[Watanare Ep 13-17]>!what makes the disappointment hit even worse is that eps13-16 were a pure delight. It continues with the fun yuri shenanigans from S1. The focus is mainly on introducing Kaho and also having Renako thinking about how to deal with Mai and Ajisai’s confessions. The comedy was still on point, the character banter was fun, Kaho’s cosplay arc was pretty emotional at times and the overall production quality was still as solid as ever. What’s not to like? Before the last episode, I was already thinking I’d give this an 8/10, same as S1. I was fully content. Until the last 10 or 15 minutes happened. But let’s start from the beginning.!<
[cont.]>!It all started to turn to shit when Ajisai dragged Renako onto that stage Mai was on. Now this might be more of a pet peeve of mine since I don’t really know if others are bothered by this as much as I am (or even at all), but personally I hate it when characters have to discuss personal relationship drama (or other personal stuff) in front of a random crowd of people. They could have just taken that backstage, don’t air out your dirty relationship laundry for the world to see. Not because it might be embarrassing, but because don’t assume everyone is interested in your drama and waste their time. Anyways, while such scenes never fail to make me physically cringe, that alone wouldn’t have been the end of the world. But it made what came next even worse, with a start this rough.!<
[cont.]>!Now with all 3 on the stage, the shit show took its course. At first it looked like Renako is choosing Ajisai and that’s that. She is my least favorite choice of the bunch (she’s a nice girl but just way too boring and I also hate her high pitched asmr type voice, though that’s not on her ofc) but at least we would be locked into a ship and continue with an actual relationship going into the next season. Personally I was hoping she’d choose Mai since I just like them and their chemistry better. It even looked like Ajisai was already starting to come to terms with Mai winning since she couldn’t really believe Renako when she said she’d go out with her. Ajisai would be hurt for a while, but having the Mai Renako ship sail would have been the best outcome imo. Well, instead what we got was my personal worst-case scenario, one I didn’t even think about. Renako actually just went and asked them to date. Both. Wtf. Now I fully support anyone calling this show a trashy romance lol, this is literally the Kanojo mo Kanojo trash bullshit all over again. Srsly wtf. Why have Renako ponder for all these episodes if she isn’t going to choose anyway and instead going with this unbelievably selfish, disrespectful and most insulting option towards Mai and Ajisan? This actually made me lose like 90% of any respect I had for her character. But at this point not all hope was lost. Surely Mai or Ajisai (or preferably both) would call Renako out on her bullshit and tell her to fuck the fuck off. But no. They just roll with it lmao, zero integrity or self-respect found. Ajisai is like “mou, Renako you big meanie” and her and Mai really only talk about how “hard” it will be for Renako to keep both of her new girlfriends happy and not how fucked up the situation actually is. The only ones saying how it is were Satsuki and Kaho from the sidelines and even that felt like it was used mainly for comedic relief instead of serious pushback. In hindsight it makes the Ajisai-Mai romantic scenes from the prior episode extremely shoehorned in, to ease the viewer into their upcoming harem relationship, fuck that shit.!<
[cont.]>!Now I ranted a lot about what I hated about the ending but not really why I find it to be such a turn off, so here’s some personal context. You probably noticed by now but personally I hate the idea of polygamy with a passion. Other people can do what they want ofc, but I have negative interest of consuming anything with polygamy in my media. I don’t really care about it in like “friends with benefits” situations, but when actual love is on the table, I believe that both partners should only be shared with each other. When both Ajisai and Mai visibly lack the self-respect to think “I value myself enough to deserve a partner that considers me their most important and loved person in their live” (assuming no kids in the picture) then how am I supposed to respect them as a 3rd person when they don’t even respect themselves? Not even telling Renako to fuck off and instead happily becoming part of her literal harem. What a joke. Now r/anime seems to go crazy for these “harem routes” and I don’t really get why/the appeal, but I guess it’s safe to say this is probably an unpopular opinion about it. But fuck, how to utterly ruin a show in just 10 minutes. Usually when watching a bad show I just shrug, drop and move on, but this time this show managed to legit piss me off, can’t remember the last time this happened. I kinda wish someone would have just spoiled me on the ending so I could have saved my sanity and these 2 hours and just don’t watch it.!<
Gotta go, so no time to go over my ramblings again to make them more comprehensible, just needed to vent and get this out of my system.
Like point by point you put my thoughts into words, except the final 'cont', i don't have a problem with that
What was it then that bothered you in particular, when you don’t have a problem with the stuff I said in the last text box? Since all the other blocks are mainly the “what I dislike” and only really the final one is the “why”.
[](#mugiwait)
I am a gacha player, and there is one right now with a super controversial character because she is a "waifu bait", and holy cow, Ajisai is textbook Waifu bait
That said, now with Kaho getting a spot, I can finish the character ranking
1. Satsuki
2. Renako
3. Kaho
4. Renako Sister
5. Mai
6. Satsuki Mom
7. Renako Mother
8. Photographer with glasses in the special
9. Background character in the rollercoaster scene, also in the special
10. Ajisai
Depending on the character, I do like many of the nice characters as well. But I like the more troubled or complex personalities just as much.
It's hard to talk about anime I'm watching for fun because I'm doing awards watches but at least most of them are enjoyable. I've been watching Eromanga Sensei on the side and really enjoying that, while I have a view to finish FMAB (and the rest of awards stuff) when I'm working. We use KyoAni and Shueisha assets at work anyway, so watching anime is just research? Right?

