Romance anime with a happy ending
I’m looking for romance anime that actually ends on a happy note.
No tragedy or bittersweet endings, please.
Some romance anime I enjoyed:
- Horimiya
- My Dress-Up Darling
- The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten
Completed series preferred, but ongoing is fine too.
Thanks in advance!

- Toradora
- Special A
- Sign of Affection
- The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity
Sign of Affection
Dangers in My Heart is awesome too (the starting episodes seem crazy but there is no tragedy). This is also an ongoing series but ends at a good point.
Psuedo Harem is also a fun romance (it's not Harem btw) it's just one season and it's complete.
Kaguya-sama (still has one movie to be released)
Rascal does not dream (also has one movie to go)

Most others I have are far from finished so won’t mention them
2. Plastic Memories
3. Darling in the Franxx
4. Charlotte
5. Cyperbunk Edgrunners
They all have really happy endings trust
you are not wrong on that last one though, the character development was so poor in Edgerunners that I didn't care less
Insomniacs After School
Dangers In My Heart (get through episode 4)
Yamada-kun at Lvl999
Fruits Basket… technically
I can also recommend the following, that seem to be complete or have the couple get together early on/from the start (I prefer my romance anime to actually have the couple be together for some part of the run time)
- Tonikawa Over the Moon for you (starts with them getting married on a whim. Has an air of mystery about it)
- Shikimori's not just a cutie (they're already a couple. It's about their relationship. It's cute)
- Banished from the heroes party I decided to live a quiet live in the countryside (fantasy setting with some interesting world building. Couple gets together early on, and already has some history making it not feel rushed as well. That too is important in my opinion)
- Spice and Wolf 2024 (haven't watched the original anime, iirc that one was never finished. Remake isn't yet finished yet either, but because the source material is finished we know what kind of ending it'll have. And the framing device makes it pretty obvious as well where this romance is heading. Honestly, I put off watching this for the longest time, but I finished the first season yesterday and it's one of my all time favorites. It's also already been confirmed for a season 2 and it'll likely go all the way)
- I have a crush at work (starts with them dating already. Office romance, thus with adults. I prefer my romance stories to revolve around adults to be honest, being thirty myself. I think it's finished as well)
- Wotakoi love is hard for an otaku (another office romance. Another one where they start dating at the start. Another one that's finished. The MCs are massive nerds tho)
- Witch Watch (more a comedy than a romance. Seems to be far from finished and there's basically no romance in the season that is out so far. But the story makes it very clear that the romance will have a happy ending in the end. As the title implies magic is a thing in this story, and magic is the reason why this is certain to happen, but hasn't yet. So I'm trusting it to have a happy ending and enjoying the setting and comedy in the meantime)
Kaguya Sama love is war
Golden Time
Love Complex
Maidsama
These have left fond memories for me I hope they do the same for you when you watch these :D
The World God Only Knows have a good ending in my eyes but because it's a harem anime, it's up to you too say if it's a good ending or not.
