Out of pure curiosity, are there any incest anime that are actually good?
I LOOOVE very controversial topics when they are written well. The opportunity for pure drama and character development are insane. I love the dilemmas, the grey morality and the consequences for the actions of the characters.
I don't need to agree with the characters to like their writing, or to think the story is actually good.
One of the biggest, most controversial topics in anime is incest. I watched Yosuga no Sora and i can say that it was amazing. Especially the incest part. Do i condone it? No. Was it very well written with actual consequences and development? Yes. I can make a whole post about Yosuga no Sora. I have watched kiss x sis and it was also pretty good for an ecchi. I couldn't watch oreimo past episode 1. No, oshi no ko is not incest anime.
So tell me, do you have any shows that depict incest as an actual i teresting topic to talk about ratger than just a kink? Or any other highly controversial topic like in Mushoku Tensei?

it's a pretty nuanced show.
the OVA didn’t fulfil the LN fans of Oreimo who were disappointed with the half-heartedness while the anime-only fans got a massive whiplash
For all the attention anime gets as a repository of it, other than as a minor point or subplot, it's the only time I've actually seen it portrayed in the way of a serious romantic drama and the main story/focal point, out of hundreds of series seen. It's usually either for gag comedy or ecchi content or outright hentai/pornographic, or some combination of the two. Or it's a small part of the story.
Even in live action out of (mainly Western, but international in general) thousands of films and series and such, I've only seen it dealt with in a way that's taken seriously and treated with sincerity and not demonizing/othering or making a joke out of the characters like one or two times. Usually in Western art/entertainment it's used only in comedies, as a shock concept in some horrors, or to demonize/villainize those established as antagonists (think like Game of Thrones and how it's usually used to lean into portrayals of either real life or fictional royals as crazy, super vain, brain damaged, etc.)
One of the finest aspects of Koi Kaze though is that it portrays it both realistically and in an open-minded/even-handed manner, never lecturing or moralizing at the audience, never either demonizing or glorifying and romanticizing, but just allowing audience members to think for themselves and form their own views and conclusions. It's like an antidote to preachy and aggressively dumbed down media.
2. The Shiunji Family Children
3. My Stepmom's Daughter Is My Ex (kind of?)
Also Mawaru Penguindrum, same director. It's less of a focus, but certainly an undercurrent of the siblings' relationships. And only becomes much more complicated later on.
Yes, it's silly at times but the serious moments really hit. I think it's one of the most underrated anime, and it's only really known for its first 30 seconds - which was a filter moment.
Kiss x Sis was pretty decent back in the days. Koi Kaze takes itself too seriously and falls flat because of it. But if you like gray colors and misery it could be your cup of tea.
I've also got good memories of No Game No Life.