Had a lot of free time due to no work over the winter holidays and not too many seasonals, so I managed to watch quite a lot. Starting from the Winter season I'll likely watch a lot less in January, mostly back to seasonals again.
* Anne Shirley: Classics are classics for a reason and I really enjoyed this remake
* Let's go Karaoke and Captivated, by You: Enjoyed both of them but I enjoyed Captivated, by You a bit more.
* Nukitashi + OVAs: It was okay I guess. I was really skeptical at first but it sort of won me over. Does what you would expect. The OVAs were meh though.
* Inugami-san to Nekoyama-san: Decided to watch this older Yuri comedy by the author of Mangaka's weirdly wonderful workplace and it was okay for a TV short. Nothing outrageously funny but couple of chuckles here and there.
* given The Movie: To the Sea: Great, talked about this a bit [couple of a days go](https://old.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/1pzeaux/anime_questions_recommendations_and_discussion/nwti744/). Where discussion thread? [](#lolifightsback)
As for January I think I might try Harmony of Mille-Feuille again since the subs are now good and it was highly rated in the 5ch thread.

|Title|Score|Thoughts and Feelings|
:-:|:-:|:-:|:-:|:--|
|My Friend's Little Sister Is Not Really In This Anime|2|It's difficult to put into words the extent to which I hate every single character in this series except the little sister during the rare moments that she's teasing the MC.
|Kashiwada-Oota|6|Oota is an absolutely adorable tsundere, and anime needs more male tsundere. But the animation is really stale and Kashiwada is rather bland.
|Star Brighter Than the Sun|5|The main girl's constant internal monologuing started to grate on me. It was the same thing over and over again, and it ruined the flow of pretty much all conversations. But it was a fine romance, otherwise. Kamishiro is such a lovable himbo.
|Mr. Yano's Ordinary Days|7|Fun, flirty, creative. Brought a lot of new events to the romance genre, which is always welcome. The main couple is very sweet.
|Watari's XXXXXX|5|Total waste of dramatic potential.
|Prison School|8|There's just something about the combination of grim, serious faces and absurd slapstick scenarios that gets to me. It's also bizzare in the sense that it's such a horny show, and yet none of the characters seem to know what sex even is. I wrote a lot of totally-not-vile thoughts in the rewatch thread.
|Oshi no Ko|7|I absolutely adored all of the characters other than Aqua, who never failed to annoy me.
|Tokyo Godfathers|7|A fun, thrilling ride where wild shit just keeps happening.
|B-Gata H-Kei|9|One of my favorite romances of all time for the simple reason that the characters in it have sexual desires and that's seen as a good thing.
|You're Under Arrest! (OVA)|8|Four episodes of fun, exciting, well-animated illegal street racing done by police officers.
|Hakozume|6|It was pretty fun as a story about office politics, and some of the gender-related stuff was very interesting. But the way that they made the main character (who's gone to police school) literally clueless when it comes to any and all aspects of police work was... Questionable?
|Literally All of Konosuba|7/8|A fun, easy to watch story about four lovable goobers.
|White Album 2|9|A truly beautiful ode to the failures and fuck-ups of youth. I want to write something longer about it, so I'll leave it at that.

