:18
Yeah im just messing around. Its like seeing Jumbo Shrimp. If you take a moment you can understand it works but its still funny.
stang902025-12-31 02:43
"I'm trying to emphasize how little context you need to enjoy Strange Fake" by *immediately* emphasizing that prior context is helpful.
UMP45isnotflat2025-12-30 23:24
It makes sense for me though, recognising references, reoccuring themes, characters and just Fates general universe is one side, but simply enjoying it without missing anything massive is the other.
UMP45isnotflat2025-12-30 23:25
Whenever they manage to port VNs to android the first thing I will do is play the VN. I just cant be asked to sit in front of my PC to read a VN though..
Should probably get a windows handheld for this..
Sirion82025-12-31 02:42
Might as well watch a playthrough on [YouTube](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL9d1DWgE9WNYUm-DQi2q2g-nVuqKiM2Wf&si=xqZLzvzqpa3TiMsR) if you're not gonna read it on PC
bamkhun-tog2025-12-31 03:00
You can play it on android though
UMP45isnotflat2025-12-30 23:21
Not the biggest fate fanatic but from what I understand there is basically the main/original story from the VN (eroge even) with its anime adaptions (Stay Night, Zero, UBW, Heavens Feel), spinoffs like Apocryphia (the Astolfo one) and Fake, spinoffs like Grand Order but that grew into its own massive franchise thx to the gacha and of course the top of it all: Prisma Illya.
Im in the same boat about Fate overall though, whenever I watch it I have the time of my life but as soon as its over I forget it even exists. You know how good shows stick with you for a long time? Fate should tick that box, but its like it gets actively purged from my mind.
Le_Meme_Man122025-12-31 05:58
Zero isn't part of the original VN. Zero was written by Urobuchi in 2006 as a Light Novel.
ScorpionStingray2025-12-31 00:22
There is only one show that all newcomers to Fate should start with and that is Unlimited Blade Works. That's the show that will introduce you properly to the whole worldbuilding of the entire Fate franchise. You can watch literally anything else in the franchise after UBW in any order you want (though I would personally recommend saving Fate/Zero for after Heaven's Feel).
If you end up liking UBW, you'll find it easier to get into the rest of the series.
-_Seth_-2025-12-31 01:01
You're generally fine if you have watched the Ufotable adaptions of UBW and HF. Fate Zero and Case Files of El Melloi would give additional context for some Strange/Fake characters but are absolutely not necessary.
DragoSphere2025-12-31 03:07
Does Star Wars confuse you? Because Fate is roughly on the same level of media complexity when it comes to having dozens of spin-offs, novels, and games about it
DemonSlyr0072025-12-31 03:16
Every single fate is essentially a stand alone story. Very few actually connect through, they just use the same characters to tell different versions of the same story. And some of them dont even do that, those ones judy revolve around "servants fight in holy grail war."
Its best not to try and look at Fate like you would other anime where you have to "remember what is going on and who's who." When you sit down to watch one, thats it, the story is always self contained within that Fate. The only exception, to my knowledge anime wise, is Fate/Zero which is a Prequel story and sets up the branching Fate stories.
My favorite Fate will most likely get me downvoted here lol, but its Fate/Apocrypha. Entirely self contained, alternate universe Fate that doubles the servants involved. Double the servants = double of my main reason i love watching fate: the heroic spirits.
Stabaobs2025-12-31 03:15
Is FSF going to get an episode 1 thread when it airs, since it's technically a rerun?
Foxontherox8882025-12-30 21:56
I stand proudly with you my 3.07% brethren o7
zairaner2025-12-30 21:57
>Polar opposites being the only new show making it to the the top 10
Yep that is a W I'll gladly take, even if I do care more about the new shows this season.
Really surprised at least sentenced to be a hero didn't make it to this list
Edit: Well, it missed the list by 0.09% so that is that.
