**Manga Comparisons:**

* This consists of ch117 (v12.167-181), ch118 (v12.183-199), and part of ch119 (v13.7-14).
* After ch117, v12.182 has another Special Thanks illustration of Tyki and Jasdevi wearing suits.
* The cover page of 118 has a cool illustration not in the anime, featuring Baphoment/pentacle/inverted cross as the counterpart to an angelic statue.
* V12 ends with 118; after that there's another 4page omake about Editor Y leaving. The omake starts to (correctly) refer to Hoshino as female, in contrast to previous volumes. After the omake, the JPN volume has 6 pages of fanart not in the ENG volume.
* Additions to the anime: expands the conversation between "Bookman" and Lavi, adds Road reacting, adds more Lenalee kicking and Chaozii punching the walls, Lero's reaction,
Allen saying Tyki has something he wants to protect is an addition, as is everything with Momo/Klack/Eeez, and flashbacks to Tyki killing exorcists. The flashbacks with Road asking about the buttons, saying he's too close to humans, and making sure he'll return are also an addition.

* Flashback to Miranda arc is anime-only. The manga version of the illusion zombies depicts two characters from the Lavi-centric light novel story.

* Like usual, fansubs don't use Road's "Tycky" nickname for Tyki
* "You should get out of here" (Shinsen) vs. "You should leave" (Funi) vs. "You should give up" (dub)
* "failed to turn into an Akuma" vs. "couldn't change into a demon" (dub). Interestingly, the manga line here uses the kanji for "demon" rather than katakana for "Akuma"

Man! I tried to watch this when I was younger I couldn't get there it before. Now I'm going to try it again and see if I can get through it.

Alright so Tyki is done. He's similar to Allen in the sense that he has 2 sides to him that feel contradictory, his human side which shows his genuine care for his friends, and his Noah side which is more ruthless but also with a sense of elegance. At the end Allen is able to use his sword to literally exorcise the Noah out of Tyki which at the end he chooses to accept which feels like his human side won out.


Road isn't happy about this development though since now shes more Allen than before, so she does the old "eye for an eye" by threatening Lavi while also treating Chaozii and Lenalee at the same time. So now Lavi has to deal with dream illusions on top of his existential crisis about his role as Bookman.

So a lot happens here but you kind of have to take the show at face value. So killing the Noah didn't seem to destroy Tyki's personality but there are questions. Allen falls into the traditional shonen protag failings so we get Lavi's bit.

We are back with Allen's new BGM sword, Lavi seeing his past in Road land and Lenalee trying to kick her way out of the box and Not Light Yagami in there with her.

Lavi holds the dorpse of Lena, while Sexy Lavi continues to dogpile on him Road style. It be easier Panda for Lavi to be a bystander if you know, you weren't taking asides in conflicts, observing from afar or making your own group large enough not to have to side with either the Order or the Noah.

Meanwhile, Lenallee is visualing her brother, Bak, the Earl and more in kicking the box, taking her frustrations out on her Brother's sisons, Bak being a stalker, the Earl being a fat price and the author/anime team for keeping her in the current state she is for this long.

Sorry Chaozii, you are still not god, a Gundam, a vampire or anything else you have been in other lives.

\[DGM\]>!Soon now, you will be Allen's unknown new rival in the Order!<).

Says the Umbrella that is being sat on right this moment baka!

Fair Tykki? It was hardly fair you took out Allen last time, right as he was in the state, tired and lacking his arm? Or fair you had powers that others didn't all the time you killed your victims?

This is a fun episode of weird human tricks, Tykki really has a knack for coming up with great names for people and events.

Allen the one armed swordsman scares even Road shitless for once.

As she visualise the Earl with a similar sword and the same pose as Allen-kun.

Leanlee feeling something fro Allen? Part of the heart maybe? Their eternal connection? Love?

As we flashback to miner worker Tykki, been a while since we saw anything to do with his miner persona and his mates there. Wonder how they are doing?

That Excorist with the 2 syrcthe spear like weapon looks pretty cool, wonder if they are one of the people from Klaud's unit? Gwen Flail or Sol Galen perhaps? Which I have always fanoned were victims of Jashdevi. Due to the way the anime shows them returning from something and the blood spilling in the next scene. And to spread out the victim count Tykki already has of named Excorist killings.

