Need anime like Gun X Sword

So I found this anime randomly. I was literally looking at random anime on random anime generator one day when I was bored and came upon this one. I ended up really loving it. It is not just because it is a mecha anime (I usually dislike mechas), but the adventure aspect. The whole journey for his revenge story. And the slight romance subplots (not the main girl). Felt like an old school anime for sure. Whenever I look up anime like this, I always find stuff like cowboy bebop and samurai champloo which I already watched. Do y'all have any other recomendations ? Recommend stuff that might seem out there too.

Hi photonfiree, it seems like you might be looking for new anime to watch!

Oh tysm i didn't remember of the name.

To reward you, I have two titles which feel oldschool :
- Trigun
- Needless

This the one with Vaughn, who loves condiments?

Trigun

Gantz

Hellsing Ultimate

Speed Grapher

Slower paced but I think you’ll enjoy:

Kenichi (First Disciple or something like that)

Steins;Gate - it needs 5 or 6 episodes to cook, then OH BOY is the payoff worth it! I’m not a man who says “OH BOY” almost ever.

Jojo part 3 and part 4. If you get into them, you can try the other parts too.

"Trigun Gantz Hellsing Ultimate Speed Grapher"

My favourite anime.

(It shows up as a single row in comment)

Thx! On my end they weren’t, so I double spaced.

Seems you might like

Bubblegum crisis

Martian succesor Nadesico

Not a revenge story and a mecha, but worth a watch, and it has the best compilation episode in anime as it doesnt simply reuse footage like other anime does. A running them in the show is that the mc likes to watch a super robot show called Geki gengar, in the compilation its reversed and the characters of that show watch Nadesico instead.

"kabaneri of the iron fortress" zombies and trains best combo, trust. I first also didn't know I needed it, but it was great.

One of my favorites

You should try out Astra Lost in Space. It's not mecha, but it doesn't feel old or new either. It's definitely underrated, though if you haven't watched it already, I think you'd love it.

here is one thats more attuned to what you want

Thanks for helping me find something new to watch. I'm always on the lookout for completed anime to binge

This is going to be one out of left field but you should watch Zatch Bell and maybe Air Gear. I'm getting that you're looking for something off the beaten path and that vibe is more important to you than genre.
