Just look up old Kyoto Animation anime then. That's the studio behind the anime you listed.

Air
I didn't particularly like it, though, but your mileage may vary.
indokid1042025-12-31 07:31
finish the trilogy and watch Air

Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
abandoned_idol2025-12-31 08:05
On that note, I am so excited about the recent Haruhi leak.
Now I can finally reminisce about this anime without biting my lip in futile frustration.
Also worth noting that the Haruhi movie is due to be re-released in Japanese theaters in February (2026).

Go watch
Suzumiya, Angel Beats, Little Busters.

This except you should play little busters

There aren't old anime with those visuals, they're based on 2000's moe.
Just watch early-2000's VN adaptations, basically: [https://myanimelist.net/stacks/35450](https://myanimelist.net/stacks/35450)
I've seen some people calling it "Early Moe" (Though, for that, they would call actual early moe (80's stuff) as "proto-moe"): [https://myanimelist.net/stacks/56678](https://myanimelist.net/stacks/56678)

Higurashi

Not old, but similar style would be Nagi no Asu Kara.

Ef: A Tale of Memories/Melodies

Definitely watch Air.
Also, check out anything else from Key Animation.
I really enjoyed Summer Pockets.

To add to the thigs already recimmended, you may try True Tears and H2O. Or first two parts of Da Capo.
Twigling2025-12-31 12:12
I'd highly recommend ef: A Tale of Memories (https://myanimelist.net/anime/2924/ef__A_Tale_of_Memories) followed by ef: A Tale of Melodies (https://myanimelist.net/anime/4789/ef__A_Tale_of_Melodies). These two seasons are very well adapted by Shaft who use their usual strong visuals to enhance the story even more. Of course, the original Visual Novels expand on the stories a lot more (the two VNs are ef: The First Tale, and ef: The Latter Tale (they're on Steam).
You could also try Air from KyoAni (https://myanimelist.net/anime/101/Air?q=air&cat=anime), Toei also adapted it but as a heavily condensed movie - KyoAni's series unfortunately also condensed the story a fair bit meaning it only had 12 episodes for the main story (it needed twice that) so the story doesn't come across as well as it could have. Nevertheless, it's still worth a watch, just don't expect Clannad or Kanon's levels of storytelling greatness from the anime. (Note: the main series is 12 episodes, then there's a recap episode for one story arc, and then a two part OVA).