Making a top 10 of just the new shows to balance out the sequel bias of this poll:
1. **Polar opposites** (2.89%)
2. **Sentenced to be a hero** (2.75%)
3. **Tune in to the midnight heart** (2.59%)
4. **In the Clear Moonlit Dusk** (1.96%)
5. **You Can’t Be In a Rom-Com with Your Childhood Friends!** (1.78%)
6. **Tamon’s B-Side** (1.69%)
7. **Does It Count If You Lose Your Virginity to an Android?** (1.62%)
8. **Wash It All Away** (1.56%)
9. **There was a Cute Girl in the Hero’s Party, so I Tried Confessing to Her** (1.49%)
10. **SHIBOYUGI: Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table** (1.44%)
Pretty great ranking, all things considered. Most surprising is probably the two shoujos actually making it to 4th and 6th!
Most obvious omission is of course **Roll over and Die**, the yuri (that isn't the basically hentai that did make it to 7th) that's actually all the way down to 38th total ranking.
Ashteron2025-12-30 22:13
>Polar opposites being the only new show making it to the the top 10
FSF is technically not a new show, but with only a 50 minute prologue episode it's not in the same situation as sequels with full seasons either.
zairaner2025-12-30 22:17
Even without the existence of the prologue, I don't think any first episode of a new fate series could ever be counted as a new show, especially in questions concerning pre-established fanbases.
Ashteron2025-12-30 22:27
The only way of excluding pre-established fanbases is sticking to originals only.
zairaner2025-12-30 22:58
I do wish we had enough oiriginals to make a list for them.
But no, exclusively excluding pre-established fanbases of animated content is completely consistent.
n080dy1232025-12-30 22:36
I'd argue Fate/Strange Fake should be listed there, and it'd be the top of that list, but its also *kinda* not on two fronts, being both the full series after 2 episodes of an hour runtime and also part of a franchise even if it's yet another alternate timeline with 99% no re-appearing characters. Weird case.
Magnafeana2025-12-30 23:14
I’m so happy some of my most hype would be in the non-sequel top 10 most anticipated! I’m so ready for Gloomyhara.
I’m surprised <Roll over and die> would be that low. I thought it was semi-popular, but maybe not.
tripleaamin2025-12-30 23:50
Saori Hayami as Uta is awesome because I feel like she has been typecast since voicing Yor for SxF. I am interested in her as Uta.
Not to mention all the male seiyuus. Manga is a blast and is a lot better than I expected.
tripleaamin2025-12-30 23:53
Judging the new shows here.
1. As I mentioned in another of my commenst, as a fan of the manga, you can't ask for a better adaptation outside of KyoAni. Which was not happening. Also leaked to be a full adaptation in split cours.
2. This one gonna be called the gem of the season even though the sakuga fans have been hyping it up for a good while lol. I hope the authors other series Scum of the Brave gets some traction.
3. The manga is great, but I won't be checking it out purely because Gekkou is animating it.
4. I read a bit of the manga, and the studio doesn't inspire me, I assume more focus will be "Kaya-chan isn't Scary" given the Dark Gathering director is working on that one. Plus manga didn't do much to pull me in.
5. Tezuka harem. Personally I got no interest.
6. My god this anime looks great, and I've been reading the manga. If the voice direction is on point, this anime will be beyond hilarious. Please check it out even if you don't watch series with Male idols.
7. Anyone who is watching or not knows they are at this point.
8. This is a comfy manga and the anime should provide the same. I probably won't be watching.
9. I heard this one is decent, but again Gekkou so skip.
10. I read the first volume of the Ln. Honestly, if adapted well, I think this could be a sleeper pick for AOTS.
IXajll2025-12-31 00:49
Agreed on most points, but
> This one gonna be called the gem of the season even though the sakuga fans have been hyping it up for a good while lol.
I don't really see the issue here? I'm one of the folks hyping it up since I watched the 1st ep back in August and I'm still gonna call it a gem lol and I have no problem whatsoever with more casual fans who didn't have this on their radar doing the same.
> I won't be checking it out purely because Gekkou is animating it.
Gekkou is not really a "good" studio, sure, but it's not even close to be bad enough to just dismiss all of their future works on principle. With that superficial attitude you shouldn't have checked out Medalist either given ENGI's terrible track record prior to that.