But next scene shows that it's likely before series timeline if he's in miner form and with his mates.

And another flashback with Road, of him killing another unknown Excorist, my guess this is just before they went to ambush Yeegar.

Yes, you have more fondess for buttons Tykki than anyone else I have ever met? You trying to button everyone else up?

Guess this is pre-series too, with him going back to the miners again.

Dark Tykki is activated again. but Allen manages to slice through him, that shocks even Lenalee herself. Who knows Allen's hesitation in fighting any Noah or humans for that matter.

That somehow destroy's Tykk's noah, or so he claims. It's a bold move, lets see if it works!

Crown Clown he is indeed Road. And he's going to save you and everyone else if he can.

But this moves Road into moving even against her love, but Tykki stops her.

The duality of Light.Dark Tykki, at odds with each other, but fulfilling the boredom that Tykki fears. Tykki's been with Road as noted before, the best antagonist we've had of the series thus far, he's complex, got a lot of likeable qualities like caring for his minder mates, loving Road, witty, funny and very affable. But also is viious, sadistic, clearly enjoys killing, and willing to wipe humanity out.

The only way he would/should get a quiet life, is after repenting of his sins, whether that's years in prison, dying or turning sides is anyone's guess.

REPENT TYKKI! IN THE NAME OF CROWN CLOWN ALLEN!

Sorry Eze, no more gifts for you mate.

Now you have done it Allen, you have pissed Road off and taken family away from her!

That she sends candles right into Chaozii. and surrounds them all with her candles.

One false move and Not Light Yagami dies, Lena's crystal probably protects her again, and Allen will devastated again.

Flashback to Sanae's best scream of the series, when Road plucked Allen's akuma eye out right after hugging him.

Road with tongue out is one creepy site.

OMG! It's a zombie invasion in Lavi's mind and everyone is after our one eyed patch mate.

Oh Panda, ink does talk to writers, especially creative writers when they have writer's block, put ink to paper and more.

But Lenalee prefers the sword to the pen.

As Lavi becomes 10x more attractive with his green headband gone.

And all the ink around LAvi is starting to gang him on him even harder than the House of the Dead zombies.

And we end with Lavi about to cut the inks down.

Bonus Threater today is Allen being late to session and being chased by clock, Allen the Clock he is not here.

Great episode, saw a lot of development, good bits with Lena/Chaozii. Tykki himself continues to be fantastic with all his duality and Allen just became even more threatening.

While Road brings out the creepy mind raper that she showed in Miranda's arc and with Yeegar a fair while back that made her my favourite of the series villains.

Next episode will be just as interesting.

**Re.Manga-man**

Allen knows how to get his revenge stone cold. Tyki destroyed his innocence and left him to dry, so Allen came back with an ability designed to destroy the Noah while leaving the human.

He may call it saving or whatever (which is the same thing Tyki called the destruction of the innocence), but here's the real intent of the ability, to dish back what he took in style.

[Manga] >!and much like Tyki destroying Allen's innocence, it just lets Tyki awaken his abilities. Actually... I don't think Allen's ever used it successfully on anyone?!<

On the other end, Lavi is currently breaking broken in by Road ~~and I'm sure someone here would call that a reward.~~ On the bright side, I guess Allen and Road can have some quality time now?

For what it's worth, Lavi's arc is very interesting, since he's fundamentally supposed to not have any personal attachment to any of this (or any "persona" for that matter), he's played similar roles many times just to fill in his records, but he can't discard those guys. I'd say its only issue is the fact we don't actually know what being a Bookman means to him. We just know that he wants to do it, but not his motivation, reasoning, or anything of the sword. So we're supposed to be watching a balance tip, but one of its scales is covered.

They both picked it up from the same dollar store? Idk, unique sword designs are hard.

My favourite from this series. Shame to see him end like this, but the irony of his ability being turned on him is delicious.

He's been treating human life as a side hussle. Something you can go into when you want. It'll be fun seeing him pick up that shovel and try it as the only life he's got left.

###First Timers Yearn for the Mines

The timing isn't great but the new Allen power is quite interesting. Turning his arm into a sword and only cutting the Noah part of his enemies. Curious to see where this leads to.

As far as mind breaking genjutsu goes the one used on Lavi is pretty lame.