For January, I think it’s just Cosmic Princess Kaguya.
I finished most of my seasonals:
* A Mangaka's Weirdly Wonderful Workplace
* A Star Brighter Than The Sun
* Let's Play
* May I Ask For One Final Thing?
* Pass The Monster Meat, Milady
* Sanda
* This Monster Wants To Eat Me
* Wandance
* With You, Our Love Will Make It Through
* Yano-kun's Oridinary Days
Plus also finished Undead Unluck + Winter Arc
Didn't watch any movies. Hope to watch 100m soon and Senpai is an Otokonoko.
In January, I should be finishing Frieren S1 and Hell's Paradise. And also my pending Fall seasonals - MHA, Fated Magical Princess and Twisted Wonderland.
Will start a whole host of Winter 2026 seasonals and hope I can keep up with them also!

~~This *could* potentially be one of the best produced anime series of 2026 already.~~
But you’re really not one to critique others’ hyperboles when you’ve been glazing the CSM film a ton.
Nevertheless, I’ll retract my statement. Happy?
Assuming we get roundabout 250 TV anime in 2026 (real number is likely higher), what you're saying is that this show is at least clocking in at top 25 of 2026 looking only at production quality. Which is a take I'd be way more inclined to agree with than saying "one of the best" which to me sounds more like top 5 or top 10 at worst, like you can only stretch that phrase so far before a show isn't "one of the best" anymore.
> But you’re really not one to critique others’ hyperboles when you’ve been glazing the CSM film a ton.
The difference is I watched Tamon but you haven't watched the CSM film. I'd have no issue if you criticized what you consider to be my personal hyperbole takes, but for your example you would first need to watch the thing to even know if what I'm saying is hyperbole or not lol.
Anyways, I’m mostly annoyed by the fact that you immediately opened with a negative phrase like “holy hyperbole” instead of pointing to there being a lot of good-looking anime. I’d rather start the new year with a positive attitude…
Fair enough. I didn't think this phrase is that serious, but if it bothered you then I'm sorry.
I'm sorry you didn't like it ~~because it's a shoujo~~, but that doesn't make people's praise for it hyperbole.
Again, I'm not arguing against any of that, I even said the production was good in my comment here yesterday.
> It's definitely going to be in the top tier for the year
That entirely depends of your definition of top tier. Is top 20 or 30 still top tier for you? Then sure. What made me initially comment in the first place was specifically the phrase "one of the best of the year" which to me is top 5 - top 10 territory which this show doesn't reach and even if it somehow will by the end of the year, it's still a strange take to drop when it's literally the 2nd seasonal that aired this year and we don't truly know what's still to come for comparison.
Also what's with the weird passive-aggressive strikethrough? If you wanna accuse me of hating shows that are shoujo on principle or something along those lines, at least say so straight up.
Respectfully, who cares? Who hasn't been a little effusive in their excitement for something? Why pick a fight over it?
> If you wanna accuse me of hating shows that are shoujo on principle or something along those lines, at least say so straight up.
I mean, you said it yourself yesterday.
...Huh? I said I have a bad track record of liking shoujo shows. But I still give a good number of them at least a chance in hopes I might like them still, which is the complete opposite of hating something on principle. I'm not denying that it's near the bottom if I'd rank genres/demos based on how much I enjoy them, but everyone has genres they don't enjoy as much as others, nothing wrong with that.
Sure, but shoujo is a demographic, not a genre. Personally, I would interrogate why I liked romcoms, fantasy, and drama, except when they're made for girls/women, but that's me.