BaytaCosmico2025-12-31 04:05
Unsurprising I guess that Ikoku Nikki didn't make this list either, but it's my most anticipated show. Though not a source reader, I have high hopes for it.
zairaner2025-12-31 10:31
Definitely not unsurprising but yeah that might actually be the biggest omission now that you say it.
cppn022025-12-31 12:11
>Unsurprising I guess that Ikoku Nikki didn't make this list either
Once again proof that anime corner is just shit.
StegosaurusGrape2026-01-01 16:43
I love Ikoku Nikki, but I think there being no release of an official English translation makes it practically unknown in the US, at least.
ceribaen2025-12-31 15:41
Out of these, are any anime original?
Usually find at least one of the seasons hidden gems are simply an anime original that didn't have a preexisting hype machine around it.
Vendun_2025-12-30 22:03
Didn't expected to see Chaînes Soldier so high.
OverFjell2025-12-31 02:08
A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. Haven't watched season 1 myself but I enjoyed the manga
THEPIGWHODIDIT2025-12-30 22:06
Frieren S2 undoubtedly would take 1st spot. Excitement at max.
BilleyBong2025-12-30 22:06
Was deciding which anime to start before the new seasons come out. Which should I choose? Frieren, jjk, or hells Paradise?
UMP45isnotflat2025-12-30 23:40
Frieren, its the best mix of exciting but also chill and comfy to start the new year
NoAdhesiveness43002025-12-30 22:06
Frieren fans will be disappointed when they get only 10 episodes
AceSoldia2025-12-30 22:49
Is it only ten?!
zairaner2025-12-30 23:07
Same for OnK it seems.
AceSoldia2025-12-30 23:13
Wow had no idea...
tripleaamin2025-12-31 00:31
and Medalist too.
Though for both Frieren & Medalist, it makes sense for them to have a smaller episode count. Both I would bet on announcing an S3 after the season ends.
avboden2025-12-31 02:37
Medalist setting up for the Winter Olympics hype
Blue_Reaper992025-12-31 05:50
Onk have 11 eps I believe.
Zero30202025-12-30 23:29
I'll be happy as long as the quality is there.
UMP45isnotflat2025-12-30 23:36
After the manga came back from Hiatus, delivered us a super cliffhanger arc and then immediately went on hiatus again.. I would say we are used to it by now.
MeatballZeitgeist2025-12-30 23:49
That's like three manga hiatuses worth, gotta pace themselves.
Ebo872025-12-31 00:42
Yes, it was that or start a major arc that would have made this 2 consecutive cours again and apparently there was no chance Madhouse were able to deliver that in the production schedule they had. Unfortunate but it's ultimately for the better.
We get 10 top quality episodes that should live up to the standards set by season 1 and the show leaves us wanting more by the end, teasing a little bit what comes next (which you shouldn't expect to see until probably either Fall 2027 or Winter 2028, sorry, but trust that it will be extremely worth it... that 11 episode 3rd season).
Regula962025-12-31 02:02
I swear you just ruined my entire spring noooooooo...
Falsus2025-12-31 04:44
Makes sense to me. Sure it might be less Frieren content *now* but if they did another 28 episode anime it would pretty animate everything up until the current arc that is in a hiatus, which effectively means no Frieren anime for like 3-4 years.
But now we will get 10 episodes, 12 episodes and probably a movie spaced out over that time instead.
lupoin52025-12-31 10:41
Only 10??? Disappointed. Somehow, I was expecting another 24 episodes.
Vanitas-Gemini2025-12-30 22:07
Pretty nice lineup compared to last season
DizzyMotion2025-12-30 22:07
No one in the thread’s mentioned it yet, but I’m most excited for Oshi No Ko. Glad to see it at #3.
UMP45isnotflat2025-12-30 23:32
I reckon it will pick up a ton of interest when its actually out. The adaption has been peak so far. I just know the manga fans were disappointed by the end, so I guess that negative sentiment carried over.
