this is a genuine question

how is panty and stocking with garterbelt, one of the most vulgar, profane and sexually charged anime series ever.... also one of the least sexist anime series I have ever seen?

panty has more agency than any other female character i have seen in an anime series

because being vulgar, profane and sexually charged != being sexist ?

I'm trying to hint at that for some reason the female characters in less vulgar series get side-lined or used as fanservice for no reason

It would be pretty hard to sideline P&S considering they are the main characters that the anime is literally named after. I think you're just discovering the "female protagonist" tag.

Because they are side characters? If an anime has females as MC like Apothecary diaries, Yona of the Dawn, etc... Don't do that unless the anime has a tag that is ecchi.

Not to mention Side characters tend to get sidelined a lot, it doesn't matter whether they are boys or girls.

Just discovering female main characters or something?

With so many "I can't believe it's not hentai" anime lately like interspecies reviewers or redo of healer or that turned into a dog anime... I can agree that Panty & Stocking manages to do it more.. gracefully somehow but I wouldn't call it the most vulgar anymore.