[](#mug9)
I’ve been running into this problem more often. For example: I got a snarky reply out of nowhere during that donghua discussion the other day. And there was also someone unjustly berating me about “anime” not merely being shounen that same week. They supposedly later deleted their comment after noticing my flair and/or MAL (lol).
I also have noticed that Tamon seems to be this season's KimiKoe, in that saying nice things about them gets you downvoted. I'm not super into it.
This winter season has plenty of good shows, but it’s otherwise giving me bad vibes. I’m already feeling sorry for anyone who mentions Oshi no Ko in a positive light. They’ll unknowingly invite a storm of trouble.
See the [romance poll results](https://i.redd.it/fxetvs8r0omb1.png) ([source](/r/anime/comments/16bpe91/ranimes_favorite_romance_anime_ranime_poll_results/)), the existing [recommendation wiki page](/r/anime/wiki/recommendations#wiki_romance), and the database sites like [MyAnimeList](https://myanimelist.net/anime/genre/22/Romance) and [AniList](https://anilist.co/search/anime?genres=Romance).
10. *The Camphorwood Custodian –* This one is maybe a little plain compared to some of the later entries on my list, but the synopsis seems like the kind of film that, if it hits right, will hit hard and find an easy home as an early year-end contender from the start.
9. *Skip and Loafer* S2 – It takes a specific kind of series to get me hyped for a sequel. *Skip and Loafer* had a great start in 2023, but fell just short of reaching generational status. Just needs a little more time in the oven to get there, and S2 is looking to do just that.
8. *All You Need is Kill* – Nah. Fuck the haters. I'm going all in and saying that this film looks really good. An adaptation of an older work with a unique style indicates some level of passion and artistic intent that will always grab my attention. 4ºC has been on fire with their last few films, and that shows no signs of stopping here.
7. *Trigun Stargaze* – My other sequel pick of the year, *Stampede* was an absolute treat back in 2023, and I'm excited to see ~~Milly again~~ how they conclude this new interpretation of the *Trigun* universe with this one.
6. *Cosmic Princess Kaguya* – Now *this* is the Kaguya I'm looking forward to. Kind of an interesting case here where I think the ceiling for this one is lower than the entries below it, but Colorido looks to absolutely be pressing up against it from what I've seen from the trailers and will set the bar high for other AOTY hopefuls moving forward.
5. *A New Dawn* – If an art hoe film exists then I will walk over broken glass barefoot to shill it. Hard to get too much of a read on this one from the limited trailers we've seen, but it does look to have a high quality ceiling if things go well. All I can do is hope for the best.
4. *Sparks of Tomorrow* – This is the spot where I do my obligatory shilling for Kyoto Animation. *City* was great this year, and KyoAni looks to be back in the full swing of things. No better way to continue that then to end the near 8-year saga of *20th Century Electricity Catalog*.
3. *Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia* – I don't know what y'all *Jaadugar* fans did to win the adaptation jackpot, but Naoko Yamada is one hell of a drug and is bound to make this one to keep an eye on.
2. *We Are Aliens* – *Ghost Cat Anzu* was a banger, *100 Meters* (that you can and should go watch on Netflix now) was a banger, and I'm ready for 2026 to continue the trend of great rotoscoped movies that get my inner art hoe all giddy. Trailer is extremely tight, and if it can hold that same quality throughout the full run, this one is shooting up my list of the all-time best anime real quick.
1. *Fate/strange Fake –* It's *Fate*, because of course it is. A bit of a boring pick, but *Whispers of Dawn* was really good and now we're finally getting the rest of the series. Almost guaranteed to be a banger. I would lay money on it.
Interested to see what people will think of it, as it may go into a different direction than some may expect, though still good content.
Setting: Girl is send to the past by her grandma, then meets younger grandma and friends. Eventually she get's back to her time.
I’m highly suspect that Oda’s foreshadowing is as elaborate as people make it out to be. I don’t think you plan out almost 30 years of story in the level of detail some people make it out to be.
My guess is Oda’s probably got a general plan and a ton of notes. Highly detailed world building and “foreshadowing” are kind of one and the same. You seed your world with a ton of small details, and then you can call back to it when you feel like it. There’s little downside if you don’t get too lost in the weeds. If you elect to elaborate on it in future arcs, then it’s “foreshadowing”, if you don’t then it’s “worldbuilding”. Like I *highly doubt* that Oda had every little detail of the coming Elfbaph Arc sorted out when he first named dropped the Land of the Giants back 25 years ago.
But that’s just my working hypothesis.
I know people don't like retcons, but I don't think they're a huge problem if the logic is still intact.
Some info: My favourite is steinsgate. In general, I like both fantasy (eg, re zero, mushoku tensei, frieren) and realistic slice of lifes (eg, oregairu, your lie in april, bakuman, silver spoon). Ive only watched apothecary diaries among the recent animes (and loved it!)