Shantotto112025-12-31 02:32
*howls with laughter in Jujutsu Kaisen’s ending*
alpacamegafan2025-12-31 03:54
Who cares. Every manga reader for AoT and MHA were shitting themselves with the buildup to the anime finales, and both were received fine to well. It's a different era now.
TheBusStop122026-01-01 07:18
With Kaguya-sama getting a new anime only ending movie written by Aka himself there may still be some hope that he'll pull something similar for Oshi no Ko as well. Or that they'll flesh out everything leading up to the end more so it's no longer as rushed and makes more sense
LargeFailSon2025-12-30 22:08
Is it confirmed that Frieren is only episodes? Is it 2 parts or are they literally just out of manga to adapt? I am only up to the mage exams in the manga.
Honestly a catch up season for me. Only really super interesting for Strange fake of all this, though I need to watch S1 of many of these
Kemaiku2025-12-30 22:29
I assume since some of the cast have health issues etc it's going to be 2 cours of maybe 10 each.
AustinHoffer2025-12-30 22:09
they got a MHA spinoff now?
UMP45isnotflat2025-12-30 23:40
Vigilantes s1 already exists, this is the sequel for that
Vikkio922025-12-30 22:12
Frieren’s upcoming arc is so damn good I can’t wait to see it animated!
Griffith_Skywalker2025-12-30 23:59
Might not get it this season sadly...
new_interest_here2025-12-30 22:12
I really hope Fire Force sticks its landing. I hear that the last stretch of the story is the best part, and I want this to be the first multiple season anime I experience the ending of as it comes out, but I also don't want it to be an utterly rushed mess where they cram too much content into a single cour. I will read the manga if I have to for the sake of a better experience
TheOssified2025-12-30 22:16
Bro this season is stacked
KrazyBean942025-12-30 22:18
VERY excited for Medalist Season 2. I loved loved loved the first season.
notabear872025-12-30 22:18
Damn that’s stacked
kingEdward222025-12-30 22:20
Man i can't wait for fire force , this show is peak
These_Age85392025-12-30 22:30
Is oshi no ko hentai
UMP45isnotflat2025-12-30 23:38
No, but a good chunk of the fanart is
dimyo2025-12-30 22:30
Polar opposites is getting more attention than I expected.
Looks nice.
garfe2025-12-30 22:33
Mato Seihei being at 5 is interesting because the first season got basically no traction at all after the first episodes so I'm assuming this is going on word of mouth of this potentially being better.

HipsDontKawaiii2025-12-30 22:42
This lineup is kinda stacked. Not surprised that Frieren S2 is number 1. Low key happy to see Medalist on the list too, soooo underrated.
notreal0882025-12-30 22:42
The first 7 are literally all I need for this season. Everything else is just a plus.
NiceVibeShirt2025-12-30 22:44
Nice that there's more JJK to be told to go watch when I say I don't like someone's favorite anime.
AceSoldia2025-12-30 22:48
Skipping jjk but most of the rest I'm hyped for
hawkeye1371372025-12-30 22:48
Even though Frieren is one of my favourite anime of all time, I am most hyped (and a tiny bit emotional) for Fire Force finale this season.
AceSoldia2025-12-30 22:50
Super excited for chained soldier. Loved the first season.
Quantumdelirium2025-12-30 23:05
I think I'm one of the only people that is most excited for Princess Principal Crown Handler chapter 4. It's one of the best shows that's come out in years but because it's an original anime it didn't get the attention it deserves. It's great to see Fate actually coming out, but I wish we would get much more new shows that are very creative, different and unique. We're seeing less and less shows like that come out.
Chains-Of-Heaven2025-12-30 23:07
have dates?
Clean-Cupcakes2025-12-30 23:10
Medalist is at least eight spots lower than it should be.
abandoned_idol2025-12-31 00:28
I'm just happy to see it rendered in this top 10 list. I love Medalist.
marsli58182025-12-30 23:17
No reincarnated as a sword 2nd season this winter?
KingMagni2025-12-30 23:34
9 out of 10 are sequels... I would be much more interested in a top 10 of most anticipated new animes
Sniipii__2025-12-30 23:37
Reincarnated as a slime?
