Hi loaferpaws, it seems like you might be looking for new anime to watch!

The users of this subreddit came up with [a chart of anime recommendations for newcomers and veterans](https://i.redd.it/0w1v880jtq661.png) and [an awesome longer flowchart](https://i.redd.it/vdzlkodz19c71.png). Maybe you can find something there that you'll like \^.\^

Watch konosuba

Artsy7272025-12-31 01:59

Not for everybody but its a comedy for further content to OP

MarzipanFragrant542025-12-31 01:55

Watch the classics Death note, One punch man, Kuroko no basket, Fire Force.

Special one: Konosuba

Artsy7272025-12-31 01:59

Death Note is top 3 beginner anime, would reccommend.

loaferpaws2025-12-31 04:23

i’ve seen death note already. my 16th birthday was a huge death note cake lol! 😆 but i haven’t seen the rest. i honestly don’t care enough to watch “classics” in an order i just watch what im in the mood for and dont have patience for shows with a lot of seasons lol.

Artsy7272025-12-31 02:00

All amazing anime! What platforms do you watch on and I can give my personal reccommendations?

loaferpaws2025-12-31 04:25

you can just give recs and i can find the shows/movie for free!

Artsy7272025-12-31 04:33

I know what you mean by that 🤣

I have some recommendations but I wont explain the anime for some of them because I think its best you go in knowing nothing.

\- Spirited Away: Make sure you're locked in and not doing anything else at the same time, its a little old but its one of the greatest anime movies of all time. You could probably binge it in a sitting. (Movie)

\- DanDaDan: From what you've watched, this anime seems like a pretty good fit. Watch 3-5 episodes and see if you like it, if you don't feel free to drop it, not for everybody. (2 Seasons, Unfinished)

\- Charlotte: A super funny but interesting anime where a very small percent of kids have a useless (sometimes) superpower until the end of adolescence, and it dives so much deeper than this ground level information, give it a watch its only 13 episodes and finished. (1 Season, Finished)

I can get more recommendations if you want, but these ones are just great anime!

loaferpaws2025-12-31 04:36

thank u so much and definitely feel free to give more recs if you’d like! i’ll never say no to more recs👀

Artsy7272025-12-31 05:19

Could I add you so you could tell me when you start/finish them? Im curious to know!

loaferpaws2025-12-31 05:38

Vxris_2025-12-31 02:14

if you like action and romance you could try fate/stay night

Good comedy? "Dungeon Meshi". After you watch that gateway anime, follow it up with the very similar "Frieren" (note, Frieren has a slow/dull 4 episode prologue and half the fans are snobs, you should still watch Frieren, it's super conventional with very wide appeal). "Medalist" has great comic relief as well. All 3 have very serious plots though.

I'm going to assume that you got bored by Kakegurui. If not, let me know what elements you liked about it (for tangent recommendations).

If you're after a "Promised Neverland" clone, "Shadow House" has significant overlap and happens to have great characters (slow to hook the audience though).

If you want more Chainsawman (gratuitous amounts of gore and charismatic/crazy characters), hate magic users, and are a fan of mushrooms, you can watch "Dorohedoro".

That user that mentioned "Dandadan" knows what they are talking about, great choice. It has amazing pacing.

loaferpaws2025-12-31 04:37

i was NOT bored by kake LOL! that is literally one of my favorite animes! i love the poker, and how crazy the characters are 😆. i even watched the live versions of the anime lol.

thank u so much for these recs i will definitely check them out!

abandoned_idol2025-12-31 04:44

Crazy... Characters...

You simply have to watch "Tojima Wants to be Kamen Rider". They really nail the appeal of crazy characters (but it's more silly rather than edgy). At some point, it's so silly that it loops back to being "cool".

And if you happen to really like meta-mind-games, or a battle of wits and circular thinking with high stakes (and dirty/smart cons), you can try stomaching the horrid character designs in "Kaiji". Kaiji is basically a better "Kakegurui"/"Squid Game" (fun fact, Squid Game ripped of Kaiji and one other manga, didn't give them credit, and only later claimed to be "inspired" by them when confronted). There's no denying that the art style of Kaiji is revolting though, and it's a sausagefest (no women, no boobs, just ugly old men).

Your Lie in April is possibly one of the saddest romance anime ever, even listening to the op makes me cry from the memory of the show. It's beautiful, and tells a story that really resonated with me since I'm a musician. It's got a few big flaws, but it's still one of my faves oat. The first episode is a bit cringe, but the rest of the show is possibly the most moving romance anime ever.

loaferpaws2025-12-31 04:22

i’ve seen your lie in april already, it’s so good thank u for suggesting it lol!