HaCha's next up, and — oh no that fairy's *yelling*, I hope she calms down at some point.

My immediate impression is that it's more comedic like Heartcatch but mixing around some personality traits between Tsubomi and Erika.
2009 - No. 3: 咲 -Saki-
The 2017 lineup is my favorite.
The best part is seeing Tari Tari getting some justice.
2012 - No. 2: Tari Tari
Overseas, Tari Tari tends to get written off as a weaker PA Works show and is constantly compared to Hanasaku Iroha, the more popular fan favorite from the year before. A quick look at Tari Tari’s weekly discussion threads makes it obvious how lukewarm the reception was. Meanwhile, the Japan–overseas perception is basically flipped. People actually do appreciate Tari Tari 😭
Not to be overly dramatic. But this feels like the ending of When Marnie Was There, when Anna flips over the photo of the mansion and finds "Marnie" written on the back. [My reaction.](https://imgur.com/a/tari-tari-CTwPkAd)
me and my boyfriend are very... casual anime fans. but the thing is, we've got a bit of a weird taste. we really like mediocre anime. not particularly shit anime, not absolute peak cinema or anything like that. (okay we do like the absolute peak cinema but hear me out)
does anyone have any recommendations for like... 6/10 or 7/10 anime that isn't the best but is kinda fun? the best of the mediocre, basically. bonus points if they've got stupid cute twinks in them since we get a lot of gender envy from stupid cute twinks.
Oh baby, you came to the right place. I love a 7/10 anime with cute twinks. Try:
* number24
* Free!
* Gundam Wing
* Gravion
* You and Me
* Pretty Boy Detective Club
* Midnight Occult Civil Servants
* Hakkenden
* Devils and Realist
* Nanbaka
* Visual Prison
* Touken Ranbu - Hanamaru
* Finally dip into something else in the Macross franchise for something other than the original series/Plus which I saw years ago. Also watch Orguss, which was created by the same team as original Macross
* Catch up on some Ghibli movies I haven't seen yet, starting with both castle themed movies
* Finally get around to some highly regarded stuff like Mushishi, Welcome to the NHK, Made in Abyss and Liz and the Blue Bird (two of which were on my 2025 list but I never got to)
* Watch some old sci-fi OVAs including Genocyber, Legaciam, Maetel Legend, Dragon Century, Zeorymer
* Watch Rie Matsumoto's directorial debut even if I've never seen any other Precure. It's also crazily been four years since I last watched Kyousougiga so I will rewatch that at some point. Hoping Fate Rewinder also comes out this year and threw that on here.
* From a rewatch perspective, give Kiznaiver another chance, experience the trainwreck that was Wonder Egg Priority again, participate in the FLAG rewatch here if it happens
* Several things I included totally on a whim to fill up my 7x7 cause they sound interesting or have interesting looking designs. May blow up in my face. Stuff like Hells, Conception, Vampire Hunter D
That's a wide spread of things, still haven't seen plenty of the highly regarded entries myself. Hope you enjoy Macross Frontier!
1. Ajisai
2. Satsuki
3. Kaho (climbed at least 5 spots)
4. Haruna
5. Shion Wakayama cosplayer character
6. Renako
7. the butler
8. Mai
Might as well have her as "New entry" considering her screentime in the main season!

