The best fight scene I’ve ever seen in anime since JJBA for me.
Ninja_Lazer2025-12-31 18:09
If you told me that Araki and Noda were the same person I would 1000% believe you no questions asked, no sources required.

I decided finally to read the manga this year, and man, my excitement for the final season is so high. Considering we know that the first 6 episodes are done because they prescreened them for the 2 movie showings, I have faith we won't have the production issues that S4 had.
While the first two seasons pacing is a bit too fast and it skips some arcs, it does sell you on the series faster than it does in the manga. But the manga engrosses you in the world-building adventure with all the outstanding characterization you get in the anime. Granted, the great music & voice acting direction at the very least make the anime worth watching even with its issues early on.
But, man, starting in S3, Geno Studio massively improved. With pacing to match the manga in terms of experience. Sadly they didn't get to finish the adaptation, but Brain's Base did an outstanding job picking up where Geno Studio left off.
For anyone who reads manga who has only watched the anime, I urge them to experience the story through the manga after they finish watching the final season. The manga is a true 10/10 masterpiece that utilizes the medium so well. The amount of research that Satoru Noda put into this series is just remarkable. It shocks me this ran weekly.

>The amount of research that Satoru Noda put into this series is just remarkable. It shocks me this ran weekly.
It had breaks for Noda to do research.

Peak incoming. Golden Kamuy is so overlooked.
fieew2025-12-31 23:49
>Golden Kamuy is so overlooked.
That goddamn CGI bear. Ruined the show's reputation./s
But for real everyone needs to get past that bear and watch the show its amazing.
Mr_Zaroc2026-01-01 07:45
Honestly I still partially blame that on the CGI bear and gigguk.
Plus it does take a good 10 episodes to really kick off since its so interwoven.
Bit after that, fucking gold in every genre it touches, but mostly cooking
NewAccountEachYear2026-01-01 14:08
it sure is cooking
Derallerechtere2026-01-01 05:22
Japan gives it recognition and that's obviously what counts
fatcatburrito2025-12-31 17:22
How many episodes?
abbe442025-12-31 17:28
So how good has the adaptation been overall? I've only seen season 1 and the OVAs and half of 2
I know the ordering with all the OVAs were wonky and i had a hard time keeping up with which party had x amount of skins etc
Did they skip anything major?
tripleaamin2025-12-31 17:50
* S1 is a mess with wonky art direction and some crucial stuff skipped. Though S4 does adapt the crucial stuff that was skipped.
* S2 had better direction and doesn't skip anything crucial but skips out on a good amount of world-building and the adventure vibes from the anime.
* S3 onwards, the adaptation captures the feel and pacing of the manga very well. Where the adaptation itself is superb.
Regarding keeping up with skins, that is one aspect that the anime makes it difficult to keep track of because the upcoming OVA was skipped in S2 of the anime.
The manga does a better job at making it clear who has what skin.
abbe442025-12-31 18:06
is there a way to do it chronologically?
tho i doubt it since the stuff that was skipped was in season 4
but you could do season 1 nad 2 chronologically if you like
jump around with the ovas alot
tripleaamin2025-12-31 18:20
Golden Kamuy sub has [this guide.](https://i.redd.it/ahd5snzmrb271.png)
Do note that one arc in S4 happened later in the anime compared because they wanted to give S3 a satisfying conclusion. Which I honestly really liked as a source reader.
GyroGOGOZeppeli2026-01-01 01:05
To add onto this, the new OVA that adapts the O-Gin arc take place around S2.
WarD_ddy_082025-12-31 17:44
This is one of the anime that I've been waiting for, More shocking plots are awaiting us !!
99anan992025-12-31 17:50
Need to go back and rewatch all of Golden Kamuy
bazlew1232025-12-31 18:43
Immortal
b0bba_Fett2025-12-31 19:05
All I ask is for a 2D Train. I want the story of this anime to be starting with 3D bears and ending with a 2D Train.
Also I like trains and it would be so nice.
Ashteron2025-12-31 19:20
The final bear should be 3D tbh.
Resident-Message-7852025-12-31 19:10
AHHHH IM EXCITED
Rapturence2025-12-31 19:20
I watched the live action adaptation and was really impressed. The scenery, the comedy, the over-the-top characters, and yeah especially the bears. And cooking. Guess it's time to binge the anime too!

ARES_GOD2025-12-31 23:02
Everyone get into Golden Kamuy and please for all that is sacred get past that CGI bear at the start so many people dropped it before greatness.
This show is so good it blends actual plot with great characters and insane comedy with utter ridiculousness and it works.
Hina Hina.
l3reezer2026-01-01 00:07
Is there an episode count?
BugsAreHuman2026-01-01 00:50
It's great to see how popular this anime is now
wolfvector2026-01-01 03:33
Am ready to finish golden kamuy
hoanganh1482026-01-01 09:33
This key visual really feels like a culmination rather than just a “final arc” announcement. The composition does a great job of bringing together the sheer number of characters while still conveying tension, chaos, and momentum—very fitting for *Golden Kamuy*.
What I appreciate most is how it reflects the series’ identity: historical grit, clashing ideals, and larger-than-life personalities all colliding at once. It’s rare to see a long-running adaptation reach this point with so much of its spirit still intact.
Looking forward to seeing how the finale is handled, especially in terms of pacing and atmosphere.
Silent-Witness18882026-01-01 15:41
Usual episodes?
darksady2026-01-01 21:01
Its finally coming to an end? I need to catch up on that one. I really enjoyed the first three seasons