Xx420EdgeLord69xX2025-12-30 23:38
I'm only planning on watching 2 of those.
AlbertoGordo2025-12-30 23:39
TIME TO SUBMIT
Difficult_Weekend6042025-12-31 00:26
Lets go the 3 that I’m hoping for most are at the top
inika412025-12-31 00:54
Of course Frieren is number 1. She was part of the party that cleared the most dungeons in history AND slew the Demon King.
Time_Fracture2025-12-31 01:56
Polar Opposites being as the only new anime in top 10 is something.
Shad0wX72025-12-31 03:12
Hella stacked season. I'll be watching the top 8 on this list, and at least 2 more that weren't - Trigun Stargaze and MF Ghost S3.
littlewillie6102025-12-31 03:46
To be honest, finding out that Frieren will probably only be 10 episodes and end right before a certain arc has tempered my excitement for it. JJK is what I'm most looking forward to at the moment, and I don't plan on watching Oshi no Ko season 3.
Phoenix__Wwrong2025-12-31 05:06
Only 2 non sequel?
papakahn942025-12-31 05:15
Polar opposites isnt high enough >:(
sagar91752025-12-31 08:27
quiet excited for Fate/Strange Fake
Pacify_2025-12-31 10:42
Fate/Strange Fake being written by the baccano/drrr guy definitely threw it onto the top of the list after Frieren
BellyDancerUrgot2025-12-31 16:36
Expected mushoku tensei to be on the list too surprised it isn’t

Edit: forgot to mention, Hell's paradise has better animation story and character development, but I didn't watch the other 2.
Once they get going they tend to diverge quite significantly
Since when have we moved from story quality to story format?
>However even if that's the case why would people put their money on fate when hells paradise has built up that reputation and momentum?
I'm pretty sure Fate has better reputation.
Edit: ...not sure how I forgot Gilgamesh. Also Enkidu, who's recognizable from Babylonia even if the FGO one wasn't *actually* Enkidu.
Uhh, Gilgamesh?
I stopped watching because it was so bad. I heard the Blu-ray were better.
Also the character artwork seems on point with the manga too. And a lot of fan-favorite characters (Yamashiro Ren with VA Kana Hanazawa) are coming
S2 has arguably the two best arcs in the whole series so I doubt that.
Zenin clan Massacre
Sendai colony
Hakari vs kazhimo
Fights are better when animated so Culling games will surpass Shibuya as anime adaptation easily.
This shaping up to be one of the best sports animes ever made , also hikaru is one of the best written antagonists of all times , can't wait
(I also said the same about the previous "best sports anime ever made" - the lesbian underground golf one but alas..)
I’m gonna be honest, the news about the Frieren episode count really deflated my hype for this season
That's it.
But, I can see how juxtaposed those statements are, you're right. Quite confusing but hope the sentiment was conveyed despite that lol.
Should probably get a windows handheld for this..
Im in the same boat about Fate overall though, whenever I watch it I have the time of my life but as soon as its over I forget it even exists. You know how good shows stick with you for a long time? Fate should tick that box, but its like it gets actively purged from my mind.
If you end up liking UBW, you'll find it easier to get into the rest of the series.
FSF is technically not a new show, but with only a 50 minute prologue episode it's not in the same situation as sequels with full seasons either.
But no, exclusively excluding pre-established fanbases of animated content is completely consistent.
I’m surprised <Roll over and die> would be that low. I thought it was semi-popular, but maybe not.
Not to mention all the male seiyuus. Manga is a blast and is a lot better than I expected.
Once again proof that anime corner is just shit.
Usually find at least one of the seasons hidden gems are simply an anime original that didn't have a preexisting hype machine around it.
Though for both Frieren & Medalist, it makes sense for them to have a smaller episode count. Both I would bet on announcing an S3 after the season ends.
But now we will get 10 episodes, 12 episodes and probably a movie spaced out over that time instead.
Honestly a catch up season for me. Only really super interesting for Strange fake of all this, though I need to watch S1 of many of these
Looks nice.