How many 5+mins trailers even exist?
Anilist has me at 367 titles started in 2025 for a total watch time of 1687 hours and an average score of 6.54.
Legitimately not sure how that happened. That's more than one show a day. The answer to how that happens is I watched a lot of movies and music videos, but I didn't think it was *that many*. I mean I didn't start really doubling down on it until September, so I must have watched more than I thought.
The limit is 10,000 characters for Reddit comments and 40,000 for Reddit posts, just FYI.
Though I'm still planning to binge a few that I was waiting for to finish first.
> Dirty Pair
> City Hunter '91
> Sailor Moon SuperS
> Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt [actually a rewatch because of the new season]
> Concrete Revolutio
And the only one I didn't get to watch was Concrete Revolutio. Instead I ended up watching Nichijou, around 130 episodes of One Piece and rewatching Ideon.
Now my plans for 2026 are... I'm not fully sure. Probably something like:
* Sailor Moon Sailor Stars
* Yoroiden Samurai Troopers
* After War Gundam X
* The Vision of Escaflowne
(three of those are from 1996 as I like to use anniversaries to incentivize me to watch stuff. Also, three are by studio Sunrise)
Once again not committing to many stuff, specially as I am lacking the energy to watch much anime lately.
This is [what last year ended up looking like.](https://i.imgur.com/GNkR858.png) I always aim for the moon and only scratch the surface with these.

> I've been wanting to revisit Cardcaptor Sakura but not sure yet if I'll start with the manga (which I read years ago) or the anime (only seen a few episodes here and there).
Either way sounds neat.

CCS is a series I've been meaning to get around to for a long time. Whenever I see art of it, it is always the prettiest thing.
[](#absolutely)
I won't get around to watching it too soon since I'm prioritizing 2025 backlog, but I want to catch it while it's still on Tubi.
> CCS is a series I've been meaning to get around to for a long time. Whenever I see art of it, it is always the prettiest thing.
It does have cute character designs. The story wasn't too memorable for me, compared to other series like YGO and DBZ that I still remember in detail decades later, except that Sakura and Syaoran were adorable together.
[](#binoculars)
I hope you like it. Season 3 is one of the best showbiz dramas I've seen.
[](#oilup) (I know I said that last year, but this time, for realises ~~hopefully~~).
And if I don't make it this year, then at the very least, 202Idolish7 will be a catchy slogan for next year.
[](#cinema)
I plan to get to G-Reco after seeing Turn A so that I can finish up the last big Gundam entries I have left to see with Mr. Tomino's work.

