Anime not available on streaming services?

So I've started to buy, and want to collect physical anime that you can't find/watch through any streaming services.. So far I've gotten Blood+, Baccano, Berserk(1997) and am about to get Shiki. So I'm looking for suggestions for any good anime that are unavailable through streaming. I like all different genres except for shoujo romance/love story type anime.

Hi Ill_Reference582, it seems like you might be looking for new anime to watch!

The users of this subreddit came up with [a chart of anime recommendations for newcomers and veterans](https://i.redd.it/0w1v880jtq661.png) and [an awesome longer flowchart](https://i.redd.it/vdzlkodz19c71.png). Maybe you can find something there that you'll like \^.\^

Literally #9 on my Top Ten list.

Fullmetal alchemist 2003 (not brotherhood)

DataUserOne2025-12-31 22:07

I second this. I literally could not find the original Fullmetal in any streaming anywhere the other day

I loved FMA Brotherhood. How different are they though?

AlphaCat772026-01-03 03:47

2003 came out as the manga was releasing so part way through the story completely diverged. Even before that there are some pretty big changes to the plot. And it adapts a couple of the early chapters that brotherhood left out.

[Revue Starlight](https://myanimelist.net/anime/35503/Shoujo☆Kageki_Revue_Starlight) is a masterpiece, but Sentai Filmworks let the license expire last year. They still have the sequel movie available for streaming on HiDive, but not the TV series. You can still buy the blu-rays for the TV series and the sequel movie [on the Sentai Filmworks store](https://www.sentaifilmworks.com/search?q=revue+starlight) though.

Technically the TV series is streaming on Hoopla but that's a matter of if your library subscribes and how much access they give.

I don't think the original Eureka 7 is streaming anywhere anymore.

Looks like Slayers and its various sequels aren't available on streaming. I recommend the first three seasons: Slayers, Slayers Next, Slayers Try. Revolution and Evolution-R aren't as good.

Another one is .hack//SIGN, mysterious MMO themed sci-fi show.

[is this it?](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0112166/?ref_=ext_shr)

roryteller2026-01-03 16:23

Yeah, I recommend the first three seasons of that.

Literally most of the animes with a hundred episodes.

Hyper Police from 1997 is out there if you can still find the DVDs, someone did recently posted the series on youtube, no idea how long it will remain up.

Mega Man NT Warrior ( I doubt it will ever be in any streaming service) I personally like this anime but I also like megaman and this is also nostalgic for me and same as the next one...

Medabots is usually hard to find without renting or buying per episode or season, it goes in and out like it happens to Code Geass too. I would get that one too.

I would still collect anime you love even if streaming (at the time) in the future it may get pulled out, is not that uncommon to happen eventually to most titles as licenses expire, etc