Undead Murder Girl Farce is really good and Dantalion a little less so but at least decent.
Regarding your bonus goals, Big O, Code Geass and Maquia are awesome! Penguindrum I swing on in totally opposite directions, amazing parts and parts that went off with a thud. Always has some really strong visual direction though. Can say the same for Kimi ni Todoke from a non-visual perspective.
1. Takopi
2. Milky Subway
3. 100 gfs
4. Clevatess
5. Ninkoro
6. Sono Bisque Doll
7. Kaguya
8. Rock Ladies
9. Sanda
10. Gnosia
First time I ever have a <12 episodes anime in #1 (and a short in #2 as well)!
It's also the first time a Kaguya entry is NOT my anime of the year; Kaguya S1, S2 and S3 were all my AOTY for the year they aired.
Sadly it's not because "so many other shows were really good", it's simply... Not on the same level as the other stuff imho. Still good enough to make my top 10, but not enough to wipe up the floor with all other shows and grab the #1, as the other entries have.
[](#howcouldyou)
1. Turkey
2. Hibimeshi
3. Harmony of Mille-Feuille
4. A Mangaka's Weirdly Wonderful Workplace
5. Maebashi Witches
6. Gnosia
Overall, it was a better year for me compared to 2024.
Some other categories:
- Opening of the year: Hyakunichisou (Turkey).
- Ending of the year: Georgette Me, Georgette You (Ave Mujica).
- Most surprised of the year: A Mangaka's Weirdly Wonderful Workplace.
- Most disappointed of the year: Ave Mujica.
And here is [3x3 of my favorite characters in 2025](https://imgur.com/a/00EAckH).

And for 2026, I'm starting strong with a rewatch of Fruits Basket (2019). Wonder what I'll finish the year with.....
I still have not watched the last Code Geass movie, I have no desire to watch S2 of BAnished From the Heroes Party..., and I am not sure I want to see WataNare getting another season.
Have anyone felt the same way about any anime?
The original ending is still intact.
Edit: Alternatively, I break for dinner and then get right back to it. It’s not gonna watch itself.
I do need to set limits though. I've got a slew of other shows that I kind of put on the back burner and need to clear and seasonals are starting up again soon, which I'll need time.
It's not life-changing, but it is very easy to binge (at least for now).
Also, good lord, fate fans are unbearable, shame that I am looking forward to Strange Fake but will try to avoid any discussion of this series, outside of the daily thread of course (if I dont disappear again)
[](#seasonalthink)
It's been almost seven years since I watched that episode of Ueno-san but I remembered one of the skits pretty well: a device that stops people from looking up her skirt. I forgot that the show starts with her trying to force the guy to drink her (filtered, purified) pee though. It's kind of fun for how ridiculous it is.
[](#whatamireading)
I could probably get away with picking up Seirei Gensoku where I left off rather than starting over since I remember a decent amount about it (as with a lot of the others I'll be getting to) but figured I might as well restart from the beginning.
Wait, you have your own personal image-hosting site??
Do whatever you want but, imo, first few volumes are very direct without underlying themes. Worst case scenario, should be fine just rewatching your last episode and continuing.
... Yes, I may be a Pokeshipper, fight me.
On unrelated note, looks like one huge Russian anime database suddenly deleted all GL and BL anime entries. I wonder, if they got pressured or just admins went crazy.
And I gotta say, it's my third time watching it and I think it continues to be the greatest stand-alone anime film of all time.
But besides my age, where I come from also is a factor. Blu-rays discs are quite price here in Brazil, and that plus the death of video rentals and the rising of streaming contributed to quite small market for the format in the country, with a limited selection of things still being released. All that means I went from watching DVDs directly to watching everything through the internet, never really needing one of those players.
[](#brothersinarms)
Overall impression was I loved it. I like these philosophical contemplations on seemingly inane things, in this case finding individual meaning in running 100 meters. At least, that’s my takeaway. [100 Meters] >!Cringe cry scene + rotoscoping absolutely delivering uncanny valley second hand embarrassment and discomfort, so I think it did what it needed to for that emotional breakdown for our main character. Good job making that unpleasant for all involved.!< And I really like how they chose to end it. Not a fan of this particular animation style because it does activate the uncanny valley for me, but I can see why, creatively, it makes sense. There are a lot of subtle things real motion captures that you’d want to animate, and movement was definitely an important aspect here. Would recommend if you like sports or meditations on life for your movie night.

I will leave this [clip of Helios meeting Ruby for the first time](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=125VJu2btIo), that's basically my reaction a few minutes ago
(Well, at least S1; S2 is a bit of a downgrade imho, and I think it's a somewhat general consensus)
